I went there for my Birthday with my wife and two close friends. We go out often but being from the Hudson River side of the County we rarely get across! Our friends have been there a few times and suggested it as something different. Actually knowing the owners thru my former stereo business career in Armonk gave me the impetus to give it a try. Was well worth it and will definitely make the trip again! We all enjoyed every bit of it, especially the Lobster Mac & Cheese, although I would suggest them using a little less salt! For Non- Salt adders we noticed! But we finished it anyways!!
Had eaten at Moderne Barn before and we’re expecting a good meal. The flatbread pizza was very good but downhill from there. Seafood risotto had no seafood. Crib crusted cod was flavorless. One of our party got violently ill later that night. Calls to the manager went to voicemail and were never amswered. Not a way to handle a issuable serious issue. Won’t be going back.
The restaurant is beautiful and very warm and cozy. The menu is quite varied and inventive. Loved the flatbread pizza.
Very busy Saturday night but the staff managed to cope pretty well. Great variety on the menu, food order was taken promptly and arrived in reasonable time given how busy they were. had the poke and the octopus as starters and both were outstanding. Reasonable portion sizes (ie not outlandishly big). Main my dinner guest had a pizza and I had a salad with steak, both were very good. its a good wine list but it trends on the expensive, particularly for US wine. I've been before and will certainly come again.
Food was creative and tasty. Love the decor. Noise level was very high
I have not been here in a while. Was very disappointed. Maybe we should not have gone on a Monday night? My fish was undercooked, and no one at our table of 5 was exceedingly happy with the food. And for the prices, I have to say we are out.
Average New Year's Eve Dinner
Overall this was an average dinner that did not really justify the $105 per person price. The 3 courses were neither bad nor great, so the average description is right on the mark. We were fortunate to be seated upstairs which has a nice ambiance, more spacing and less noise than the main level. Our server was good and attentive, but I have given a low service rating because the restaurant did not keep their reservations straight and erroneously complained to Open Table that I did not honor my reservation. As a result I got a "dressing down" email from Open Table on New Year's day and had to explain that I was there with proof of my check and table numbers
Please note my rating on the food is objective and not influenced by the poor restaurant reservation service. However reservation service matters and it is thus fair to mention here.
Music MUCH TOO LOUD. Had to move table just to have conversation. Food came out to quick making feel a little rushed. Otherwise food was very good and wait staff friendly.
