This is an excellent restaurant with gourmet level food and exquisite service.
Wonderful service and amazing food.
Great food and good service in a clean, nicely designed environment. The only negative is the noise level, caused entirely by music played in this restaurant. I don’t go to a restaurant to listen to music. I go to enjoy a good meal while spending time with friends and family.
This was my second visit to this restaurant, which is in my neighborhood, and each time the music was too loud; so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. I asked our server to lower the volume and thankfully she did.
I recommend this restaurant, but beware. You too may find the music volume is excessive.
Everything about this restaurant was exceptional. An amazing experience from the time we got there to the time we left ...would definitely go back andhighly recommend Moca .!!!
Great place, tasty food, good service, beautiful interior
Great place to come and have a delicious meal! With love ones! I just wish they were out.of the food options so quickly.
Loved the restaurant and the food. Definite a restaurant I will continue to go to.
The food and service were wonderful. We loved everything we ordered and the portions were huge.
We picked MoCa for a first time trial to dine out with friends visiting the city. What a great choice we made. Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous meals which came across as expertly crafted for each diner. The drinks were good too. The portions were just right. The ambiance of the place added perfectly to the night experience and the staff were on their toes, welcoming and friendly. We will surely be going back.
The service was excellent! Staff was very nice and attentive. Food was amazing but a bit overpriced compared to other spots.
excellent décor, drinks! food was good too, nice to sit outside during warm times
The food, the ambiance, the service were so great that i went back the next night!
Everything was great except veryyy expensive sushi rolls.
I'm a picky eater that noarmally chooses not to eat Thai food, but this place i chose to go to for a nice date night, and the food was excellent. I was seated so quickly that i didnt have time to tell them i had a reservation, and the food was perfect ( i had Thai food at other restaurants but it wasnt as good as this). The Drinks are strong its worth every penny you pay. The vibe is nice and calm with a nice NYC dinning vibe. Kind of looks like a up to date NYC lounge but classy. Service was excellent also, only bad part is the chairs are very low and the table is kind of far from you so your back will hurt trying to sit perfectly straight up the whole dinner.
Me and my girlfriend went here Friday for a date, it was listed on opentable with only two $$ so I figured it would be pretty cheap.
Little did I know, this place should be in the $31-$50 range per person, unless your ordering some sushi.
Food was good and tasty, the meats only came with Rice, if you want veggies or noodles you have to order it separately.
Drinks were good, $10 a pop.
This was my first time to MOCA. I loved the decor. The service was adequate. The food was adequate. The Pad Thai I ordered was dry. Peanuts were off to the side instead of just asking me if I had a peanut allergy. But, I would definitely visit again.
Christmas lunch with my love, service was spectacular. Booth was cozy and Prices were great and portions were hearty. A varied menu making it hard to choose, everything was delicious. Too full to get dessert, next time for sure!
Thanks again for the wonderful service and food.
celebrated my wife's bday with a group of friends. Overall it was an amazing experience at MoCA.
We have dined at Forest Hills Moca twice. Both times were poor experiences. My husband's food was chewy. The waiter didn't offer us something else nor did he remove this meal from our bill. The Manager, Jack, was WONDERFUL. He was the ONLY positive about our experience at Moca Forest Hills. He removed our meal and offered a replacement.
The Hewlett Moca is superior. We have eaten there MANY times, always with wonderful feeling about the restaurant.
I would recommend you drive the extra few miles and go to Hewlett Moca….Aggravation and disappointment in my Saturday evening meal wasn't part of our game plan!
I love MoCa, it's a great find and the food is amazing but the waitress that we had was a bit antsy to say the least. I made reservations for a date night and was expecting to have a nice and relaxing night, however we were done within 20 minutes of our arrival time. The waitress cleaned up our plates before we were done eating and I barely had a sip of my drink when the check was brought out. This was the second time I went to MoCa, this time it was in the evening; the first time was during lunch time so it was a more relaxed environment. Definitely recommend it during brunch/lunch time.
The waiters are always good to me here. Very personable. One of the waiters actually remembered me from my previous visit, therefore he came over & greeted me. Always great service & let's not forget great sushi.
Although nothing spectacular about it, it is a VERY solid neighborhood place- took my whole family out for dinner and ordered many appetizers and entrees- and while only one dish was really special, everything else they served us was "really good".
