Ambiance nice, food good, overpriced, awful service!
Had family in from out of town. Waitress never came by besides to take our order and hand us the bill. Food was bland. There was a stem (no leaves or anything) in my cocktail. We sat with dirty dishes piled rather high on our table the entire meal.
Drinks aren’t very strong and the noise level is high. Food was good.
Worst service ever, food quality is one of the worst mexican, it is very loud , you can’t hear the what you talk.
Waited 20 mins for check to arrive, asked for water and never served
We have been taking groups to Moe's for a few years now, our out of town trainees love the apps, lobster tacos and the hanging meat skewers. Service is generally solid, Brittany is awesome for the larger groups she is very attentive to the needs of larger groups.
Everyone I was with really enjoyed their meals and the cocktails were also delicious. I recommend the Moe Mule. However, I do not recommend the de Flautus :) as that dish was not great. The guacamole is delish as well.
Very disappointed. We had a business dinner with the majority of the team from overseas. Everyone got carded upon entry. The 8 of use were seated at a pub table intended for 6. Drinks took over an hour to be served and 2 of us had white wine which was warm. We were going to order starters but after the drinks finally came, we decided to go ahead and start the dinner order instead. Dinner was mediocre - 2 of us ordered skewers and they insisted on hanging them on hangers - the table had no room for. I've eaten here before and was very happy this was not up to the prior quality of service - I was quite embarrassed.
The service was horrible. The specials listed on the website, were not accurate to what the server was telling us. The server took forever to bring drinks and food. Everyone’s food came and different times, by the time everyone got their food, it was cold. I will not be returning, huge disappointment.
Unfortunately we had terrible service, and inconsistent cocktails. Ambiance was fun and the food was pretty good.
I made a reservation well in advance for my group (which was during Neocon). First off, I was disappointed with the fixed/limited menu offering, and I should have been informed of this prior to our lunch reservation. Secondly, when the hostess took us to our table, there were other people (not from my group) seated at our table, so that was a bit awkward. My biggest issue, however, was the ridiculously slow service. It took way too long to get our drinks - I had to repeatedly ask for add'l chips and salsa, small plates and napkins, and several of my guests went without water. The most frustrating part, however, was the time that it took to have our order placed. We waited 40 minutes for our server to return to our table (and that was after 2 trips to the hostess stand asking for her to send our server to our table asap). Then it was another 30 minutes for the food to arrive (and again, I had to ask for place settings, salsa, and for another drink order). Two of my guests had to leave without finishing their lunches, as they had to get to an appt. at the Mart. It was very apparent that the restaurant was unprepared for and under-staffed. The food was mediocre. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone that I know, and we won't be returning next year.
We went with a group, so their pitchers of margaritas were perfect for the occasion. The food was a bit overpriced though, and the service could have been a little more frequent.
Carne Asada Tacos were horrible!. Giant piece of gristle in one taco. Meat was tough and bland. Salsa was tasty, but had absolutely no heat. Al Pastor Tacos were better but seemed a bit undercooked, not raw but could have been cooked more. Again the Salsa did nothing for the Tacos we had. The cost overall did seemed high for what we got.
Did not appreciate that this was more of a nightclub than a restaurant. Incredibly loud but great food and drink menu!
I put in a note that it was my girlfriend birthday and nothing was said or done for her.
Our server was always no where to be found all most the entire night. She never brought out the dessert for the birthday person. Then later she says she can’t kitchen is closed. We could not find her for about 40min. 2 of
Our guests never got to even order their food. We even had to chase her down for the check and took another 30min to bring check to our table! We had to order drinks at the bar while searing at our table. Food was decent I liked it and drinks were tasty service needs to be stepped up a bit
Food was OK. Big portions but poor quality. Service was very poor. The waitress was non-existent except for when we initially sat down. She told us that chips and salsa was on its way to the table...and then we waited 10 minutes for them and we had to ask for them two more times. The same thing happened when we asked for another round of chips and salsa...except this time she told us the extra serving of salsa would be an extra charge. We agreed to the extra charge for the additional serving of salsa. Then the salsa came by itself with no chips. And we had to ask 2 people (server and bus boy) for more chips so we could eat the salsa. The place was virtually empty at 12:30 pm during lunch. Not surprised.
We had a great experience at Moe’s cantina- river north!
Easy simple menu, great taste, yummy, nicely priced drinks. The crowd is nice the music is great. Will recommend!
The service and food was good. The prices were a bit high.
Went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and graduation. They advertise on their website $2 tacos and $3 drinks for happy hour; Saturday from 4-7. When we get there the server says that’s not accurate and tells me I’m wrong and must have been thinking of a different location (I confirmed that it indeed said River North). I was embarrassed because I told the whole group there would be this deal. Also, after asking for more chips and salsa we found out that we were charged $4 for each helping and we were never notified by our server that we would be charged. Overall the service was not good and I’m writing this review because my emails have gone unanswered for over a week now.
Busy, fun spot. Very large open space. Good taco choices. More bar than restaurant it seems as the weekend night wears on.
Food was ok but it seems to me the 2nd and 3rd margarita I had lacked alcohol.
