Moderne Barn Ratings and Reviews
It's been a while since we have dined here. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The service was very attentive and considering there was a snow storm, the place was still packed. We loved the popcorn shrimp and the white clam pizza. The black bass over risotto was delicious. We dined upstairs which us a first for us and we liked the intimacy and how easy it was to converse. We will not wait as long to return.
We had a great experience. This place is so beautiful...very warm and romantic. The service was awesome, very attentive and friendly. The food was so amazing! We loved how everything came out hot and spaced out nicely from appetizer to main course. We’ll definitely be back!
The Food was not as good this time as it has been in the past. The scallops were drowning in a sauce that camouflaged their flavor and the filet mignon was not cooked to the temperature that I ordered. The mixed drink and wine were good. Because I've had good food there in the past, I would go back. However, because the food did not meet my expectations this time, I'm reluctant to recommend it.
Moderne Barn never disappoints. Whether you want a great burger or a creative foodie dish it’s always great. The service is always friendly as well as accomadting any changes you want to make to the dish. The vibe is hip and lively. And the Christmas decorations are always beautiful.
As. Always, the food at Moderne Barn was on spot. I had a tortellini dish, my wife had the cavatelli with a short-rib ragu and my son had the rib eye steak. All were delicious and cooked to perfection. The sommelier suggested a great wine that was extremely reasonable in price. The service was perfect, never obtrusive, but always there with fresh bottle if water or to top off the wine glass. The staff is friendly and cheerful. Truly one of our favorite Westchester restaurants.
When we arrived, the hostess and waiter gave each other a knowing look and then they tried to seat us upstairs which has no charm and mostly families with kids. I guess they knew that had a pretty good chance of not being acceptable, but they wanted to give it a try anyway. We ended up with a nice table in the pleasant downstairs room. Our waitress wasn't rude, but was cold and had no charm. She basically dropped our food in front of us and showed no interest in our meal otherwise. The food was mostly good, but nothing exceptional. Overall, a disappointing experience.
I went to Moderne Barn over the weekend with my parents for dinner. My dad had received a gift card and wanted to try it out. Our reservation was at 5 and when we arrived the place was empty. We were a little nervous lol but with in the hour the restaurant started to pack up. The food and service was excellent. The restaurant is already decorated for Christmas. It had a nice and cozy feeling to it. My dad said he would be back soon. That is big for him to say!
fun experience.........would of preferred seating downstairs in main room.........was very loud upstairs. Service was great.....food excellent....... had the duck and tuna.........my wife had scallops...which were almost too big. Did feel a bit rushed...... get us in and get us out......but not overly. Overall......a nice experience..........very pleasant surprise.
First visit on a Sunday night during Restaurant week. I was impressed that they posted their restaurant week menu and portions were plentiful. The food was delicious and our table had salmon, chicken and filet mignon- everyone was very happy. Desserts- brownie and lemon cheesecake- were fantastic. Young screaming baby was nearby unfortunately. Our table was upstairs near elevator which was not good- it was cold when elevator door opened and we had to keep moving to let people oit and pass by our table. I would probably choose downstairs.
The atmosphere is remarkable. Looks like a barn turned into a modern, updated restaurant with two floors. The restaurant is huge, but your table is very close to the other tables, and the noise is very loud. The loudness is mostly from all the tables being filled and everyone talking. The service was spectacular, but we probably had four people taking care of us for the evening. The food was spectacular!! Delicious shrimp bisque for my appetizer, and the meatballs looked amazing as well. The entree was perfect size, not too big and not too small- i had filet mignon, mashed potatoes and string bean- all excellent! Everything was great and i love coming here for restaurant week.
We went as part of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Delicious meals (salmon and chicken) and generous portions. Service was a bit discombobulated, but nice and caring. They comped us an extra appetizer to apologize for the mains coming out before our apps. Fabulous wine list, too, by the way!
A friend and I went for the first time during Restaurant Week. The choices for Appetizer, entree and dessert were perfect. I had the fried popcorn rock shrimp as my appetizer and it was served uniquely on a small plate with the shrimp "tumbling" out of a small take out container-cute! It was fabulous! I had filet mignon for my entree that was cooked to perfection and raspberry and lemon sorbet for dessert. Definitely a lot of bang for my buck-$32.95 per person. We'll be headed back again soon. Great service and personable staff. We left there full and content.
I always enjoy this restaurant; the food is excellent. I have dined there for lunch during restaurant week and am always pleased. They do not skimp on their choices just because of the lower prices during that time as many other Westchester restaurants seem to do.
On November 6th, My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday at Moderne Barn. We took advantage of the restaurant week menu. I must say immediately after seeing Moderne Barn as one of the choices for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, I immediately made reservations. We were impressed by the decor, quality of food and service. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and return again. Thank you!!!!
Went here for a dinner date with my husband and my request of not having a table where we're sitting across each other was granted thank you so much for that. Place was a bit busy considering it was restaurant week. The service was on point, except for a lot of silverware were dropped on the floor by different servers and busser in course of the night but other than that the team was very attentive. We both ordered form the HVRW menu and every single thing we ordered was impeccable, we even ordered their pretzel bites on the side and that was also very good, 6 pcs. of it wasn't enough. We left that place really happy and will be coming back.
Such a reliable experience each time we dine at MB! The service was particularly good at this lunch, and there are some new additions to the menu my dining companion very much enjoyed. The salads (sorry, guys, thats what we ate mostly) are fresh with interesting ingredients and delish shrimp. I could eat here everyday!
