Serving exquisite Peruvian fare in a warm and welcoming atmosphere is what Mochika Peru Bistro is all about. Fresh flavors crafted with high-quality ingredients make up starters such as the ceviche de corvina, featuring wild-caught Chilean corvina. Popular rice dishes include the arroz con mariscos, with calamari, jumbo shrimp and octopus as well as the scrumptious risotto con champinones, with mushrooms slow cooked in carrot broth, parmigiana cheese and white wine. Lomo saltado, a staple Peruvian beef dish in a tasty melange of seasonings and sauces, is one of Mochika Peru Bistro's specialties.
The tantalizing cuisine served at Mochika Peru Bistro will transport you to an exotic and inviting land. While you're there, try the Peruvian cocktail the pisco sour, which should complement most dishes.
Would definitely recommend this hidden strip mall gem. Ambiance with the live musician stringing away at his guitar instrumentals and modern hits was great. The food was not only delicious but nicely presented. Their red sangria is a must. I can't wait to return to try their pisco sour. Koodos to chef and servers who were speedy and attentive. My best recommendation is to make sure to set up a reservation so you don't miss out on this place.
Other than plate presentation, very poor food quality... Worse peruvian I ever had and at the higher price point in Weston.
Mochika Peru Bistro was really good! The food, Pico Sours and the service were exceptional! Great ambiance with live music completed our evening. We will definitely be back.
Found this local gem on web and had to try their fusion Peru/Asian food. I'm no expert on Peruvian cooking but I have my credentials on Asian. Wonderful blend of tastes. Best ceviceh I ever had. Food presentation also gets 5 stars. Nice deco but a little too loud inside. Will be back real soon.
They had live music with a really good singer but the place is too small for the size speakers they had. We could not hear each other talk and had to almost yell to talk to each other.
They did not have Pisco Sour (they ran out of Sour they said...) And the Lomo Saltado I ordered medium-well (tres-cuartos) was almost rare...
Found it thru Open Table, and what a at surprise.. Everything that a great dinner experience should be.
Ambiance, music, service, presentation, food, all blend to perfection in this neighborhood gem, worth driving to from anywhere in South Florida. The noise level could be too high at moments and the only negative point that I can bring about Mochika. But when the food start coming in, you forget about it.
We will definitely go back again, again and again.
The Restaurant felt like South Beach. The food was exquisite and delicious. The live entertainment was very nice and our waitress was very kind and helpful. Very good service. Loved the presentation of food and modern atmosphere. The noise level was quite high so be prepared and the portion of protein in all entrees we ordered were quite small.
We're regulars here, love the food and amazing desserts. Everything is always fresh and yummie.
Service is usually great with the 2 ladies that are servers, but we had a new guy waiting on us and I believe he was a bit overwhelmed. Took him a while to greet us, and wasn't very attentive. I'm sure he'll get better with experience.
Food was great. Service was fantastic and the live made for a great date night without the kids
We go here a few times during the year and have never had a bad dish or service. The food is very good as well as the service . But the ceviche is the best compared to every where else. The Tigers milk, mmm just bring me a bowl and I'll just drink it like a soup. The fish is always fresh. One small negative comment, as per the meat selection, they don't always have them. My husband has asked for a certain dish twice and they said they don't have it. We still go back because we live it. Oh and the owner is very nice too.
Wonderful gourmet Peruvian restaurant that turns into a live music bar with Salsa dancing. Quite the find.
We tried the ethnic dishes and were not disappointed. The sax player on Monday nights may have had a glorious past, but his performance did not add to the dining experience. If we return, it won't be for the Monday evening entertainment. We would return, however, to sample another of the wonderful Peruvian family dishes.
Great food, service and venue with live entertainment that makes dinner a memorable event.
We went for Valentine's day dinner out on a double date with my wife and another couple that just started going out. I found the reservation for this restaurant through OpenTable app. The four of us found this restaurant to be amazing. The presentation for all the dishes was great. I recommend Pisco Sour drinks, staple Peruvian liquor. The food was amazing, I had Corvina Ceviche which was perfect. My wife had soup, Chupe de Camarones, while our friends had the special Lomo Saltado with sweet potatoes and his girlfriend had Chaufa de Camarones. The live music helped the night be extra romantic.
