We went on a Monday night for my friend's birthday which wasn't recognized even though I specified ahead of time. We started with a prawn appetizer which was very good. 2 jumbo whole prawns on top of mashed yucca. Very good. I had the pork chop, also very good, served with provolone polenta. The chop was supposed to be thick, which it was but there were 2 bones, so really it was 2 chops cut as one. The presentation of my plate was not good. The sauce that covered the pork chop was brown, and although very tasty, spread over half the plate so you couldn't see the chop, and the polenta was the same like they took a large spoonful and slapped it on the plate. My friend had the scallops over some cabbage mixture which she said was very good although the scallops looked very greasy on the dish. She said they weren't. It was quite expensive. The meal with one glass of wine, and 2 coffees was $150 for 2 of us. The service was fine, nothing special. The restaurant itself was very interesting, and just as the name says, a modern barn kind of. I think the best thing was the wine I had, and the fact they served my side of spinach in a cast iron ramekin that kept it hot, which vegetables never are. Overall, it was good and I would try again, but only when I really plan on spending.

I went there for my Birthday with my wife and two close friends. We go out often but being from the Hudson River side of the County we rarely get across! Our friends have been there a few times and suggested it as something different. Actually knowing the owners thru my former stereo business career in Armonk gave me the impetus to give it a try. Was well worth it and will definitely make the trip again! We all enjoyed every bit of it, especially the Lobster Mac & Cheese, although I would suggest them using a little less salt! For Non- Salt adders we noticed! But we finished it anyways!!

Very busy Saturday night but the staff managed to cope pretty well. Great variety on the menu, food order was taken promptly and arrived in reasonable time given how busy they were. had the poke and the octopus as starters and both were outstanding. Reasonable portion sizes (ie not outlandishly big). Main my dinner guest had a pizza and I had a salad with steak, both were very good. its a good wine list but it trends on the expensive, particularly for US wine. I've been before and will certainly come again.

I have not been here in a while. Was very disappointed. Maybe we should not have gone on a Monday night? My fish was undercooked, and no one at our table of 5 was exceedingly happy with the food. And for the prices, I have to say we are out.

Average New Year's Eve Dinner

Overall this was an average dinner that did not really justify the $105 per person price. The 3 courses were neither bad nor great, so the average description is right on the mark. We were fortunate to be seated upstairs which has a nice ambiance, more spacing and less noise than the main level. Our server was good and attentive, but I have given a low service rating because the restaurant did not keep their reservations straight and erroneously complained to Open Table that I did not honor my reservation. As a result I got a "dressing down" email from Open Table on New Year's day and had to explain that I was there with proof of my check and table numbers

Please note my rating on the food is objective and not influenced by the poor restaurant reservation service. However reservation service matters and it is thus fair to mention here.

Dinner on New Years Eve was very enjoyable. Food was good as was the service. My only negative was the music was too loud for 9pm, which made it difficult to converse over dinner with friends.

Warm greeting, great lunch menu for a light bite or full meal. Salads are fresh and the addition of chicken made it a great healthy meal. The brocoli rabe side dish was cooked to perfection. We look forward to returning.

Moderne Barn delivered on their amazing steaks. My 87 year old father-in-law deemed it the best steak he had ever eaten in his life. Everything was delicious, hot and prepared to order. A bit pricey, but worth the cost for excellent food in a comfortable, yet elegant atmosphere.

Not always consistent. One of my favorites is Seafood Risotto. This time Seafood was evenly added and it was salty. Fried calamari was tender but large and greasy, usually much better.

This is a very pretty restaurant. Parking can be a problem around Christmas time. But the hassle of parking was well worth it. The artichoke and pot-sticker appetizers were fabulous! The duck breast entree was equally as good and the service was very good too. Will go back.

Food was very tasty, and prepared as requested; it was good ut not extraordinary, and hence, not a good value for the prices charged. Service was excellent. The place is attractively designed, but tables are too close and the restaurant is much too noisy. I heard more of my neighboring table's conversation than I needed to, and it was a distraction. Lots of noise from the bar, which is not well separated from the dining room. For those prices, the dining room should be more quiet and free from wide screen TV distractions.

This restaurant offers a pleasant, modern, simple but elegant ambiance, combined with an eclectic menu. The service was spot on and while we never felt rushed and our water glasses were never empty. The menu covers a lot of areas from a burger to upscale pizza to filet minion and other sophisticated entrees. The lacquered duck entree was especially good and there are many fish and vegan options as well. The mini beigne donuts are a novel dessert and served with three dipping sauces. My only observation is that the restaurant is a bit noisy because of the twenty foot high, arched wooden slat ceiling which is strikingly beautiful. There is an upstairs seating area that might be a little more quiet.

It's been a while since we have dined here. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The service was very attentive and considering there was a snow storm, the place was still packed. We loved the popcorn shrimp and the white clam pizza. The black bass over risotto was delicious. We dined upstairs which us a first for us and we liked the intimacy and how easy it was to converse. We will not wait as long to return.

The Food was not as good this time as it has been in the past. The scallops were drowning in a sauce that camouflaged their flavor and the filet mignon was not cooked to the temperature that I ordered. The mixed drink and wine were good. Because I've had good food there in the past, I would go back. However, because the food did not meet my expectations this time, I'm reluctant to recommend it.
