Mollie Fontaine Lounge
Frenchie and Vanessa were fun, helpful and professional. They made you feel extremely welcome. They had a band (the Shieks) that night and it was great - playing every Thursday in October. A must see. Downstairs environment was terrific - they explained the history of the house on Millionaires Row, who owned it now and how it had been transformed into a Lounge.
Upstairs was a different vibe - we asked the bartender about the pictures on the wall - who were they and with a surly attitude was asked how she should know - all she did is serve drinks (a profession that requires an understanding of customer service) - something she obviously knew nothing about. And the gentleman serving up there must have been from the same club because he was unhelpful, disinterested and somewhat rude.
So by all means go there - the food is good, drinks well crafted - but only spend time downstairs - vibe and people are awesome.
Overall a nice experience once I shifted my mindset to the eclectic nature of the dining experience. Wish the hostess/waitress would have asked at the onset if it were our first time there, which it was, just to give us a set up of expectation. We were surprised to learn their was no traditional dining tables when she sat us down in LR chairs. It’s definitely more of a bar experience and the place looked better as the sun went down. But food was tasty and so were the drinks.
We always have a awesome time when we celebrate there 🎉
I had an amazing time with my friends as a girls night! Mac and cheese was amazing so was the sliders!
Loved the atmosphere ! Great vibe ! Security on premises!
Good food. Best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Great selection of food, tapas style. Victorian home and seating was really neat. BTW, seating is Victorian style as well and not your typical chair and table set up...great for socializing. Would def go back. Perfect spot just outside downtown area
The furniture was uncomfortable and things looked unkept and i wasn’t sure if things were actually clean due to that...like the paint and plaster and the broken down furniture. It is a neat concept and with some tweaks would be super cool. The restroom was very clean and the service was good! The truffle fries were very yummy!
My favorite place. Summer is the best server and hostess.
The food was very good and the menu unique and fun. It was a bit hard to eat because it is set up like a sitting room with just a small end table for each pair of diners. Also we were sitting in low easy chairs. We did get a 2nd small table to give us more room. However it’s worth the visit for the food & ambiance. A host of flavors and a very unique menu. The service was excellent also.
We mainly went for a specialty drink, (it is a lounge), and were very disappointed with the drink quality. When I asked my wife if she wanted another, she answered "only if they actually put Jack Daniels in the next one! Food was good and our server did a nice job.
Sitting in grandmas parlor, great drinks, great food. And on the weekend you have the pleasure of Summer as your server👍
atmosphere was very laid back and enjoyable....bartender was outstanding
was not digging the choice of music (DJ) but that is a personal preference
Lauded in certain circles for its drinks and music scene (think hip jazz piano bar), this place is truly a hidden gem in the Memphis dining scene. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding, even on a night when they were obviously short-staffed. All that in a unique and very comfortable setting. Perhaps the best part was that it was quiet enough that our party could talk with one another without shouting. You don’t find that often these days.
The perfect place to have an intimate evening or a group of friends. Friendly staff, interesting food well-prepared, good drinks, pleasant music not so loud you can't talk, comfortable seating, fantastic ambiance.
Great place to bring a date for casual conversation
Super chill lounge spot. Great for a date night and light fare with good drink options.
Nice evening. We were expecting a more lively atmosphere. Food was delicious and service was adequate.
Intate spot with great cocktails & food
Mollies never disappoints! We ate upstairs at the bar, and the bartender, Scott, and his supporting cast were efficient and friendly. The food was delicious! We then went downstairs for music and more drinks. Frenchy made sure we never went dry. The music is always special, and it was tonight. No place like it. Just go already!
This is a bar with food, not a restaurant. Menu on website is not accurate. Food is mediocre.
Room is interesting, but I would not recommend for dinner.
Always love eating and listening to music here.
Great food, drinks and ambiance! Historic old home decorated in an upscale, eclectic fashion gracefully transitioned into an excellent restaurant and piano bar.
So glad I picked this spot for my 30th birthday dinner. The food and drinks were so good, with a couple of exceptions. I drove from Oxford, MS and have every intention to do it again. Loved the vibe.
We did not dinner, because there's no jazz music as announced.
My favorite restaurant and my favorite server (Summer) !!!
One of my favorite Memphis restaurants!
It was described to me as a great place to sit and chat in a cozy setting. It was as described.
Took our friend there for his birthday - great service and food and very reasonable for all that we ordered
Eclectic décor adds to the experience
Our 2nd visit. Thankful they accommodate Vegetarians. Only a handful of fellow diners on both visits... Not sure why? It's fun, great music, good food, laid back vibe. We enjoyed both visits. I guess you get it or you don't... We do!
Great food, unique atmosphere and excellent service.
I haven't been for quite a few years. It looks the same, but I don't recall their being such an abbreviated menu. I suppose you could call it tapas, but not so exciting. My main complaint is that we were seated at a tiny tea table so that you had to balance your plate on your lap. I suppose I should have researched before going.
Great place for food and fun. We have been for special occasions, and business meetings. Love the food and atmosphere.
Perfect place to bring out of town friends.
St. Patrick's day, there was no live music. No warning... we showed up and the musician decided to take a night off last-minute, so they hired a DJ, who wouldn't arrive until 11 p.m. Our reservations were at 6:30, and the place was absolutely dead. Really disappointed.
By far one of the coolest places to hang out in Memphis!!!!! The service is always great, food is amazing, and the ambiance is the best in the city. Perfect for a girls night out!
A charming and eclectic dining experience in a turn of the century Victorian. Very cozy and intimate.
It's a nice place for a cocktail and some snacks, in a cool mansion setting.
Drinks menu and was disappointing and overpriced.
The tapas plates we ordered were also bad: mac n cheese was undercooked, calamari was reheated and dried out and dumplings were also deep fried into oblivion.
In addition service was questionable - painted on smiles and generally uncomfortable atmosphere.
I love this place but the service is always mediocre . This time our waitress was friendly but the host was rude as usual . They did reconcile and that was appreciated . The place is beautiful and the food is amazing , so it’s worth a visit .
One of the best restaurants in Memphis!