I have never had a worse experience at Moes. We came with a large party to view a backetball game
Good fair. Service fair. You get a large basket of chips and like a 2 tablespoons serving of salsa but if you ask for more salsa, they charge you extra-ridiculous!!
This place was awful. If you want a drink you're going to wait 20 to 25 minutes. I don't know where the waitresses go. They kept saying it was busy. Not true. I went up to the bar and got a drink within 5 minutes. And it took our waitress 20 to 25 minutes. Couldn't even get refills on water. The music so was so loud you couldn't even hear or be able to talk to someone next to you. The only thing good about this place was the guacamole. Everything else was awful high price horrible portions the food was not good at all. Don't go to any of their other locations. Reviews are all the same awful can't find a drink for 20-25 minutes. This place will be closed in about a year or two
My tilapia fish tacos were dry. The service was decent - our server was kind but she seemed like the only one taking care of multiple tables so it was slow. Our water was filled only when we received the bill. If it weren’t for Spring Rewards I probably wouldn’t be coming back for dinner unless Its happy hour. This seems like a good place for drinks like margaritas (I regret not trying). I’ve also been here before later in the night and the environment is definitely Lots of fun.
I had my 30th Birthday dinner here and the environment was perfect. The music the food the people it was a really nice
Had a taste for Mexican on Valentine's. Ordered the Bistec a la Tampiquena to share. Told the waitress he'll eat the enchiladas & I'll make tacos with the steak. The dish came without tortillas. Had to ask a busboy to ask our waitress to come over as she was either on her phone or talking to someone. We asked for the tortillas that didn't come with the meal, more salsa, sour cream, lime, a glass of water without a chip in the glass, & a refill of Coke. Apparently extra salsa & sour cream costs extra $ so we said forget it. Steak was good but the chicken in the enchiladas was tough. Received the bill & were charged $2 for tortillas. Asked our waitress why the charge? Apparently tortillas do not come with "Grilled 6oz. skirt steak, four oven-roasted chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, corn TORTILLAS, tomatillo salsa." Huh. Honestly won't be back as feel nickel & dimed. Oh & the rest of the menu is tapas shared style. $16 for just a skewer of meat or just 4 tacos? Unfortunately the quality does not suffice the cost.
It’s beautiful inside however, the service was pretty bad. The seats are uncomfortable and when we asked to move to the booths we were told no. There were about 4 booths vacant during our time there which was about 2 hours.
Had a great time with friends there. Food is great. Must try try there Pastor tacos. They're one of the best we've tasted. Our waitress was on point and very attentive to us all night. Definitely will be going back..
They kicked us out.. not very nicely
Moe's Cantina overall was sub-par. It was a nice, well-decorated place and it has lots of TVs. Not all the food was flavorful, especially the margaritas, However the tacos were good. The service wasn't great. Overall, probably won't come back...
Food was very good. Service not so much. You get chips but no salsa. Instead they gave us a sample of their soup in an expresso cup. I had to order salsa. Ok odd but she told me I would be charged for it and I told her that was fine.
After waiting 15 minutes I asked waitress about the salsa. She was very put out that I asked and told me she put in the order and it would come out when ready. I told her that seemed odd since most people eat the chips with salsa while waiting for food. She avoided us after that. In the end, they charged us $0.75 for salsa. Really? This place is a little upscale so I thought an odd approach for salsa ... what I consider a staple in a Mexican restaurant.
Very mediocre food
The food and drinks were amazing! I love this place but the service unfortunately is hit or miss. Our server was very nice but equally inefficient. The drinks took a while because their amazing hand-made margaritas were time consuming to make and we were understanding of that. There should have probably been two service bartenders considering it was a busy Saturday night but that is not something anyone could have controlled. Well I guess management could but for all I know someone called off or got sick. What I don’t understand is why our server took half the tables drink order and then would come back for the other half when drinks were finally ready. Also why she asked if we would like more chips and then never brought them or why she forgot an entree. I guess an entree could be left out with a large party by mistake but had she ever come back to see if our food was ok she would have known that. Instead I had to finally walk the restaurant just to find her standing in the hostess station chatting. They did comp the meal and that is appreciated. I just think it could have been avoided or resolved more quickly had she been more attentive to our party. I would even be more understanding had she been running around helping multiple tables but she didn’t seem to have too many left. So like I said, nice but inefficient.
The shrimp tacos were delicious!
Great Location, good food. Thanks for a good experience.
It's a decent experience. The restaurant is pretty and cozy. The food is good, but overpriced. Went with a group of 9, they put us on such a big round table that it became very hard to interact with each other. We had to either yell or get up and walk over to the person across the table. The service was good, but if you go with a bigger group they won't separate the check which becomes very incovinient since later at night some wanted to leave and some wanted to stay. The music is good. Overall I would recommend.
Great area for watching sporting events. Good drinks and good food.
Great place if you don't like food, service, or the sound on for sporting events.
Very good food & prices are reasonable. But ... WAY TOO LOUD! The DJ music was so loud we could barely hear each other. More akin to a club than dining... I just don't understand why the music is so loud at these places. Everyone's practically yelling just to be heard. I have an idea: turn the volume down, and the experience is much better.
