Moerlein Lager House
the banks of the Ohio River at this world-class restaurant and brewery.
Prominently situated in the dynamic Smale Riverfront Park, the Moerlein Lager House offers a guest experience unlike any other—a working microbrewery producing a full line of Moerlein craft brews, and delectable fare featuring grain spent breads, hand-carved sandwiches, and smoked rotisserie meats… foods reminiscent of those served in the city’s celebrated 19th century beer gardens.
I think the food has changed. New chef? Menu? Owner? In the past I thought I liked but the food this time was bad for most of us. Everything so cheap, bad quality, 2 different salads were gross. No color just yellowish cheap lettuce with boring protein. Was actually scheduled to take some work folks this week but now I’m canceling reservation.
Excellent for groups of family and friends. Great menu, food and service. We will be back!
food was excellent, service was slow, but overall really liked the place!
Had there Ribeye. Worst steak I ever had was tough and not very tasty.
Thank you for an amazing experience- we had a large group of 12 and the service, ambiance and food were all top notch. This is a great place to bring out of town guests and show off our beautiful city. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back!
MLH is one of my favorite locations in Cincinnati. Great food, great beer and awesome location.
I booked this reservation for a birthday. I called twice and neither time was I told that we were going to be sitting at 2 separate tables. Just wish they could have told me so I was aware we weren’t all going to be sitting together.
The Moerlein Irish Cream Coffee Porter is one of the best beers I've ever had, and I would strongly encourage the brewery to add that beer to its regular lineup. For food, I usually have the beer can chicken melt each visit as it's a very good sandwich. We typically visit four or five times each year, and it's always an enjoyable visit with great beers and good food.
Love the beer made by Moerlein and the location and restaurant is very nice. We have consistently had great service throughout the last 4 years we’ve gone. I didn’t love the menu choices this last time around but it was still a nice dinner.
Wasn’t super impressed here and it was our first time. My grandma got the prime rib and it looked like prime rib they’d serve in a hospital, it was suuuper fatty and not even hot. I got the pork shank which was pretty good nothing to write home about. My grandpa got the ribs and he said they were just okay nothing special. Sat with empty glasses some of the time during our dinner and barely saw our server. Wouldn’t come back except for a beer, apps, and the view.
The food and beer were fantastic. The service wasn't that great. We came in before the table next to us, but they got their food before we did. The server was also slow to ask us if we wanted more to drink.
I had reservations made in conjunction with friends that had other reservations. Moerlein did an excelletnt job of sitting us all together and handling the resulting large group - THANKS! The only disappointment was that because it was the weekend they only serve their dinner menu. Even after looking back, I did not see anywhere that said their lunch menu is not served on the weekends. So, they pricing was higher than we had anticipated.
Service and drinks were good, food was barely edible.
Another birthday party handled fantastically. Party of 15 and only one complaint... Get rid of the paper straws. Each child had to get additional straws because they fall apart. Every appetizer, meal and dessert was cooked perfectly. Steaks were tender, fish was crisp, recommended drinks were delicious and that creme brulee was the creamiest I've ever had with a perfectly crisp carmelized sugar top. We had 2 servers, Taylor and ?, I forget the others name ☹️ and they were very professional with great personalities. They both recommended which drinks and appetizers were good and made this crazy, loud, fun, loving family feel comfortable. Thank you again.
My dads birthday
This was our first time at Moerlein house for brunch and it was delicious!
Food was ok. Chicken was dry. Server was nice, but service was slow.
Very good food and service. Saturday night , restaurant was busy, our waitress was attentive and polite, very good overall experience!
Great service & great food. Booking through Open Table was really easy & restaurant was ready for our large party.
I love going to the Moerlein Lager House. Food is great, beer is great and the service is amazing. I'm proud to claim that I'm a repeating customer and will continue to being one.
Not during peak times, service was too slow, and noise level was deafening.
Disappointed by the host who was not helpful when we were unhappy with our seating placement. We were told we could not have other tables we preferred because of other reservations. Several of the other tables remained empty during our entire meal. The push back was unnecessary and made the start of our meal uncomfortable. The server was very good so none of the low ratings are due to that service. It was strictly the host.
The food was excellent. The quantity of food was so much had to take home with me. I would recommend eating here, there such a variety on the menu.
Great food and beer selection. Staff is excellent. View is amazing at night
Dinner was delicious, beautiful view of the river from the dining room.
Food here is always good. Had drinks, appetizers and then dinner before the Elton John Concert. The short ribs and pork shank with their mashed potatoes were delicious. The caprese flatbread and fried pickles and peppers were also very good. Good beer, great food and service, can't ask for anything more. Thanks again!
Food and service was awesome. Will tell all family and friends to eat there. Will be back for the excellent food.
Out to dinner and drinks before the Elton John concert with my Husband and parents. Our server was named Alex and he was a delight!! We loved the environment and will definitely will be back!
Wonderful food. Great atmosphere for a dinner out with friends.
Paid a visit prior to concert at US Bank arena. Service was excellent. Very courteous and prompt. Beer is the best part! Burger was good. Flatbread with pepperoni and sausage was very greasy.
Great food and atmosphere for business lunches or formal dinners. Food is great and the beers are even better. Nice views of the Ohio river and downtown Cincinnati. Order a cheese board appetizer to include the goat cheese fritter. Anything with short rib is a definite win.
Moerlein Lager House offers a scenic view of the Ohio River and close to the Bengals and Reds stadiums. The ambiance and interior of Moerlein is open, clean and modern. The waitresses were cheerful and helpful. The food served to the party was excellent.
Went for my son’s birthday. Food was delicious and service was great.
We frequently eat here and it's one of our top 3 places to eat in Cincinnati. Service and food are always great and we really enjoy the atmosphere. Cant wait til summer so we can sit out on the patio and enjoy the weather.
It was a little loud but the service and the food was outstanding. Would definitely go back.
It was nice to have a reservation before the Eric Church concert! They got us right in and out! Food was really good!
They didn’t honor our reservation at the Rome or even at all. I got a text 20 minutes after our reservation time that our table was almost ready and then never got another text again. We found bar seating so we were able to eat but with 8 people were spread out and not the experience we’d hoped for. The hostesses were rude and not very informative.
Salmon Oscar is outstanding! We will definitely return!
Great view, great food and great beer. Recommend the meat and cheese tray.