We left the place delighted and rather amazed at this neighborhood gem in Weston.
We went to Mochika for Valentine's Day dinner and enjoyed it. Since it was Valentine's, they were giving women a complimentary glass of champagne/sparkling wine which was a nice touch, but a little weird to get a glass of champagne and not be able to toast it on Valentine's Day. In my opinion, it is a nice touch, but if you are going to do it, do it well and give both people a glass. The food was good. The ceviche was not the best we've had, but we enjoyed it. The choices on the menu are quite unique - fusion - so, there are a lot of interesting dishes to try. I opted for the Lomo Salteado and it was excellent. The portion size was plentiful without being wasteful. The service was great - very attentive but not overbearing. They had live music which was very good, but way too loud for the size of the place. It's a small, cozy place that could have been very romantic, but the music was so loud that it didn't really allow for much conversation across the table. So, we didn't linger or tried dessert.
Doesn't get old whatsoever. What a great great restaurant with even better food. A must try.
Meal was very good, tiraditos were outstanding, service was fast. Server was very attentive and owner or manager came around chrcking to see if the meal was to our liking. Place was super clean also.
Downside, it's very noisy which made it very hard to hold a conversation. Dessert was good but not homemade.
A modern well lit setting in a strip plaza is not the easiest place to find. My selection of steak was well presented, juicy and delicious. My partner was not quite as impressed with a chicken selection that was dry, tasteless, and overcooked. 'Entertainment' was provided by an older gentleman who sang and played the sax. He may have been good in his day.
The service was excellent.
Give them some time to get it right.
We found this gem of a restaurant on Yelp and Open Table, and decided to give it a try....and had never had peruvian food before. Yes, it is a bit hard to find this restaurant (turn onto Commerce Parkway, then make the left into the Comfort Suites Hotel lot) just behind the main shopping center. Very stylish, modern and sleek inside - we will be back soon.
All we can say is WOW....the staff was great - the waitresses knew the food and were a pleasure to speak with, they never intruded on us. The presentation is as good as the food! And the food - let me say you should bring an appetite, and share with who ever is at your table. We appreciated the pace of the meal and service.
We had both the Ceviche Mixto and Ceviche de Corvina with our friends and the lobster bisque (chupe de Langosta)...I love lobster bisque and this was spiced perfectly, as well as differently, than what I am used to . Loved that they shelled the lobster at the tablet to put in the bisque! Did i mention the portion sizes? 4 of us shared the soup! The Ceviche de Corvina had large pieces of fresh fish, perfectly presented and spiced. The Ceviche Mixto had octopus and other seafood....if you like ceviche you cannot go wrong with either one of these. AGain, the presentation is half the fun - just make sure you have room on the table for the garnishes.
For the meals we each decided to share with our spouses, as the appetizers were very filling. We had the Chaufa de Mixto (they had no skirt steak when we were there)....and it was plated in a chinese style ceramic take out box, with two red chopsticks - what a delight! Our friends had Volcan de Mariscos - this is a meal for two! the plate took up half their side of the table. Again the presentation was fantastic, and it tasted as good as it looked and smelled.
For dessert we had the Suspiro Limeno and Volcan de Chocolat - the only negative was the molten chocolate was not molten....and I am spoiled by my wife's version which is always perfect.
Food and service absolutely fantastic. An amazing change of pace to the corporate owned franchises like Outback and Carabba's. Unique menu and experience. Went early to catch a movie afterward and nothing was rushed, but still got in and out in under an hour and a half. Ana and Angie took time to explain the wines and made great recommendations. The only regret is we skipped on desert. Next time.
Simply put - THE BEST. This restaurant never disappoints.
We visited this restaurant looking for the whole peruvian dining experience. When we arrived we ordered Pisco ("typical peruvian drink") but they did not have any because of liquor license restrictions. We then order a specific white wine from their menu, but they did not have that one either.
We went ahead and order the ceviche mixto, but it was not flavorful. By this time, we have had enough and left.
