We had heard some good feedback about MKT and we're looking for a new place for lunch so gave this a try. How can you go wrong with "market fresh pub grub". It turns out you can. I love old train stations and the building/decor is great. It makes you want to linger and there extensive beer and liquor list will allow you to do that. At some point you will need to eat and this is where the disappointment came in. I ordered the fish tacos and while the presentation was excellent, the taste was entirely bland. Furthermore although I love the vegetables that accompany a fish taco, I think it important to note that since it is called a "fish" taco that the fish should be feature prominently in the dish. It did not. I thought perhaps it may have just been my meal but my friend ordered fish and chips and described his meal as tasteless. Despite a lovely building, great decor, and very good service it is unlikely we would return.
Great food and fun. The appetizers are interesting and tasty. Great beer.
We came in to try their "arm" Wednesday, they did not disappoint! I tryed the clubhouse, that cranberry mail was so delicious. I recommend everyone trying it. I love the Ambiance of the restaurant is very unique and different. And their servers are so great.
Met up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while in a spot that was located on Whyte Ave. Great location for a spot to meet after work. Appys/Meals were solid (I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich w/ Beet Salad), and the selection of beer was great to satisfy all tastes. Monday night was not too busy (5:30pm - 8:00pm), so it wasn't too noisy, and was great to be able to have a conversation across the booth.
I've been here before, but it was when they recently opened. Glad to see it's still a solid choice in Edmonton. Can't wait for summer patio season!
We were seated right away but then left for 10 minutes before anyone even bothered to ask if we wanted a menu. When we finally did get our menu and food/drinks everything was good and the management did give us a free appetizer which was nice. The server we had was friendly and the food was delicious but we were over charged for my ceasar which was advertised at $5 on Sundays but we payed $7. We didn't bother arguing about it but I'm not sure if we will go back or not.
Came for a Family Day meal, hoping to find a gem, but it didn't meet our expectations. Our background is German and, honestly, the pretzels aren't supposed to be oily and the spaetzle leave a lot to be desired. I've never had a wurst I could cut with my fork. Our daughter had the fish but left the batter, though she did enjoy the soup and mother liked the fries. It may be a good place to get a cold beer but the food could use some work. Not a place we'll be coming back to very soon.
I think the chef got behind because it took at least 40 minutes for our food to come. It was worth it
went with 2 friends. The fish tacos were awesome. The service was great compared to a lot of other restaurants i have been to. Will definitely recommend and return!
Still a cool place, but the new menu is definitely a step down from the old one. There used to be a ton of things I liked to eat here, now the choices are a bit more limited.
Food was salty, but I guess if you want to sell beer that's a good thing. Burger was horrible, dry ribs were more rib them meat, wings were fatty, frys were good. Shepards pie, I think they used the same meat as the burger greasy! Nice bar atmosphere but not a place to have a causal meal.
