I haven't been for quite a few years. It looks the same, but I don't recall their being such an abbreviated menu. I suppose you could call it tapas, but not so exciting. My main complaint is that we were seated at a tiny tea table so that you had to balance your plate on your lap. I suppose I should have researched before going.
Great place for food and fun. We have been for special occasions, and business meetings. Love the food and atmosphere.
Perfect place to bring out of town friends.
It's a nice place for a cocktail and some snacks, in a cool mansion setting.
Drinks menu and was disappointing and overpriced.
The tapas plates we ordered were also bad: mac n cheese was undercooked, calamari was reheated and dried out and dumplings were also deep fried into oblivion.
In addition service was questionable - painted on smiles and generally uncomfortable atmosphere.
I love this place but the service is always mediocre . This time our waitress was friendly but the host was rude as usual . They did reconcile and that was appreciated . The place is beautiful and the food is amazing , so it’s worth a visit .
One of the best restaurants in Memphis!
We dined at Molly Fontaine's for a date night. Our corner seats in the front room did not offer much for an intimate dining experience. It's a fun atmosphere that would be much better suited for late-night hangs. The cocktails were just okay, but I highly recommend the truffle fries.
Coolest place in Memphis to get out for a nice evening. Food dishes are very small and after 90$ we left hungry but we loved the ambiance! No piano as advertised though!
fun, funky place-a must see in memphis
but the food is just ok
Great food and great service.
This is a very good alternative to the crowds of Beale St. The atmosphere specifically the lighting is wonderful and the jazz duo was a pleasant surprise.
Awesome ambience, incredible service, even better food and drink!
Great place.
This is a cool, trendy hip spot located in a historic area of Memphis. An at home feel in a old house turned into bar! Comfortable sitting, knowledgeable staff and great cocktails! Get the Mac n Cheese!
Interesting setting - cute Victorian house. Was oddly quiet - I guess we got dinner a little early. The mussels were yummy and more in quantity than expected. Wish the pianist started playing before we left.
This historic home turned eatery/happy hour local has eclectic charm. You have to go once, maybe more.
Customer service was poor. Not good service and we did not enjoy our drinks or food.
I have heard great things about this place, but our server was new and didn't even know what a ginger ale was. He had to leave our group and 'go ask' about everything.
"Do you have ginger ale?" - "let me go ask"
"Can you make this drink without the alcohol because I'm pregnant?" - "let me go ask"
"Could you serve the non-alcoholic drink in a champagne glass (because it's my bachelorette party) and I want it to look pretty and feel like I'm still drinking something tasty?" - "sure" - but then he served it in a regular glass.
He ended up charging us the full price of an alcoholic drink even though we asked for them to be virgin because people in our group were pregnant. $12 for grapefruit juice and soda water isn't acceptable.
When we ordered desert, we asked what their special was. He said, "It's like a chocolate cookie in between bread" ... so, since that was the only option, we ordered it. It was a white bread sandwich, with chocolate spread in the middle, sprinkled with powdered sugar for $13.
It wasn't the experience we were hoping for.
Love the place. My husband and I were curious about the lounge, and we finally had the opportunity to go. We absolutely loved it! The ambiance, the place, the tapas, and the cocktails.
Apparently we stumbled in on a quiet night and were treated to excellent service, fabulous food and drink and a wonderful serenade from the musical duo, all in the surrounds of a mysterious and charming mansion.
Great place
Great find in an upcoming revitalized neighborhood. Cool date night for two or fun for a few couples. Food is good
Fun place to celebrate birthday. Great cocktails and food
Molly's was great again! I highly recommend for a night out with friends!
I managed to stumble across this treasure trove while looking for dining places off the beaten path. My friend and I came from Jonesboro, AR and we absolutely loved the entire experience. The ambience, food, and service were perfect! Well worth the drive. Can't wait to visit again!
This place is fantastic. Great food and Drinks. We ordered 5 or 6 food items and split them among the four of us. Everything was fantastic.
Wonderful as always. Can't say enough positive things about Mollie's
Went hear for New Years Eve with a friend from out of town. It was a perfect choice! Great food, drinks, service and ambience. It's a must do next time you are in Memphis.
Didn't realize that this is not a restaurant. Would be a nice spot to meet for drinks, but if you want food, the only place to sit is at the bar
My fiance and I dined at Mollie Fontaine's last week while we were visiting Memphis. It certainly was... unique.
We went there expecting it to be a bit quirky (after reading reviews), and we also were looking forward to having a tapas-style meal. Once we walked in the old Victorian house, we were confused what to do as there was a live band playing but no hostess. Finally, after standing around a bit, we went to the bar and told them we had a reservation. We then climbed a flight of stairs and were seated in two armchairs that were facing each other, but only had a side table between them. In the same room was another couple, seated similarly. The bar upstairs was not set up, and ordering took forever. The menu was not extensive, nor was the food anything special. We also felt out of place, although the other customers fit our own demographics.
Before dining at Mollie Fontaine's, please know what to expect: very strange tables/seating, lackluster service, average food and drinks, hodgepodge decor.
Can't beat the atmosphere if you like Victorian, candles, and good jazz for dinner music. Food was excellent. Very relaxing for dinner. Curious about late night...maybe some day.
Great atmosphere, felt very unique in comparison to many of the places you find in Memphis
I am always weary about going here, because it's not really a "tapas" restaurant. It's more like a Bar that has decided to sell "tapas" food. But even with that, the food is always delicious, but the service is always something to be desired. It always seems like you are bothering the staff instead of them not wanting to help you.
Loved the BLUE ROOM and the food was incredible!
~ "Hidden Victorian Gem" ~ !!! Cool vibe, mix "old school" with "modern" and you get a "classic"!
Fun and very unusual place! The food was good too!
This restaurant was off by itself, but it's so unique, it's worth the small extra effort to get there. The fries were excellent. Everything else was good, but not better than anything else. Drinks are very old fashioned and classy. There are no actual tables. Lounge is definitely the right word. The live music was great as well!
Talking to locals helps one to find tthose diamonds in the rough. Entering into the house we were greeted by warm friendly people. We explored the house and found the blue room to chill in. We ate and had great food with perfectly manufactured drinks. This is a must when in memphis.
Eclectic decor and delicious small plates at this historic Memphis domicile, with funky fresh cocktails make this a favorite guilty pleasure for us!
This lounge in the Victorian Village is unique because it allows you to hang out in historical style. Low lighting, cool decor, delicious food (calamari with smoked paprika). Courtyard too. I don't know how this place wasn't packed, as it's beautiful, but there were only several other small parties there.