The place had really nice ambiance and an excellent entertainer playing the guitar. It is a shame that the food and the drinks did not staked up to the ambiance.
We were spending a weekend in Weston and decided to try this restaurant and it was truly an amazing experience. Food was delicious (the lomo salted was exquisite), the wine was great and service was outstanding. We love this restaurant and we are looking forward to the next opportunity to enjoy it.
Jose
It is a little off the beaten path, but this gem of a restaurant is worth going out of your way for. The food is innovative as much as it is excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant with cheerful conversations and live music. I highly recommend it.
We went initially to hear Cesar play and have gone to hear him again, and will in the future! Of course now a big part of the attraction for us has become the great food. Their fusion Peruvian food is innovative, fresh and excellent. Worth the drive to be there!
Mochika is small, tucked away in a strip mall next to a hotel. But the chef turns out some amazing dishes!! My husband had an octopus dish that he has been raving about. I had the filet mignon (they were out of the beef dish that I wanted), and my filet was cooked to perfection. The menu is almost exclusively seafood, and mixes of seafood (very few "one type of seafood only" dishes - tough for those of us with seafood allergies). I think that if you ask, they can probably substitute chicken in some dishes, but that isn't obvious on the menu. The staff is all so friendly, and they really seem to like working there. Good place for couples and families.
Excellent option in Weston, great food, amazing service.....nice place
This is our 4th visit to this restaurant and the food continues to get better and better! The ceviche appetizer is spectacular and this time we ordered two soup entrees and they were truly amazing! If you haven't had a chance to go, you are really missing out on excellent food and even better service!!
Went back for a third time and once again, the food & service was tremendous - keep up the superior food & customer service!
We went to try this restaurant and found the food was very good with nice portion sizes. We ordered 4 Pisco Sours and they took a very long time to tell us that they ran out of it and were going to get more from a local store, so we decided to order wine instead, to avoid more time waiting before the food gets to the table. My niece ordered a steak and they did not have it either, so she ordered another dish, but the meat was not cooked as ordered. They need to work on their service, which is one of the main factors in a good restaurant.
Ceviche and tiradito were the best. Rice with seafood had a good taste, but we've had better.
I went with my family to celebrate Mother's Day, great service everyone very attentive, even the owner introduce himself to us, very friendly and knowledgeable about his business, he has travel to different countries and learned more about different kind of foods and services. Overall great experience, quick service, clean, comfortable music, modern decorations.
From the decor to the service and taste of the food, this was a great find. We'll definitely be back.
Amazing anniversary dinner tonight. Formerly Lolita's Kitchen in Weston, now Mochika Peru Bistro, under same ownership with the same incredible chef!! If you haven't tried it yet, run--don't walk--to try it!! The food is spectacular, service is wonderful, and the food is sublime!!!!! Consistency is the key to success, and they've got the recipe;) Definitely try the ceviche but so far there are NO misses on their menu. Hector and Fernando are the owner and his brother: friendly and serviceable. They make sure to approach each and every table and make recommendations! We will be back and hope you try it too;)
Very impressed with the use of menu items and creativeness of the chef. I have already recommended the new version of Lolita's Kitchen to multiple friends.
I'm 28 years old and this is the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. I was there for Vakentines so it was easily the worst Valentines Day dinner I've ever had. So many things went wrong that I can't fit everything in the space provided...I tried. Just don't eat here. Don't tell anyone to eat here.
The menu on their website was totally different then their actual restaurant menu. Call before you go to check. Service was good. Management needs work.
Went there without any recommendation or expectations. We had the most amazing dining experience. Not only was the food presented in the most visually appealing way, the food itself was sublime. The complexity of the flavors and the presentation raised the dining experience to the next bar!! We have already recommended to our family and are in the process of telling all of our friends!! Definitely a must try!!
Enjoyed our dinner very much. Great presentation. Service couldn't be any bette! Looking forward to trying more dishes.
Food was great. Service was great. Very good for kids.
Will return many times.
The traditional Columbian food was very good, service was excellent, but it being a traditional Columbian establishment it was very loud. The other diners were very loud so this is not a low key date night type of place. But if you are looking for high energy and good food, look no further.
