MJ's Restaurant and Catering
MJ’s is a perennial favorite, and this visit was fully up to expectations. It was unusually quiet on Friday night - maybe everyone was at the beach or the mountains trying to get away from the heat. Very nice server, as well.
What a great place! Met a vendor there for an early business dinner and it was fantastic. Excellent wine list and the food was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about MJ's.
Small place but big in the food service industry! Great food that all should try once
Awesome as always. MJs is a magical experience with consistently wonderful food and service.
Great food. Great service. Super bartender. Enjoyed the beef medallions.
Charming location with a beautiful patio. The food is outstanding and locally sourced. The wine list is carefully curated. Best scallops I have ever had - the chef is amazingly talented.
I’ve had dinner there many times, but this was my 1st lunch. Quality service and the food never disappoints!
It was a wonderful experience! One of the best restaurants in Greensboro!
We all had a great time - the food and wine were both excellent! MJ's are always consistent.
Must have needed additional wait staff Saturday night. Had 7:00 pm reservations; did not leave restaurant until 10:30. Very long time between courses. Appetizers and drinks were wonderful but all of our main entrees were lacking. Service was excellent.
We really enjoyed our night at MJ’s. The service was terrific - very friendly and timed our food perfectly. Unfortunately my scallops were over-cooked which was disappointing. The poke was great and my wife said her crab cakes were wonderful.
Delightful find, comfortable & welcoming. First time here but won’t be my last. I recently relocated from coastal Connecticut and the scallops here exceeded any I had back in New England! Sweet, tender, fresh, I will run out of superlatives and still not capture how good they were. My wife went turf and had a perfectly prepared filet mignon. The waiter and all the staff were helpful, friendly and never intrusive. Just a terrific find!
We had brunch on Sunday, sat outside, and had a wonderful brunch. Food is always good at MJ’s.
One of our new Favorite spots. We have tried numerous dishes, appetizers and desserts and every single item has been superb!! Always looking forward to our next visit.
Service is always impeccable as well.
It does not get any better than this, price quality, service, and feeling that this is where you should be. One of the precious few places that I could eat at every day.
We celebrated Father’s Day. Cole was our server who was wonderful and very attentive. We sat upstairs which was a perfect space to accommodate our large party. The food and wine were amazing as well!
You will find MJs to have consistently excellent cuisine and service! The shrimp and grits are the best I’ve ever had anywhere!
Was an excellent meal, Again! Make sure you try the soft shell crabs!
I love MJ’s it’s one of my favorite restaurants!
MJ’s Restaurant is charming....located in a small house on Dolly Madison. The significant difference here is the food, exquisitely prepared by Chef Tad. Whether lunch or dinner, these meals make you want to come back again and again!
Our waiter was the best. He pulled umbrellas to our table so we would be out of the sun (outside patio). He constantly refreshed our ice tea. He volunteered to bring a complementary birthday cake slice to our table for our birthday friend. Loved the chicken salad sandwiches and the salad with crab cake. We will go back!
Excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere. Good for lunch.
Fantastic food, service, atmosphere. Will definitely return next time we are in town.
Sound track this evening was smooth / easy listening
Mathew was pleasant, timely and comfortably professional
Salomon = real good
Two different wines by the glass
Topped off with Tangerine sorbet
The waiter was excellent and the entire experience was perfect. Will be back to dine and drink a glass of wine on your relaxing patio. Thank you!
We all enjoyed my birthday lunch. The crab cake sandwiches were delicious and coconut birthday cake was sinfully good. Although we weren’t in a hurry, it seemed like it took quite awhile for all of us to get our food after ordering. Definitely want to come back when you have soft shell crabs on the menu!
Delicious food. Attentive, but not annoying service. Love supporting locally, family owned and operated businesses. Glad we chose to eat here.
The food was delicious. We enjoyed the setting. The courtyard was reminiscent of New Orleans. There was an unusually noisy group in the next room, but that wasn’t the fault of the restaurant.
Always consistent!! MJ's food is delicious - definitely one of my favorites!
This was our 2nd visit and both times we've walked away thinking that we'd paid more for less than at other similarly priced establishments. The meal was nicely plated but totally unseasoned with no one handy to provide salt and pepper.. Really enjoyed the prosciutto flatbread, and the scallop entree was a good portion. $33 snapper entree was tiny with a large unseasoned mashed potato fritter. All in all not bad, but not what we expect for the price.
Wonderful, as always!
The food, service, ambiance...everything was outstanding! I have to eat gluten free and their offerings were many. They even had GF bread for dipping in oil and spices. I’ve never had that in a restaurant before. Looking forward to going back soon!
Lunch with a friend that I haven’t seen in a while. We had a lot of catching up to do and the waiter respected our need not to be rushed. Overall one of my 3 fav restaurants in town
Always try to bring my clients here. Great meal and great service.
Loved being on the patio!
Quaint ambiance, prompt service, excellent menu...I couldn't ask for more. It's my favorite restaurant in Greensboro.
Went to MJ’s after reading reviews and hearing how good food was. Chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my husband and daughter. Seemed to take too long to place order, therefore ate too much bread (which was very good). Disappointed with wine portions by the glass, but the Chilean Sauvignon Blanca was great. Ordered fried oysters for an appetizer which were underwhelming. The shrimp and grits were good, but very soupy. My daughter (12) had the buttermilk fried catfish which she liked and my husband had the scallops which he said were very good. The Pots de Creme dessert was the highlight of my evening...heavenly. Overall a little disappointed, and can’t enthusiastically recommend.
Food great but service by our waiter was poor. Took forever to put entree order in with him talking way too much with table right beside us. Never looked up or around.
Also had to get up to find Walter to get dessert menu as he was doing place settings for basically empty Resturant
Had to get another waiter to get our wine order. He was great! Our waiter was poor!
Pricey but good food. Would expect excellent service to go with food and prices.
MJ's has been our go to restaurant in Greensboro for a long time. They continue to provide quality food with friendly service.
