Fresh flavors in every dish. Great to share so you can taste a variety. Good wine list and friendly staff. Clean and cozy- easy to chat with your neighbor as it is basically a long hallway with a big bench on one side.
The food is consistently outstanding and interesting. Great cocktails----had the white negroni, and I highly recommend it. Chef Alvin is talented in how he mixes flavors and prepares everything from fish to meat to vegetables.
Holiday and birthday dinner with friends. They were four of us which is the perfect number for this restaurant. He probably doesn't accommodate more than about six comfortably due to the layout. So it is very intimate. Very good vegetables preparations and from what I'm told the meat preparations were very good as well
The French fries that came with the mkt burger were nothing short of incredible, honestly my favorite part of the meal!
Love this place. Has become a special date spot for me and my boyfriend! Was so much fun to share with our friends. Tasting menu left us stuffed and totally satisfied! Close proximity to the kitchen allowed us to talk with our chef and get inside info! So much fun. Can't wait to go again.
Meal was not as good as previous dinners
Been to MKT twice now. What a unique and interesting restaurant. Great food, friendly service, unique options. One of my favorite places in Seattle.

I call this kind of place "casual/fancy" in that the environment is quite casual, but the food is a cut above. The food is served in a quasi-tapas kind of way, which ended up working out (food comes out based purely on when the chef is done with it). There's not a lot of elbow room, but overall it is a very quaint place we will visit again.
Good but asked for our food to come out slowly yet everything came out within about 30-45 minutes and then we were done. Not ideal especially when we paid for a baby sitter so we could have a long date night dinner
Delicious food and wonderful service. My friend and I shared the grilled and marinated green beans (extremely flavorful and fun to eat), porcini ravioli (believe the rave reviews about the pasta - rich and bursting with flavor, yet delicate), and the grilled wagyu beef (so tender and perfectly seasoned - amazing flavor). Our server suggested 2-3 dishes per person to share, but we were both full and satisfied with the three that we chose. Parking was surprisingly plentiful around the block. I definitely recommend this neighborhood gem.
First time there. Sat us early for our reservation. Great atmosphere and perfect level of attention by servers. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the tagliatelle and scallops. Will definitely be returning.
My boyfriend and I love Mkt. It is such a great neighborhood restaurant! We always stick with some of the menu staples (green beans, ravioli, and the wagyu beef) and then try something new. The restaurant is very small, so it's great for a date night or a small get together (4 people). Service is always great!
This may have been my best Seattle dinner in the past ten years. The food tasted incredible. It was coursed well. They had a great wine selection to go with it. The staff was friendly and informative. And the environment was intimate. For the price, it was an incredible value.
(Note you probably wouldn't want to go if you are two larger people, since one person has to squish in between two tables to sit on the booth side. It's one of those situations where as you scoot in you hope your booty won't knock over anything on the next table over! )
Another lovely evening at mkt. Took my two boys along and the three of us had some excellent food to share. The service was great and the price was reasonable.
My only, minor, gripe, is that it is a sharing place - i.e. you will have your food in the order and timing that we provide it. As long as you are OK with that then all is good.
p.s. my boys were so full after starters and main course they couldn't manage dessert! Good food.
Alvin and his team are quite literally amazing in all respects. I have yet to not be wowed by their food, service, ambiance and cocktails. Looking forward to our next sojourn to this lovely little gem in tangletown.
This is my new favorite restaurant for special occasions. There is just a halfway separating you from the kitchen and with only a dozen tables or so, the restaurant has a very intimate feeling. The shared plates concept makes for a great social environment and the food is top notch. I highly recommend the wagyu beef.

Their food has been outstanding every time I’ve gone here. I would highly recommend getting out of your comfort zone with some dish selections. Generally 2 plates per person would be ideal.
The food is great here, one of the best places I've been in Seattle. There is a nice ambiance and generally a good vibe. The first time I came here it was 5 stars all around. That being said, it's definitely a little overpriced for some items. The last time we came, however, we weren't given a table and were forced to eat in the walk in/food counter area. Normally this wouldn't have been a big deal if the staff had handled it well, but we were seated at the counter immediately without being asked and the party that came in after us was given a table (even though we had requested a table minutes before the next party arrived). They gave us a "shot" of champagne and one bite of beats to try to make up for this. After this experience I would hesitate recommending this place to a friend.
I had booked this restaurant a month in advance for wife's birthday, so we were disappointed when we learned the day before that they were serving a prix fixe menu for Restaurant Week. We went anyway, and were very glad we did. The 'first course' consisted of five small plates, so they kept enough of the mkt menu to make it different from the typical three-course prix fixe offering. For entrees we tried the pork cheeks and the teres major (beef shoulder blade), and both were very good. The service was professional and high energy while still managing to friendly and thoughtful. Overall, this remains my favorite restaurant on the West Coast.
Best brussels sprouts EVER, and the wine selection is fantastic. We were significantly more impressed with the starters than with our mains. Overall though we would still highly recommend!
Couldn't recommend this place more! The food is absolutely delicious. I love the creativity and focus on fresh, whole foods. It's also the only restaurant that I've been to that asks about food intolerances/allergies (making me feel less like an annoyance to them) and makes delicious substitutions. Ambience is homey and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Four of us went for Seattle Restaurant Week. It was really fun to get a selection of all four appetizers for the table! They were delicious! Four dinner there were four choices for entrees. It wasn’t planned but we all ordered a different selection. They were all great! Our server, April, was great too. There were also special wine choices for restaurant week which were a good value. We will definitely come to MKT again.

Really enjoyed the experience at mkt. the staff and chefs made it 100% better. Very friendly and engaging. Food was yummy. Downside is that the bar stools are a bit bulky. Need to go back for the oysters 😍
This is the second time we went, and it was as fantastic as the first time (a couple years ago). Highly recommended!

The ravioli was really good, the steak was solid, the rest was good-ish. The service was pretty good, but having a server refill my water to then spill over 1/4 of the table and not clean it up was rather weird. Yay for my own napkin. I wouldn't recommend this place to an average person splurging for an experience and great food, but perhaps to a foodie friend who doesn't care about cost and looking for another place to try.
The food was tasty and thoughtful. Some standouts were the cheese crostini, the tuna, and the ravioli. The service was defined by snobbish countenances and unfriendliness, which I could really do without. The facts that the chairs don’t have backs is just silly—style over functionality is not a good restaurant philosophy. Glad we got to taste so many dishes because of restaurant week, but I’m not likely to return.

MKT is my favorite restaurant in Seattle and would highly recommend it to anyone. Not a very big restaurant with on 20ish seats, but makes for a much more personable experience. Would ask to sit at the chefs counter if you enjoy watching the chef go to work.
