Modo Mio - Pacific Palisades
From the moment diners are greeted, as they enter the Pacific Palisades, California location, they are enveloped into a haven of warmth and hospitality. George and company are dedicated to creating and serving superb Northern Italian specialties, to their devoted clientele, in an ambiance that is both inviting and relaxing.
In the virtual world where we live, favour human relationships; so when you come to Modo Mio, let yourself go on a journey of flavors, let us advise you and let us guide you, let yourself to be pampered... Let us do.
Small patio area but so worth eating there and getting freshly made food served by an enthusiastic server. Bravo.
I just moved back to the area after being away for 20yrs.
Loved Modo Mio then, did not disappoint now!
First time I felt comfortable to eat at a restaurant! Wonderful!
So lovely! Following social distancing guidelines, we were outside only wonderful food quality reminiscent of trips to Italy.
authentic and perfect
Most friendly and lovely ambience to take my daughter on Father's day evening.
It was a lovely evening and our waiter was terrific !
Our food was beautifully served and was truly delicious. The restaurant was not crowded for a weekday, so noise around us was minimized. Unfortunately, we don’t live in the area, but I’ll definitely soon take the long ride down Sunset to eat some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had in LA.
If you are an elderly person (no disrespect) this will be a perfect place for you. Restaurant is overheated, smell of something burning in their kitchen, plastic plates for butter. Food has absolutely no flavor. Zero. We ordered 4 different entry dishes all advertised to be cooked in different spices and ingredients and all had zero flavor. Beef carpaccio cane with beef sliced so thin that we couldn’t even taste the beef and wet arugula on top. Since I am not watching my sodium intake and still have my taste buds this was the worse italian restaurant I have ever been to, especially for the price.
Very delicious food. Really enjoyed the crab and lobster filled ravioli special.
Both the gnocchi my wife had and the ravioli I had were overcooked and mushy. I find it frustrating to get pasta that is not al dente at an Italian restaurant.
Everything was good but the branzini was overcooked and had no flavor
Service excellent as always
I always enjoy the quiet and friendly setting; especially if we sit by the window on the right. I have had large group parties with my family and friends and have had a great time. Their bottomless mimosas are an elegant way of spending an early dinner brunch on a sunny Sunday after Mass. And their lunch menu is always inviting on a week day break. And their handmade pastas always light and savory specially with an extra garlic touch....yum yum.
Always reliable. Veal Milanese, the rigatoni w/eggplant, lamb chops, and wonderful owners/hosts.
We were seated at station #10; a charming , intimate corner table that concealed kirchen activity and sounds.
We ordered two entrees. The complete , cooked Dover Sole was delivered to our table for our perusal ansd approval. Then it was returned to the kitchen to be filetted before being served to us. It was perfectly seasoned; perfectly prepared and although it is a thin fish, it remained moist and flavorful.
The second entree was grilled , herbed, loin lamb chops , ordered to be prepared medium. And this too was perfectly prepared with a warm, pink center. We requested al dente olive oil/ garlic linguine. It was an excellent accompaniment. Their Tolusa Pinot Noir contributed to being a delightful complimentary dining partner.
Service throughout was impeccable, friendly, engaging , knowledgeable and timely during the course of our evening which ended with a double espresso and tiramisu, Kalua soaked lady fingers. This was our sweet denouement.
Our Pali graduation celebration was perfect, everyone loved the food!
Love Modo Mio in Pacific Palisades because it is consistently good. The servers have been there for
years, which I love and they are always friendly and professional!
We always enjoy Modo Mio. Excellent food. Excellent service. It is great place to meet with friends for a meal.
It was a delicious dinner and well served by an attentive and experienced waiter. Between us we had the fresh branzino, a lasagna and a risotto. All were well prepared. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. The room is quiet and we weren't fighting the noise of other diners nor of loud music. A pleasure!
Modo Mio is a perfect example of what a neighborhood restaurant should be. The atmosphere is ideal, casual, service is good, and food is well cooked and predictable. It is very comfortable.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with delicious takes on traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine. Great service and good selections from a standard menu and seasonal/daily specials.
This is a longtime neighborhood standby for us. We probably go three times a month. The room is actually quite beautiful, the staff members are nice, and the food is excellent. Highly recommended: risotto del padre (chicken and asparagus), chicken Siciliano, and a great Bolognese sauce that can be had with any pasta shape.
Modo Mio never disappoints! Fantastic food and service.
Modo Mio is, hands down, the best restaurant in the Palisades. If you close your eyes, you would swear you are in Italy. The food is as favorable, the aroma is as tantalizing and the variety is as great as any fine restaurant in Rome. The servers are a perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness, the service is provided at a perfect pace and the other diners are polite. I would eat there every day if I could, and often lunch there two to three times a week when possible. No-one I've ever dined with has had anything but a perfect meal!!
A lovely restaurant for lunch or dinner. The food is consistently good. The shaved artichoke salad is wonderful. Veal Milanese is outstanding.
My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Modo Mio. My seafood was superb and my wife loved her ravioli. The service was attentive, but not overbearing.
Great food, a real find. Feels like a small neighborhood restaurant but has really good quality and tasty Italian food. Desserts were also amazing, especially the chocolate flourless cake and the apple tart.
Reliable basic Italian in a quiet pleasant setting. Lack of noise is the chief attraction when choosing among other options.
Modo Mio food is always surprisingly good. Location is "cowntown Pacifica Palisades" and parking very convenient. Value is excellent. Relaxed atmosphere and Very comfortable.
The hostess a female brown hair was really rude. It's like we were bothering her to seat us. Then later on in the night we asked her something and again was really snippy. But we had a fabulous waiter and busboy. Food was good not amazing but worth the price. Very quiet so we could enjoy our friends.
Always perfect service and food. Love the Dover sole!!!!
This was probably an off night for this restaurant, as we had dined there before.
On Sunday, my entrée was cold (it was one I had ordered previously, so I know what it should be like).
We had to ask the waiter for plates for our shared appetizer--grilled vegetables. He was not real happy to provide them.
Dishes at our table were not picked up.
Modo Mio is a friendly neighborhood gem with delicious Northern Italian cuisine. Great pastas, delicious meat dishes like chicken Milanese, scottadito (lamb chops) and fish like Branzino. The room is cozy and feels like a country home. A lovely choice for friends and family
The food was very. The help was accomdating. It is convenient for parking near the elevator. I had banana squash soup that was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Modo Mio has always been our family s favorite place in The Palisades.
Though it changed ownership several years ago the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the staff make it very enjoyable.
Love Modo MIo. Dependable and delicious. Great for special occasions or if simply if you want a great meal with service.
Delicious food with a lovely ambience. We love Modo Mio.
Neighborhood gem. Our waiter, Sean, was very attentive and made good recommendations regarding the menu items and specials.
Wonderful neighborhood spot
Food, service selections all excellent. we live in Ventura county and always eat at Modo Mio when we are in the area. Sept. 21 we dined here after taking out of town friends to the Getty Villa. Perfect end to a wonderful day!
