Saturday - Sunday: 11:00am - 10:00pm
This was our first time here. The food that we received was good. Our server was also good but clearly overworked, and most likely the same for the kitchen. The initial service, taking our order was slow but ok. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and two of the medium entree-sized dishes. The appetizer came quickly, followed shortly by the first entree. After waiting 40+ more minutes for the second entree we could not wait any longer and asked for the check. The server apologized that the last entree did not come out "quickly enough for us".
The first time my husband and I visited was in 2013 and I decided to surprise him and take him on his birthday this year since he loved it before. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly and personable. Unfortunately, they were out of Gumbo and Shrimp Etouffee. We are Korean and already get our fix of Korean food on a daily basis and were really looking forward to some of their fusion/Cajun dishes. The dishes we did end up having were decent but the short ribs and house made noodles were extremely oily. We got the Jambalaya last time so we ended up getting it again since the other two items we wanted were out of stock. That and the mixed fries were the best items this time around. If we do come back we'll call ahead first to make sure they have certain items in stock.
Good selection of food. Fresh and tasty
It was for sure an interesting experience. Bone marrow is super super rick and oily. Super heavy. Bison dumplings & pork belly+octopus skewers - awesome and yummy! We would definitely recommend for a one time experience.
A most unusual and unexpected, but thoroughly delicious, dining experience! Well worth the drive from DC.
Good ambiance, good food, good service. Will definitley go back.
Who knew? A fusion of Korean and Cajun and everything we had was wonderful - full of flavor and really delicious. Our party of four shared 3 small plates (spicy fava beans, jalapeno hush puppies, kimchi pancakes), and 6 other dishes (housemade noodles, bison dumplings, bison with rice and vegetables, crispy catfish chips, and something else that I can't remember). Each dish was better than the one before and we were very full. The cocktails were very good and there was a large selection of beer and wine. Service was wonderful and we were never rushed. 9 dishes plus 3 cocktails, 1 beer and 2 glasses of wine came out to be about $40 a person. It took 30 minutes to get there from Arlington. Can't wait to go back!!!
Our server tonight was awesome! The food is always great, but the service we had was amazing.
The food here is so good and so interesting. The wait staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Just a great dining experience.
We really enjoy this restaurant. Very imaginative and excellent food and great staff.
This is a restaurant you may want to try when you are tired of the same old food.
It serves Korean and Cajun specialties in a modern atmosphere. The wait service is knowledgeable and professional. You also don't have to break the bank to have an excellent meal.
This was our first visit to Mokomandy. We were looking for something different and were not disappointed. The food was excellent. The Wild Boar Bowl was especially good, and filling. Skye did a great job of taking care of us.
The food and service was very good. Good Jambalaya and Halepeno Margarita. Fusion of Korean and Cajun food.
Maybe I was expecting too much from high praise and good reviews but I feel like my experience fell flat. I think I may have tried too many new things so I didn't know what to expect taste wise but nothing I ordered really wowed me other than the beignets. Because of that I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and I would try it again. They did not have a wide alcohol selection which is fine because I did not go for the bar but it did make ordering drinks a little harder and are server was very helpful in offering alternatives. The atmosphere was amazing. As soon as I stepped in, I felt like I was going to enjoy a fun and unique dining experience. The family style serving is perfect to get a little taste of everything you order and I enjoy sharing my food with my date.
tl;dr would try it again with caution
This was out third visit to Mokomady and every time the food was superb and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and wait staff. I highly recommend it for a different take on food. Korean/Cajun fusion just works.
Wonderful meal of shared small plates. Particular favorites were the veal tacos and foie gras dumplings, but everything we tried was very tasty. The Rye #2 cocktail was a nice spin on a Manhattan. Quite a drive from Arlington but worth it!
Amazing menu, very creative. A bit on the pricey side though.
Have been going here for years but this time we noticed most of their staff had turned over which is too bad. Also multiple dishes came out a bit cold like they had been sitting for too long. Definitely will still go back but really hope they can get back to the place they use to be.
Never disappoints! Never!!!

The food, the drink, and the service were exceptional!
There were so many things that I wanted to try but there was only so much space in my body!
A variety of excellent menu options executed to perfection. House made noodles are the highlight, one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. Took 2 out of towners for their first visit and they were blown away. Recommend for any occasion.
Really interesting food combinations that tasted fantastic and were cooked to perfection. The service was fantastic. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Modern feel, and fairly small space, but neat and clean. I also loved that there was a hanging table for little ones in the restroom.
We like this place for its staff and the food. They are a close-knit group with a flair for their customers. The food is good but it is easy to get too much because some of the items are bigger than they look. The dishes are filling but small, so you tend to order more than you really need to fill you up.
Delicious. Very creative
We dine here frequently as the food and service are always wonderful! Our nephew is visiting from Seattle and we brought him here. He loved it!
Fantastic food and service will definitely go back and would recommend
After a couple of sub-terrific consecutive visits, our last visit to Mokomandy was phenomenal! Everything was perfect...food, service, atmosphere. Octopus--albeit not for everyone--was a very nice surprise and one of our new favorite dishes. Our server Laura was fantastic (as usual).
We will be back!
Father’s Day brunch
We went to Moko’s on Father’s Day for their brunch. We’ve had dinner there on many occasions and always love everything we have. This was our first time having brunch and it did not disappoint! The eggs Benedict was amazing and my husband said his corn beef hash was the best he’d ever had. We will be going again. All the staff are friendly and enjoyable to talk to.
we enjoyed our drinks and meal - our waitress was excellent. A rare find in the suburbs!
I love this restaurant. The food is amazing. I look for any excuse to go out to Sterling and eat there.
Outstanding every time we go! Outstanding service, amazing food, wonderful people!
Interesting menu choices designed to share. Everything we tried, Korean and Cajun, was very tasty. It was fairly quiet when we arrived but by 7pm filled up - busy for a Monday night. Good atmosphere without being too loud. First time for all four at our table and we'll all be back.
This restaurant was featured on Check Please, DC, and was highly recommended. We made reservations for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Laura, our server, made excellent recommendations. We enjoyed everything we tried and were glad we celebrated here. BTW, we drove over an hour to come for dinner. We were not disappointed.
Whole experience was fantastic!
Mokomandy is a fusion restaurant with great food and great atmosphere. They have small plates so you can try all different kinds of foods. Highly Recommend!
Mokomandy is a hidden gem! It's in an unassuming shopping center but delivers a creative "Cajun and "Korean non fusion" menu. I especially love the Coush Coush and dutch baby pancake for brunch!
Such a great variety of things. There is something for everyone! The cocktail list is fantastic too. Love this place. You DO NOT believe you are in a strip mall in Cascades.
We come here to relax and enjoy the food. The staff is very friendly, and the cooking is always good. We have come here for the last several years and find it more enjoyable than some of the higher end places around us. We come early so we don’t have the full house that it becomes when it is later in the evening.
