Moerlein Lager House
the banks of the Ohio River at this world-class restaurant and brewery.
Prominently situated in the dynamic Smale Riverfront Park, the Moerlein Lager House offers a guest experience unlike any other—a working microbrewery producing a full line of Moerlein craft brews, and delectable fare reminiscent of those served in the city’s celebrated 19th century beer gardens.

Loved the beers - I was only interested in their own varieties - and really good food. Place was nearly empty due to being 3 hours away from shutting down due to all Ohio restaurants being closed for the virus situation, thus the "quiet" rating!
Server was excellent - knew the beers, optimal food pairings, and was attentive but not overbearing.
I'll be back when I'm in the area next time.
Everything was perfect! Thank you!
With the pandemic my husband and I still wanted to get out for dinner as we planned a week prior.
VERY impressed with the staff and how they made us feel comfortable. We sat at the upstairs bar before being seated for dinner and all our servers were amazing.
Thank you for all the hard work to contain the touching of table items and keeping space with tables.
The food and beer here are delicious! Our waitstaff were very accomodating and friendly. The only problem was the noise factor - so loud! I've eaten here during the summer, out on the terrace, and noise isn't a factor then. This time we were inside because it's winter. A lot of modern restaurants have this issue so it will never deter me from visiting.
Service was great. Manager stopped by a couple of times to check on us but Emily was doing an impeccable job. Steak Frites was delicious as was the Southern Hemisphere on draft.
Wings were awesome. Steak frites too!!
Enjoyed service, food and ambience. Got chance to speak with my colleague and spend good time over lunch
Nothing special in the city happening and food took forever. Took care of the slowness at least. Might, said might be back. Jury still out because of food speed
My daughter’s 20th birthday celebration. We had a great view of the river and bridge from our table. I was very pleased! Also, Pam was wonderful when I needed to adjust my reservation. She was super friendly and helpful.
Had 3 friends from out of town in for the beerfest and had dinner beforehand. We were given a table by the window which had a amazing view. Our server Ashley was awesome and the food and beer was great.
I've been going to Moerlein for about 5 years now and when I first started going, it was amazing. Recently, however, I feel the quality of food has slipped. It also takes forever to be served. For me, the cost is not worth the long wait times for sub-par food. Unfortunately, I will no longer be going back.
The Moerlein House is beautiful and we love the large windows everywhere over looking the city, the river, etc. I have been there many times and have not been disappointed. This time the service was just OK. The waitress might have been new. She didn't seem to know the beer menu well. One of the guests in our party asked her opinion on a lighter beer. The one she recommended and he ordered was a dark lager. She then seemed to want to hurry us out. After our meal she did offer dessert but then just brought our check. We planned to have additional drinks, coffee. So we did order our after dinner drinks but she had to run another check.....The service just felt awkward.

Great place, excellent staff, beautiful view, and the food was very good too!
Thanks, Jacob! We appreciate the great review. Please come back again soon!
We have been to the Moerlein Lager House many times. This was our first disappointing experience. 3 out of 7 dinner orders were incorrect. The drink order had to be modified twice, due to equipment issues behind the bar, and product availability issues. Service was slow, apparently due to challenges in the kitchen. The manager did apologize for the issues with the dinner order, and our server did his best under difficult circumstances. We will try again at a future date, to see if it was a one time blip.

We easily made reservations that morning and upon arrival requested and were seated at the window. Beautiful views, great food and excellent service.
Mediocre food and service.
Brought together a large group to have dinner before the heartball downtown.
There were some minor service issues but the meal was mostly enjoyable. The prices may be a bit high for what you are getting although my party did enjoy their food. The location and ambiance help out with some of the other issues. This is more of a splurge type restaurant for me than a frequent dining establishment.
Good service and love the atmosphere. You get a great view of the city with your meal. I got the Salmon Oscar and it was phenomenal. Two others ordered the filet and both said it was one of the best they'd ever had. All around great experience- we'll be back!
Fun, energetic place with great views, delicious food and friendly, efficient service. Loved everything about this place: 1) there is an affordable parking garage right underneath; 2) they take reservations;
3) we were seated within 5 minutes of reservation time; 4) our table was roomy and comfortable with nice views; 5) the appetizer and dinner sizes were quite generous; 6) food and drinks were yummy; and 7) our server was delightful. We (family of four) all relished our appetizers, meals, and desserts. Two ordered specialty beers and enjoyed them. Our server, Datasia, never stopped smiling; she really seems to enjoy her job. Checked on us just the right amount of times. Not only did she not flinch when we asked her to take our family photo, she made us feel like celebrities; like we were the only people she was there to take care of. When we placed our order, we asked for another meal to take home with us. She made sure it was ready when we were finished. Every dining establishment should have a Datasia working for them. We were visiting Cincinnati from Philadelphia and are so happy we chose to spend our Saturday evening at Moerlin Lager House.
Other then the 30min wait after we were seated, the food and atmosphere was exceptional!
My wife and I have been dining here a couple of times per year since the year the restaurant opened. Over the years, the quality of food and menu choices have declined.
My husband and I went to dinner with my daughter and her boyfriend. We enjoyed are food and drinks very much. My only complaint was the poutine appetizer wasn’t very warm. The service was very good as well. Would definitely go back.
Just all around great experience, service, amazing food and a great view. Love this place!
This was a last minute choice for a road trip stop. The location is great and would definitely be a great choice before or after a game.
We had a great time and the view was amazing from our second floor table. The food was excellent - our server wasn’t the best / seemed to be having one of those nights. All in all it was a great time!
The entree was not as good as I was expecting.
Moerlein Lager House was amazing except for the fact that the "reservation" on open table wasn't even really a reservation. We went in and said we had a reservation and still had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. That kind of ruins the whole point, does it not?
