Moe's Cantina Wrigleyville
Great place to go before or after a Cubs game. The rooftop is awesome! Great margs and tacos!
Good food and not super busy !!
This was a terrible experience which is unfortunate because the food was actually slightly above average. We came in at around 6 PM, an hour before the Cub game and the restaurant was surprisingly empty which should have been a clue. There were 4 of us and we ordered a round of drinks. 3 of the drinks came. We kept waiting and waiting and finally went to the gentleman by the door who chased down our server who got the drink. The drink that was forgotten was the one where we had a specific discussion about its contents. Than when we ordered, the server did not take notes and failed to successfully get the order correct causing more delays. Finally, it was my wife's birthday. I put that in my reservation and we mentioned it to our server. She said we could get a little something with a candle. It never happened. Despite all of this, the restaurant did not offer to comp anything. I won't be going back.
The atmosphere is very cool. The rooftop was great. The food was pretty spicy for someone who doesn't do much spice. Even the guac was too spicy for me and I love guac. The steak kabob was wonderful. The price was a lot for what you get. The service - very nice but inattentive and had to be requested and repeated, even though the rooftop was nearly empty. Overall - it was a beautiful day in a nice location with great sangria ... but the value for the dollar was subpar.
We sat on the rooftop with one other large group. The bartenders/server were slow to provide service and had an attitude when we went up to change an order that hadn’t been submitted yet, then two of the female bartenders scoffed at my friend.
I’ve been here many times for game day, but was very disappointed with the service this time around and especially for not being busy.
Close. To Wrigley Field. Really liked the shrimp tacos. Quesadilla was fair. Margarita was not super authentic. Price for beer was fair. Nice rooftop.
Good service and good food.
I will never come back here again. Tacos tasted like dog food and drinks had minimal alcohol in it. Worst experience. Would not recommend.
Way too loud. Could not hold a conversation because the music was wayyyy to high! Also, limited menu for a Mexican Food restaurant (and for a Moe's Cantina). Soft tacos and skewers and that's about it. They must not make their own chips because they were stale and tasted like store bought. The queso fundido and salsa were very good. Only redeeming qualities...
What a cool place. We expected to wrestle with a big crowd and be hurried. Quite the opposite. We felt at home and doted on.
Thank you for the awesome 5 star review John! We hope to see you at Moe's Wrigley soon!
Service was friendly and very accommodating. Food was yummy!
Thank you for the awesome 5 star review Grace!
I made this 10/22 back in August. I called several times to confirm my reservation but no one answered and the voicemail was not set up. I showed up early and was informed that Moe's is no longer on Open Table. I showed the manager the reservation and he repeated that Moe's is not on Open Table. I told him I understood Moe's is not now on Open Table but that I made the reservation 2 months ago and never received a cancellation email or phone call. In fact, I received a confirmation email from Open Table on 10/21. The manager said there's nothing he can do for me.
The DJ had the music so loud you could not hear anyone talk. We asked then to turn it down but our request was ignored. The decibel level was unhealthy and we will not return to Moe's
Service was super slow.
Awesome place! Great food. Loud. Hard to talk to your guests but overall great place.
We went before the Cubs game. Loved the atmosphere. Food was good, service was a little slow.
I went with a friend to grab dinner. When the lights went down and music went up, we could no longer enjoy our conversation. I'd go again, but only for a quick drink, then move along.
There is just not enough food serve for the amount they charge. We had to go eat some where else after leaving Moes bar. Defenetely it's good for a drink but not for dinner.
We arrived late due to traffic! they did manage to find us a booth. The waitstaff was really running and we placed our order for drinks and food as soon as someone stopped at out booth. It was super noisy - a lot of TVs with SPORTs showing. We almost had to body slam a waitstaff to get our check. We were in and out in 40 minutes though. enjoyed the shrimp skewers!
I was very pleased with Moe's in that they were very accommodating to my party of four. Driving here from Joliet to watch the Hawks, traffic was horrendous, it took us 2 hours to get to Chicago. It was game two of the Stanley Cup so they were very busy...I called to let them know we would be late, about 30 minutes) and they help my reservation. While there we had a great time. The food was excellent as were the drinks. We tried almost every skewer, it would be difficult to pick my favorite as they were all delicious.
The service was great(Katie), very friendly and not easy that night. This was my second visit here, both times were great.
The waitress was not very attentive. I asked her four times for water and finally received after an hour.
The restaurant was understaffed and our waitress was hardly visible. The food is served tapas style, but after 10 minutes of everyone at our table having food except one person, we were finally able to flag down someone to ask about the last order. It took at least another 15 minutes to get the final plate. I understand that it is tapas style, but waiting 25 minutes (after everyone else has their food) for the final plate to be served is not acceptable. And, the food was sub-par...who serves tortilla chips without salsa? The restaurant did comp the overlooked meal, which was appreciated.
I made a reservation through open table and it was not honored by this restaurant. I'm very dissatisfied.
This is a great spot if you're looking to get drinks and some quick dinner/apps before a night on the town.
This was my first time at Moe'. I found the food and the atmosphere perfect for a pregame party with colleagues. I recommend their meat and seafood skewers.
first, the menu on their website is completely different than what they have. the guacamole was great, the salsa was the worst I ever had, the quesadillas with "steak" was like little hard to chew turds, and the chicken in the flautas was stringy and inedible. don't waste yourtime and/or money on this place!
We met at Moe's as a group of friends looking to have dinner ad drinks before heading to a show later that night. The music was so loud we couldn't hear our waitress or better yet the person sitting across from you. I would not suggest going here if you are wanting to actually talk to the people you are with.
