Standout grilled octopus and lamb chops. Nice place
This is a good pre theater choice if you are going to City Center or Carnegie Hall. Delicious Greek food and attentive service.
Food was a little slow, but it was fantastic.
Food was delicious. Would come back again any time for lunch.
Food was overpriced and mediocre at best. This is my last time there.
Algunos platos buenos y otros regulares.
absolutely a wonderful dining experience. the prix fixe is fine but we ate a la carte and enjoyed the seafood with orzo as a special treat. find margarita for great service. molyvos always reliable. kudos.
We’ve eaten at Molyvos ever since it opened. Their food is consistently excellent, their service impeccable, their wine list extensive and reasonably priced. A place of home away from home.
Finally got to Molyvos after years of thinking it would be great pre-performance option for City Center and for Carnegie Hall. Actually made it at 1pm on a non-matinee day giving us a chance to enjoy the pleasant decor and friendly service. Food was great - both Greek and Greek-ish options. A tad on the pricey side but considering location and both the quality and portions of the food, an excellent choice for pre-performance or for any other reason.
The food was mediocre at best and the service non-existent. It can’t compare to Milos or Avra. Wines by the glass were ridiculously overpriced.
Lovely atmosphere. Elegant but not pretentious. Food was incredible. Pistachio & edamame hummus with warm pita. Best red snapper I have ever eaten. Moussaka was sublime. Can’t say enough good things about quality, service and how delicious the food was. My third visit and will be going back. Five stars across the board!
Fantastic waiter, great service, took very good care of our table
Delicious food and impeccable service! Great for all occasions!
We always enjoy dining at Molyvos. Whenever we are in the area for theater we prefer dining here. Even though this particular evening was very busy we never were made to feel rushed or uncomfortable. We look forward to returning!
Ok food with way over price
As always, great food. But the service was incredibly slow; especially when the restaurant was not that busy.
been going there for years always consistent...feels like Greece!
Great food and service. Definately will go back. The lamb shank with orzo was perfect.
This is a fairly good choice if you want to be close to City Center. Restaurant is attractive but highly overpriced for pretty basic food.
I ordered sesame crusted tuna for main dish - it tasted like paper.
My friend ordered the striped bass - he also said dry and not good.
Wonderful as always.
But missed having my glass of Retsina.
Alas, they were out.
Superb Greek Salad and authentic moussaka. Prompt and gracious service.
For a business lunch, need to be out within an hour
Everything very good. One friend thought that tuna could use more zip.
Food was very good!! Waiters were not perfect as little bit business like....
Very enjoyable evening. Great food. Attentive and nice wait staff. Quiet. Beautiful space
Had a wonderful dinner here. We haven’t been to Molyvos in a while and we truly missed it. Service was wonderful. We loved the Greek meatballs, the spreads, and the octopus was to die for.
Been there about 5 times before. It's getting a little old, like the clientele. Not sure how to update it.
Molyvos is a superb restaurant, with a fine menu, dishes expertly designed and produced, and attentive help.
We had the prix fixe dinner. The zucchini fritters were mediocre. The salmon was good, but not outstanding. The chocolate mouse was truly excellent. Service and noise level were very good and low, respectively.
Food uniformly very good. Party of four allowed sampling of many delicious presentations. Have been coming annually on our nyc visit and it remains a reliably fine dinner.
Not worth the money! I know Greek food well. Very expensive for quality. Service good in the beginning and then dropped off.
Molyvos is an ideal special-occasion restaurant. Its attention to small details, such as a choice of bean dips and tapenade, and the flavorful pita and focaccia bread accompanying them as starters, augers a special meal. Molyvos lets the ingredients be the stars of the show, and they source the best ingredients so the result is always spectacular.
The food was really good, although the service was not great. A good greek restaurant on a convienient location for tourists.
Overpriced mediocre Greek food, need I say anything more!
Wild greens in appetizer were old and withered. Greens in side dish were best thing on the menu.
Moussaka contained peppers - why? Wrecking a fine old recipe.
Fish was overcooked.
Best Mediterranean food we have eaten in NYC! This restaurant has great service, fabulous food, and peaceful ambience! My husband ordered the lamb shank. It was paired with orzo in a rich sauce. The lamb was so moist and succulent! I ordered the Lahansa Dolmades. The dish was covered in a lemon bechamel sauce that was superb! We shared an heirloom tomato salad. It, too, was perfection! Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Good food, wide range on the menu, and excellent service.
Excellent service and food. Great place to eat before catching a theatre show.
Enjoyed the meal and service. If you find yourself there, the pistachio hummus and lamb shank were delicious. Better and fresher wine by glass choices would help the meal. Service was very good. Atmosphere was low energy.
