MJ's Restaurant and Catering Ratings and Reviews
I love this place for it's cozy, romantic feeling! The food is delicious, definitely comfort food with exquisite taste! The service is excellent, always friendly, fast and eager to please. MJ's is one of my all time favorite places to dine, prices also are very affordable.
What an awesome find for a college parent weekend! Our first time meeting daughter's boyfriend AND having dinner at MJ's turned into a wonderful experience (yes, he's pretty amazing, too!). We definitely have this on our list for warm weather to try out the patio.
Seating was cozy and in the upstairs part. The scallops were amazing (my favorite) but all agreed that their dishes were excellent, from the steak to the fish special for the evening. Can't wait to get back there!
Trust is the word that comes to mind about MJ’s. For lunch, dinner, or a drink, you can trust that the environment will be cozy, comfortable and welcoming. The food and drink will be just right. But their standards for just right are others’ definition of perfection. And their folks on the floor will feel like friends when they greet and serve you. MJ’s is right for everyday lunch or special dinners. Trust me!
A wonderful lunch experience. My friend had oyster tacos and was going to take one home to husband but was so delicious she ate teem both. I ate the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life. Best lunch we have enjoyed together for a long time. Our waiter was informative and friendly and always smiling. I loved every single moment.
Tried to find a cozy location with good food for our anniversary, and I came across this restaurant. Food was simplistic yet excellent, but service was just so, so.. for this type of restaurant. This is a great cozy little restaurant with properly trained Chef at the helm.
Had a dinner for 6 to celebrate my best friend’s 60th BD—actual dinner was Friday November 10th. I/we have been regulars typically at MJ’s 1-2x every 2-3 week’s. Had the worst service for an 845p weekend reservation. Waiter was new to me/us, seemed very put off and unenthusiastic about serving us. Maybe he didn’t like the late reservation. I had called earlier to notify the restaurant that my friend’s wife would be bringing a birthday cake and the $1 per plate serving fee would be just fine. They/the waiter was completely unprepared and again seemed put off at the additional plating. As for the food...it unfortunately was below average that night with the lamb osso bucco too fatty and the filets average. Typically the service at MJs has been stellar and polite. We were pretty insulted that night. Probably will hold off going there again for awhile, may not ever return. Fortunately there are plenty of other fine dining restaurants in our area.
My wife and I had dinner at MJ's for our 2nd anniversary. We have dined here quite a few other times and love to sit on the patio depending on the weather. I noticed when we were seated that there is a lot of weeds that have grown up on the patio and overall it has just gotten very dirty over the years. The menu has also gotten smaller with less options but still plenty of great things on the menu. I had the shrimp and grits and my wife at the filet medallions. We both loved loved the food. Overal still a good experience but it would be nice if the menu at the restaurant matched their menu on their website and if they could just spend a little time making the patio nicer.
Heard about this place from a friend who claimed it was his favorite place in Greensboro. I have to say it is now mine as well. My girlfriend and I split a bottle of wine and the wild boar flatbread. I ordered the salmon (buttery smooth) and she ordered the shrimp and grits (perfection). MJ's is definitely pricey but it was 100% worth it.
