Garlic Short Ribs
beef short ribs with garlic soy glaze, served w/ taro chips
Love the food here, but am so over the attitude from the front desk to the wait staff. We could be dining anywhere in Seattle (that is open during this health crisis), but we chose this restaurant and still receive subpar service. Would love to continue to support this establishment, but there are honestly better restaurants I would rather spend my money at.
The best Japanese food I have ever had in town
Fabulous and unique food. The noodle dish had the same flavour we tasted in some of the more memorable meals in Japan.
great happy hour experience
We ordered one last roll and it took about 30 minutes to get to our table.
We are never disappointed. The food is consistently excellent.
Met my daughter and her boyfriend here for Happy Hour. Prices were good and the food was excellent. I had read reviews the the restaurant was overly loud but I found that not to be the case, even though it was totally full. We were seated in the dining area in back of the garden. Maybe that makes a difference. The service was good without having someone ask you every 2 minutes how you were doing. When we needed something, someone was there. I recommend you make a reservation unless you have plenty of time to wait, even early on a weeknight.
Food was amazing! We hadn't been here for years, but plan to get this place back in our rotation. Service was excellent as well. Great time!
Japanese food for Americans who don't know authentic Japanese food.
Satiating experience! The food was beautifully prepared, the servers were attentive and friendly, even with how busy it was!
Food is amazing. Front hostess is very unfriendly. Was told had to order food in order to sit at the bar while we waited.
The best sushi I have ever had.
Good food and nice place. Highly recommended
New menu is amazing. Service was off the hook. Patrick in the bar provided great drinks and great service.
We enjoy the food. Their service was not great. The server was not curteous, we were eating and she just want to take our plates, we didn’t event finished the food. I believe it’s rude to take someone’s food plate when they are in the process of finishing it.
I came for my birthday and the host half-heartedly acknowledged this when taking us to our table. Our server seemed like she was in a very bad mood. She made no attempt to make us feel welcome. She definitely didn’t enhance the experience at all. The food and drinks were great. I would have liked to try dessert but I was never offered a dessert menu. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed.
Great spot, will good food. The Halibut Cheeks were terrific!
We went to Momiji for a birthday and were seated at the back. It was fantastic food, but the servers were hovering over us to move us along. We loved the drinks, too. It is worth the discomfort because the sushi is great!
I would recommend this restaurant as the food is outstanding, service was very good and the garden beautiful. However it was too noisy. Most of the noise came from the music that was turned up too loudly, as people seemed to compensate by talking louder, over the music. It was impossible to have a conversation in this beautiful restaurant.
The noise was almost unbearable. The food was outstanding. I will probably not go back because of the noise level.
All staff was friendly and courteous. Good food and good ambience
Based on last visit I wouldn’t recommend. Food order wrong 3X. Calamari over cooked. Loud as well
i wrote a special request in the open table reservation because it was a special celebration for my boyfriend but they didn’t notice it, so That was a bummer! Food was pretty good but less fresh than I remembered, and not the friendliest staff.
Love Momiji Happy Hour!
Fantastic service, great happy hour menu, and an excellent saké menu.
Delicious menu. All the way from a hearty miso soup (best I’ve had) to anything on the specialty sushi menu. Nothing disappointed. Definitely get a reservation - no matter what night of the week!
We went to Momiji restaurant to enjoy a meal with friends.
We ordered many plates to share. The specialty rolls were delicious and quite large, we also ordered some’ normal’ rolls which were also great.
We asked for 3-flight sake tasters and we asked our waitress to pick for us, all picks were great.
The price for what we ordered was great, I’ll definitely go back and try some other dishes.
The only down side of the evening was how loud the restaurant was. It was so loud we had to yell at the top of our lungs to hear one another. My friends voice was hoarse at the end of the evening.
The place was packed and everyone sitting around us seemed to be enjoying their meals.
Food and service were great, but this is definitely a young people's restaurant. Very crowded and extremely loud. Very difficult to carry on a conversation there.
Food was wonderful. However the hostess was a
Best sushi ever!
Absolutely love their sushi. nice ambience but you can't have a decent conversation because of the noise. Good service. Making a reservation is a must to avoid long wait.
Our party was led by three experienced Momiji eaters who guided us through the vast menu. We thought we would be eating Sushi (which looked marvelous) but this damp and chilly evening we chose Udon instead. The steamy rich handmade noodles hit the spot. We were seated in the back room which I understand was a little quieter than the other two. Yes, we could hear each other most of the time but when several tables near us emptied, the sound diminished. Had it been like that we would have given an overall rating of 5 stars.
The steamed edamame that was brought to the table when we sat down was a lovely surprise and took the edge off our appetites as we poured through the menu. In all we had miso soup to start and then the very large bowls of Udon. I took at least half of mine home for a second meal. One opted for Tempura which looked wonderful. I'll try that the next time. We also shared a nice bottle of wine.
Our total cost with 20% tip was $155. This was a grand meal at a very reasonable price.
Best happy hour in Seattle!
My extremely picky grandma had nothing to complain about during her dinner at Momiji! We both loved it! Take advantage of their happy hour if you want to try a bunch of their food!
Excellent choice of nagiri and sushi rolls. Specialty rolls were all awesome.
We went to celebrate a birthday. We were a little late for our reservations - we couldn’t find street parking right away. No problem getting a table, however it took over 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us once we were seated.
SUPER accommodating staff and a server totally dedicated to making sure we experienced the best they had to offer. Overall an awesome evening--especially since I left my phone in my Uber upon arrival and the awesome folks at the front of the house were super understanding about my distress and need for help!!
