About Moghul Restaurant
NJ's best Indian restaurant since it opened in 1991 as rated by Zagat, Moghul serves authentic North-Indian & Punjabi food.
With a recent renovation, a new bar/wine menu (although you can still bring your own), and the same great food and service, Moghul is the best Oak Tree Road had to offer. The bi-level space can easily be partitioned off for larger groups.
The weekday lunch buffet is priced at $11.95 and the weekend lunch buffet is priced at $15.95, including some favorites from the adjoining Ming Restaurant.

Moghul Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was for a special occasion and I and my family had a great time. They were courteous enough to provide options of Chinese too from the restaurant next door!! Simply wow!!
Great food, nice ambiance and extremely good service. We had a prior reservation booked via Opentable and got to our seat in less than 10 seconds. No discussions required. Cool!!
Please be sure to order traditional Indian deserts like Kulfi. Trust me, you'll love it.
It's been a minute since I have eaten the Sunday Brunch at Moghul. There was a time when this was the place to be for the weekend buffet. We went in expecting the pinnacle of what Indian food was supposed to be and came out so under whelmed. I was so disappointed with the quality of their food. The Chinese items were OK but their main pillar, their bread and butter, the dish that they are know for - Dahl Makhani- was a HUGE disappointment. I didn't come out of the brunch feeling wowed at all. It was another typical place that served typical Indian food. The service, however, is still the same impeccable level of attention paid to the customer.
This is my favorite Indian Restaurant. I have been going to this restaurant for over a decade. Mr. Poudyal (Manager) and his staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. The food is delicious and they can customize the flavor to your preference. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner.
We have been coming here for 15+ years - that should say something. We drive 45 minutes each way for a total driving time of 1.5 hours !
Food was excellent as usual
However, the salted lassi was very sour and we informed the waiter - but the restaurant did not offer to replace it or refund - that's very unfortunate!
Absolutely loved the food at Moghul! The service was stellar, with our waiter offering suggestions that were spot-on. Highly recommend the pepper shrimp appetizer. Very cool cocktail menu, and decent beer and wine options. A little pricey for the amount of food (upcharge for rice?), but excellent food and service. We will be back!
As always, excellent food at the lunch buffet. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Varying degree of spicyness. The food trays are refilled frequently. I suggest you arrive before 2 P.M. if you don't want to feel rushed. The buffet is dismantled a bit before 3 P.M.
This is our second trip to Moghul, for the lunch buffet, in about three weeks. The first time, most of our family conversations went like this, " Did you try this? It's delicious." On that day, unfortunately a parade coming down the street greatly reduced the number of patrons. The place was close to empty, but the buffet still offered an excellent selection of dishes that we very much enjoyed. We went again this past Sunday This time the restaurant was nearly full, he food was still great, the staff was exceedingly friendly, and made sure that we were enjoying everything, and to my surprise, fellow diners, lined up at the buffet also were quite friendly, and willing to explain any dish that was new to us. Overall, we had an excellent experience, and I would recommend Moghul to anyone interested in Indian food.
Moghul was a great find. Was looking for an Indian restaurant that was a bit more upscale for dining with my son's future in-laws. We all loved the food and the exotic drink menu. Some of the items on the menu were strange combinations that you wouldn't see in other Indian restaurants and they didn't disappoint. I would say that the service was attentive and respectful, albeit a bit solemn (we weren't rowdy, but hard to get a smile out of them!). Overall, though, I'd definitely return and recommend to others.
The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding and the prices were outstanding for the amount of food you got in each portion. There were four of us, we sat in front of the kitchen window so we were able to watch them prepare the meals. We ordered a bread combination with 3 choices, 2 appetizers, 2 vegetable dishes-the eggplant and the lentils (incredible) and 3 mains: lamb kabobs, a lamb dish and tikki chicken masala!! I took home 6 pint containers of food and 1/2 the bread!! and we ate that for dinner last nite!
I would HIGHLY recommend the restaurant for Indian food lovers or for people who have never eaten Indian food but want to try it. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get there and will definitely go again!