So as long as your expectations are not unrealistic, (like thinking this is NOBU) you will have a good meal and good time, at a fair price....
Sushi were OK, sashimi tasted like just thawed (had some frozen spots). Asparagus was terrible.
Service was very sloppy: the personnel was friendly, but inexperienced. We asked to replace rice with veggies for my mom in her main entre. They did not bring rice, but they did not serve veggies either. For others rice was served 20 min later than the main dish. Dessert was OK, but my red beans ice-cream taste exactly the same as my son's green tea one.
Food is book but as others have said, service is inexperienced
I enjoyed the variety of dishes that were available. The food was right on target, and it tasted very good.
When I dined, I tried to pay partial with opentable dining check. They claimed they had no clue what it was. they called the manager who also had no clue. I asked how can they not know what it is if they use opentable to book reservations. So basically I could not use the dining check. I asked for the drink menu to be left with me but every 30 seconds someone kept coming to take it from me. its like they had limited menus.
My food was mediocre. I order a king crab roll. The roll was chewy like the crab was frozen, then overcooked. The rest of the food uneventful. I dined here before which wasn't an awesome experience but gave them another chance. They failed.
Servers with no personality and lacking any sense of emotion is a unfortunate because the food is quite good. I would give it a another try though.
After seeing friend after friend check-in to this restaurant I figured it had to be good. It was also one of the few non-chain restaurants open after 10pm. I ordered three appetizers, the wasabi shumai, rock shrimp, and wonton soup. I enjoyed the wonton soup but the others were not to my liking. The group of friends I went to also had hit or miss appetizers and entrees. There was no middle ground. I will say that some of my friends enjoyed the wasabi shumai so maybe it was just not my cup of tea.
Food was good although my husbands was not that cold. The service was lacking. When we arrived we told one lady with a clipboard that he had a reservation and she said ok but it will be several minutes. Didnt ask our name and she was going to seat the walk ins first. We decided to check in with another lady who had the actual reservation system in front of her and she told them to seat us right away. It took a while for someone to come to our table. When he did he knew nothing about the menu and i ended up ordering something completed diffsrent than i expected based on his description. When i asked a menu question he just reread the description to me
The food was great as always.. I dine at this restaurant at least one time every 4 months.. This time the waiter had a hard time understanding us.. So he brought wrong orders.. It was a little frustrating.. Then he got upset at us because of his mistake..
Good Service - Great Looking Restaurant in the heart of Forest Hills. I love the Interior but the Duck was my favorite. Order the whole Duck and take some in a doggie bag...You wont regret it!
Took my wife there for Valentine's dinner. We had raw oysters, some Toro sushi, and the sea bass skewers to start with; she had the sea bass dinner, and the creamy seafood for myself for our entrees. The food was great, service was outstanding, we'll most definitely be back.
food is not THAT great, just sweetened up, and don't let the parlor tricks enthuse you, its just fancy looking
I went for my 23rd birthday. I must say, the food was amazing! The service, was not so good. They completely ignored my table. We waited almost 30 minutes before someone came to check on us, and that was only because we called over a manager. Would I go back again? Absolutely, but next time I may try one not in Forest Hills.
I had lunch with my boyfriend and it was very nice, food is very tasty and people there are nice. We had chicken teriyaki, chicken and broccoli and fried oreo tempura for dessert, it was delicious!
Pretty sort of place. Expensive menu with creative descriptions unmatched by some very pedestrian offerings. Disappointing in the extreme. Ambiance can only complement cuisine, not substitute for it.
We had a great time. Mango Chicken, MoCA Sushi. Peking Duck, Rock Shrimp, Calamri and the Dessert was perfect way to end the work week. Will be back again.
We had a table of 10 this Saturday night. Even with a packed restaurant, we had impeccable service. Very happy!
MoCa is a local neighborhood restaurant on a very crowded Austin Street in Forest Hills characterized by little or no parking. I met a friend for dinner. Low lights allowed the couple directly across from me in abooth to be making out for 1/2 of my dinner.
Interesting-distracting-and of course the wait staff had no clue how to intervene. They didn't! Food was decent. I had a Filet Mignon Roll and it was difficult to find the filet. Noise level was moderate. I might go back if I was in the area again.
