We met for brunch and ordered the healthy omelet with spinach and mozarella but with real eggs and not egg whites. It was the weirdest looking omelet. Usually the food here is good but it was a terrible omelet. The waiter was very bad and we repeatedly had to ask for coffee and other things.
Spot on as always. Our favorite restaurant. Loved the holiday decorations. Very festive.
Our meals were delicious as always, but service was overwhelmed and spotty on Friday night.
We chose Moderne Barn for Restaurant Week because their menu was diverse and had something for everyone. The lobster bisque soup and the pumpkin soup were some of the best soups we have ever had. The salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection, and the wild rice was the perfect accompaniment. The ricotta gnocchi with butternut squash was a standout. All portions were generous, and graciously served by lovely staff.
It can be very noisy, so we were happy to be seated in the smaller, more formal room upstairs which had tablecloths. We would definitely return to Moderne Barn to try their regular menu.
Went for restaurant week although it is a favorite with regular menu. Great selection, well prepared, reasonable prices.
Have been here many times wonderful place beautifully decorated for the holidays food is excellent a must go to place
The beautiful decor, ambiance, presentation of the dishes, efficient staff, and deliciously prepared dishes are always consistent. We have never been disappointed dining at Moderne Barn with friends. There is always a wonderful selection of entrees for all tastes and the experience dining here are always positive.
Overall experience very good, but something needs to be done about noise level.
WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. We were seated at a round table as requested
The staff honored our request to postpone our drink order until our last guest arrived and she was late - trapped in a meeting
As soon as she arrived......the service was smooth as silk
The food was FANTASTIC
We sat and visited for probably 40 min after we finished eating and the staff dropped by a couple of times to ask if we wanted anything, however..........no pressure
A wonderful evening
Exceptional quality and service. Parking easy. Love this place!
Great food and options for restaurant week! This is one of our favorite restaurants in our area.
Delicious food, wonderful service. Can't wait to return to try the rest if the menu.
Our waiter basically ignored us. Never came to see if food was cooked ok. We had to ask twice for bread and waited a long time without even getting water
The food was outstanding
No complaints, really. We were there for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week promotion and were not disappointed with the 3 course selections.
We went for a Restaurant Week dinner; the food was delicious and it's a beautiful venue
Wonderful night—great friends, great food and drink!
We had a great time. The setting is very attractive but not fussy. Food options are diverse. We tried the truffle pizza (a MUST), several salads, roast chicken, steak, salmon, pasta, broccoli, rosemary fries (FABULOUS), brownie, house special chocolate dessert and baklava. No complaints from this diverse set of diners. Interestingly although we had one potential issue - because a diner ordered off menu due to health issues- the waiter remediated it immediately once it was brought to his attention. I have eaten at restaurants owned by this group - this is the best of them.
Everything was excellent. We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Portion size was adequate. Good selection. Only issue is they sat us by the back door and every time the door open we got cold.
Wonderful experience at our birthday party with friends! Great server, super professional! Only suggestion would be to have some prepared small baby cakes which could be frosted up with a candle for special occasions. They freeze well and come in handy!
disappointed with quality of food service was lacking Been a loyal customer since opening many years ago Held private dinners and special events First disappointment over many years
Partook in Restaurant Week. Good choice of appetizers, less choice for the main and decent choice for dessert. Originally ordered the Gnocchi and when it arrived, it looked unappetizing and after taking two bites, found it shockingly inedible. Was able to substitute the tuna burger instead. Having tried many restaurants during Restaurant Week, would recommend a restaurant put forward it's best dishes to entice people to come back. None of the main choices especially the gnocchi would entice me to return.
Always a great Restaurant Week meal, loved the filet and brownie dessert, good service and fun atmosphere
Food was good, service was incredibly slow. It took a half an hour to be seated after our reservation time and 10 minutes to get the menu.
Birthday girls dinner. We had a wonderful time. Pizza, salad, artichokes, squash gnocchi and Drinks were great
Totally forgot it was restaurant week!!!! So we took advantage of the great price . We Had the pumpkin soup and popcorn shrimp ( the presentation was spectacular) then we had the filet minion with mashed potatoes and string beans, salmon dish and chicken with Brussel sprouts and potatoes🤗🤗🤗we all ended with the lemon sorbet and it was all so wonderful. The service was a bit slow but the place was packed( did I mention it was restaurant week😀) always gets noisy there but all in all it was great!!!
I eat here frequently only because it is conveniently located to meet friends.
We had the Restaurant Week lunch. The Shrimp bisque and the pumpkin mousse dessert were good. The gnocchi were doughy and bland. The tuna burger was very average. Service was slow to non-existent. No one asked if we wanted refills on our beverages or coffee at the end of our meal.
Nice restaurant, but in all honesty it's not as good as it used to be. Service is a little disinterested now. Lots of good choices on the menu for both lunch and dinner. Prices can be high, especially for drinks.
Good was excellent
Great atmosphere, food delicious. Bar was packed and full of energy.
Always professional service.
Along with great food
Excellent dinner. Food was fresh and delicious. Would recommend.
We had lunch at Moderne Barn last Sunday. We both had a bread plate and a butter knife setting. However, there was no bread nor butter served. We had to request for bread and butter about 3 times before they finally served them to us.
Although the food was incredible and I love the space, and I will definitely return the noise level was as is all too commonplace these days, off the charts, and conversation which is very important to me over a nice dinner was difficult. I'm really not sure what restaurants like yours are attempting to convey other than proclaiming, "You see how great we are the noise is so high because everyone's so excited to be here."
Our server was amazing! She hustled. She guided and recommended. She served with professionalism and a smile. The food was also outstanding. Our first visit tonight will definitely not be our last!
The service was nice and very attentive but the dishes we ordered just didn't really hit the mark. We ordered the brussel sprouts, fish, flat bread pizza, mac and cheese for our toddler, and broccoli with some wine. The reisling was too sweet, the flat bread pizza seemed to doughy or thick, and the brussel sprouts needed some crispiness and salt to them. We may just have too high of standards -- we live in Brooklyn and go to a lot of local restaurants -- but this is a pretty busy buzzy expensive Westchester restaurant and we just expected better.
Beautiful ambiance - very good quality food - pricey but classy
We haven't been here in a while for no particular reason. Seems to be transitioning to their fall menu which is a little on the sweet side. The express lunch is a good deal but the brisket was very disappointing and not worth it. Should have stuck with the regular menu. Service was prompt, crisp and helpful. Will add it back into the rotation for sure.
We went for a quick bite before going to a Halloween party. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Halloween. The food was amazing and staff outstanding. Will definitely be back. We love it that much.
Always a great dining experience . The cod entree is a favorite
