Food was wonderful - staff friendly attentive and knowledgeable! A bit more pricey then expected but enjoyed and would go back.
Had all small plates and two great bottles of Greek Wines. All was amazing
Had friends in from out of town and they live Greek food. Since your restaurant was near their hotel and I remembered how much I used to like your food, I thought it would be a good choice. The food was delicious, service excellent and I liked the diversity of the menu. Our friends loved it. And I believe you have redone the restaurant since my last visit and like the fact that it is not as dark as it was previously, and the noise factor was very comfortable. Highly recommend!
This was our second visit. Very good Classical Greek food. Excellent service and extensive wine list.
Always on our list when visiting New York. Creative approach to traditional Greek cuisine. Great service.
Nice Greek menu with some real Greek food. We brought a bottle of wine with $35 corkage but their wine list as some nice items (e.g., Siglas Assorytiko). I try to avoid carbs and when I said "no orzo on my lamb shank please" the waiter volunteered a spinach substitute without me asking and agreed with me that if I was going to waste my carb allocation for the day, the Greek bread was a better thing to waste it on. Their melitzanasalata spread was better than I make myself, and I rarely admit that about any restaurant.
Food was very fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Servers honored our theater schedule.
Every time I’m in NYC I have a meal there! Love it, the food, atmosphere and waitstaff
The food was far too bland and did not taste fresh.
Wonderful good, great meal, good wine and terrific service. Very customer friendly.
The food was delicious and the service was great. The price was a bit much given the location etc. but worth it if you're really trying to get some decently authentic Mediterranean fare.
Food and staff were excellent!
Very, very comfortable, exceptionally tasty food, interesting menu
This is a very busy pre-theatre restaurant that handles the crowd very well. The food is fresh and very flavorful; the service is exceptional.
I arrived early for my open table reservation and announced myself to the hostess. Since I was a party of 1, she offered me a table immediately. The service I received was extremely attentive, and very quick. The food was delicious, attractively presented, and just the right amount for me. The bill was a bit more than I had hoped it would be, mainly because of the cost of bottled sparkling water and having dessert (baklava - REALLY good!). I was distracted so I didn’t add it up as I went. Know that it is pricey. But again, great service, delicious food and beautiful presentation.
The food was good, but not anything overly special. I had planned to order a glass of wine after my cocktail, but the server never checked in himself after the food was served, just others who I assume were more just food runners.
Food was fantastic. Great prompt service. Lucked out on good wine.
Had a 6:00 reservation ahead of an 8:00 concert. Still, waiter rushed meal a bit more than necessary - we were done by 7:00. Food only mediocre - not as good as I remember it being several years ago.
Very good modernized Greek food, updated and creative, not traditional. One disappointment on this visit; the waiter really talked up the galataburiko (spelling), so I ordered it. Then when it was time to serve dessert, he announced that they were out of it -- no more in the kitchen. And this happened at 6:30 pm, not late at night.
The Easter menu was really great
Lamb roulade was really tasty
Loved the spanokopita
They nailed the traditional Easter fare very well - from mageritsa to tsoueki to the red dyed eggs.
Loved the grilled octopus!
Perfect for pre-theatre —City Center is right around the corner—Molyvos is a reliably delicious option for Greek food. One of our party was vegetarian and she had no problem finding many choices. The food and service are always good and whenever we are in this part of nyc, it’s our first choice.
The octopus was fantastic! The service was good, we told them we were seeing a show and they had us out with plenty of time.
An excellent go to place for City Center or Carnegie Hall
It occurred to me as we were leaving that this was very much like a Greek version of Olive Garden. If you’re going to be seated on the lower level in the back, ask them to move your seat closer to the front because you’ll get no service as the kitchen entrance is before right before these seats.
food was ok - service very slow - had to ask for things like lemon slices or coffee refills two and three times
We shared a number of appetizers and small plates and all were very good. But equally important was that it was quiet so that we could have a real conversation without shouting.
Cuisine was simple and healthy. Service was very attentive. I was given an oddly uncomfortable table next to a pillar given that the restaurant was not at all crowded. Good Value on Price Fixe lunch. One of my dishes tasted as if it had been pre-cooked and was not as fresh and juicy as it could have been. Soup and dessert were wonderful.
Selection of spreads made a fantastic starter for two, and the selection of three kinds of baklava for dessert was unbelievable. Service was warm and attentive without hovering. They were very kind to a customer with mobility problems. A wonderful experience.
Pre Weill Hall concert for artist’s family and friends. We’ve done it before and will do it again!
As usual, Molyvos is great. I lalways meet people there before Carnegie Hall concerts. It never disappoints.
Very nice environment. Good food, though we didn't order anything particularly unique except the avocado sesame tahini, which was very good.
Had a tasty lunch with good service. Made it to matinee in plenty of time.
Yummy and authentic. Very friendly service without the obsequiousness present in so many service models these days. Pricey but worth it. Fabulous martini!
Wonderful lunch. My wife, who does not always like Greek cuisine, loved it! The roasted vegetables should not be missed. Sea bass and moussaka were excellent. Service was excellent as well.
The best octopus in town. Awesome Greek wine selection.
Still one of my NYC favorites! Best Octopus in the city!!
Great grilled octopus, Greek wines and excellent grilled fish. It all was yummy, with good service that allowed us plenty of time to get to our nearby Carnegie Hall concert.
Great food, very good service. Would go there again.
