We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary enjoying an amazing dinner here. The food is incredible. Wish we lived closer to be able to enjoy it more often.
Wouldn’t recommend! Snobbish hostesses, harried servers, mediocre food. The restaurant was so loud that we spent more energy shouting at each other across a minuscule table than actually eating dinner.
No welcome when I walked in, told the person at the desk my name, and she told me to go find my table. A. charming beginning. Our server wasn't rude, but it was clear we'd lost her interest when we turned down alcohol. Her focus shifted to more profit-generating tables. It was very noisy inside, which made a conversation quite difficult. The food was good, but I have no interest in returning. There's plenty of excellent sushi and sashimi in this city with much better service.
Best sushi in town. Great HH
Delicious food and fifth time taking a friend from out of town and we were appalled at the service. No one was outright rude or anything but the servers didn’t check in for 40 minutes, and only when we requested a update on where our food was, especially because we ordered when the waitress brought the edamame for the table. We guessed we might have been forgotten, but everyone sitting around waiting around us as well.
Busy but prompt but unrushed service. Absolutely need reservations on weekends. Sushi great; noodle dishes good but not great.
The food is soooo good ! I love eating here, this is the best sushi in Seattle
You can tell the difference in cooks. I’ve been a few times and usually order the same thing. Depending on who cooks it depends on how it’s prepared and quality. (1st cook great 2nd cook fair)
Delicious!! The halibut cheeks were a revelation and every dish was beautifully presented.
Very fresh fish, good portion sizes, beautiful presentation, taste was outstanding!
The specialty rolls aren’t as good as the last few times I dined there. The first few times I ate there the food were outstanding. The hostess can be more friendly, smile please. As for the waitress, we didn’t feel like we were welcomed there at all.
Great restaurant with amazing food and helpful knowledgeable staff. The acoustics aren't great especially when busy it is quite echoey. Love the ambiance of only it was a touch quieter to facilitate conversation more easily.
As always, wonderful food and service.
Favorite place to take local and out of town family and friends. You guys never disappoint. Been coming here for at least 6 years and will continue to do so!
The food was great, and our server was great, but the hostess was exceptionally rude. We also asked to not be seated next to a family with a small child, and lo and behold, the hostess sat the family with a small, very loud child next to us. Drinks too a while to get to the table, but food was speedy and everything was delicious.
5 star everything!
Hardly ever do reviews but Must fir Momiji. The delicate flavors came through thoughtfully prepared food that was artfully presented. A definite MUST GO TO Restaurant
I liked my overall experience at this restaurant. Long lines, but reservation helped.
We had a special birthday to celebrate this evening and I put this down on reservation note as well as verbal reminder to hostess and waitress when we arrived. Unfortunately there was no fanfare whatsoever, no recognition of birthday and very slow service.
Excellent menu selection, lots of good choices. Attentive service. Noise level in the restaurant is
almost unbearable, making conversation next to impossible. One does not go to a restaurant to shout
at one's companions, but that is unfortunately necessary at Momiji.
I have been to Momiji many times before. The past couple of times the service was a bit spotty, waitstaff was curt and food was good but not excellent as previous visits. I will wait a while before coming back again.
Great variety of options if you don't eat fish. Being Irish, I had the lucky leprechaun and was not offended at having a Japanese restaurant appropriate my culture.
Sake flight was fantastic. Omakase was awesome!
Great quality fish and ingredients, and a large selection of unique specialty rolls to choose from
Amazing sushi specialty rolls. We had the Rockstar, the Three Devils and the spicy Rainbow. Lovely flavor bursts with every bite! Appreciated the complimentary edamame which was nicely salted. The vegetable gyoza were a bit gummy and not my favorite. We also had the Wagyu beef nigiri, which turned out to be one piece for $10. Not what we expected but it was good. Cocktails were well blended and delicious. Loved the Japanese garden courtyard. Service was outstanding. Will definitely go back!
Fantastic late night menu!! Sautéed mushrooms were some of the best I’ve ever had too.
Got together for a friend’s belated birthday, we all had some great drinks and food. Definitely recommend the maitake mushroom tempura with green tea salt and the pike street roll! Service was great, it is a busy place and loud but manageable. So glad we made reservations! If you’re coming Friday through Sunday definitely make reservations because the wait will be guaranteed 45 mins+ during dinner.
Great vibe with fun atmosphere for a friends night out. The food was really good. It was cozy and loud with lots of chatter.
Excellent food and service. The restaurant is noisy, thus making it difficult to hold a conversation. With that said, I would go back in a heartbeat. THE best sushi this side of Bermuda!
Our server was very helpful and amazing.
Food was amazing and the price for the amount was unbeatable. Note we went for happy hour, the selection was really good for happy hour. Service was a little slow but our waitress was slammed so it was understandable.
The place seemed really popular for birthdays. The wait time to get seated and get food after being seated was quite long. Also, the restaurant was intimately lit but very loud. We couldn't hear or see that well. As for the food, they have a huge selection which made us skeptical on the taste. I got the Wonderland Roll and I really liked their take and texture for a vegetarian roll. Although there were about 10 pieces with each roll we ordered, I don't think the price was worth the value. I might come back again during the daytime or happy hour, but I don't see it being one of my regular go-to places.
I’ve got to be honest, this has been a go to for us for a few months but the service last weekend was abominable. After my companion dropped her chop sticks on the floor, a server said they would bring new utensils. After 15 minutes no chopsticks. The dinner was delivered to our table so I walked back to the service area to grab chopsticks for her... and proceeded to be reprimanded by a server for taking chopsticks from the wrong area. After yelling at me, she reached 6 inches to the left to grab a different set of chopsticks rather than just letting me take the original pair I grabbed and replacing as needed. Then proceeded to deliver the chop sticks and visibly roll her eyes at me. Sad to say things didn’t get better and we won’t be returning
we really enjoy happy hour at Momiji, only issue we had was ordering rolls that were all too similar and very creamy with mayo, not to our taste, but it was our choice so we won't do that again.
DELISH! Exceptional Hapoy Hour! Can’t wait to go back!
This is our first visit to Momiji. Momiji was recommended by my co-worker. He especially recommended about Happy Hour. We also made a reservation at 4:00pm as other viewers advice. We got there 10 minutes earlier than 4:00pm and line started right away. We were glad that we had a reservation there otherwise we had to wait. The Happy Hour menus were excellent selections and prices. We had Agedashi Tofu, Sashimi plate, Tuna plate, Sushi B and C, Spicy Tuna Rolls, Tempura sets, from regular menu Asari miso soup and my husband had special cocktail “Miyazaki”. All were very good. Sashimi plate and Tuna plate portions were very generous for price and they were very fresh. My husband loved Asari miso soup very much. I’m originally from Japan and Asari miso soup reminded me my mom’s. Miso tends to be over powering most of Japanese restaurants, but Asari soup had right amount of miso flavor. We are definitely going back Momiji and we want to try their sushi “Omakase”.
Overall, food and cocktails were pretty delicious. Waitress was snippy and rude when my sister requested extra sauce on the sushi.
The food was really good! Super fresh and delicious. The service was lacking, we had to wait and wait and wait on our server to bring us a simple refill of drinks and a chance to order more food. After all said and done we prolly waited 15 mins for our server to take the bill. We ended up walking out and handing it to her ourselves! Overall the food out weighed the service
