Mizumi Teppan - Wynn Las Vegas
I know that it’s Vegas, but I was very underwhelmed by this experience for the price. The Teppanyaki places we have at home blow this place away at 1/3 of the price. The chef had very few jokes while cooking, moved at a snails pace with no energy, and had almost no tricks while doing the teppanyaki. The food was bland at best. The fried rice was very dry, I had to add soy sauce after it was cooked to get it down. My tenderloin was good for a steak, but had no Japanese flavor to it. I’d never eat here again. I’d rather go to an actual steak house and pay $300 for dinner vs what we got here. $215 plus tip for a combination steak/chicken dinner, a tenderloin dinner, one beer and one glass of wine.
I found the food and atmosphere very nice. The experience, show, could have been a bit better.

Everyone was wonderful from the hostess, to the bartenders, wait staff and our teppan chef. The food was amazing. Best teppanyaki ever. Not typical. Fine dining level food quality. While the pricing is upscale, everything matches up to that. We would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Considering the expectations that this was a restaurant which received awards and requiring guests to wear business casual attire, it was pretty disappointing. The waiters seemed to lack any training in courtesy (abruptly taking away plates that weren't finished...), the teppanyaki-chef was "just doing his job", and though we put in a request for our 10th anniversary, this was smoothly ignored. Let alone the service, the food was mediocre. I am Japanese and have gone to many teppanyaki restaurants in Japan. This really was the lowest quality teppanyaki food I had ever had. I really would not have noticed it if the same food came out at Denny's.
Considering the price, service, food and the superficial atmosphere, I surely will not return nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
I had casual yakitori the next day in Las Vegas, which had way better food, service and price.
Food was exquisite and elegant. Our waiter was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The teppanyaki chef was incredibly talented and personable. He was very respectful and accommodating of our needs. The sushi rolls we ordered were super fresh, creative and delicious. We ordered the shrimp and scallops teppanyaki meal and it blew our socks off, shrimp was perfectly cooked and scallops melted in your mouth. Their desserts were as delicious as they were creative and beautiful.
Talk about attention to detail, best Teppan grill experience I’ve ever had, they treated my partner (whose birthday it was) with a personal birthday card and a beautiful dessert presentation. We were early and stopped at the sushi bar first, amazing quality, and extensive sake list!!
Too pricey for the quality of food. The chef was not engaging, had better Tepanyaki with better experience in other places. There are many options in Vegas and this doesn't cut it.
The food was great. Service excellent. We had the Teppanyaki and there was one other person who talked the whole time about himself. A bit annoying. Quite pricey.
There are so many incredible restaurants at the Wynn - or in Vegas in general for that matter - that I wouldn't repeat Mizumi Teppan. Despite the price, it just wasn't up to the same standard as other Vegas fine dining experiences.
This was not a good experience. It was not my first time at Mizumi. I always go when in Vegas. Service was slow it took almost 2 hours to complete our dinner. The Chef at the teppan table was to slow. He served the vegetable an took forever to cook first some noddles then the rice chating all the time with other costumers at the table. He then started with a lobster teppanyaki from start to finish without trying to cook other proteins. I had to ask him to start the seabass dish for my wife. He did that and shortly after started a chicken teppanyaki using the spatula to arrange the chicken and then flipping the fish with the same spatula. This is a food safety issue. The fish had a strong odor, as I said it this was not the first time but it was the first the fish was not fresh.
I commented this to the restaurant manager he listened politely and apologized for the issues I presented. They did not charged the fish. We arrived 7.30 and left the restaurant 9.20 and it was not for enjoying time chating.
Over priced. American Wagyu was just Ok. You can have better quality Wagyu for less money in Los Angeles. You can get the same service and food at Benihana. You are paying for the ambiance.
The chef was not entertaining.
The overall experience was really fun and welcoming. The main course was too oily, and the soup that was served before the meal tasted horrible. The dessert was really delicious. Everything was beautifully presented.

I know everything in Vegas is overpriced, but this definitely was not worth the price. I don't think Teppanyaki ever needs to be fancy. I go to teppanyaki for meat, rice, and veggies that are cooked fried in plenty of butter, soy sauce, and sake. The flavor just wasn't there. The dipping sauces were underwhelming. The service was great, and everyone in the restaurant was having a lovely time. We didn't try the sushi. Dessert was the one redeeming factor. If you come here, try the green tea macaron!! However, I don't recommend coming here, I recommend just going to the Benihana across the street.

Fun place, but hard to not think it has seen its best days. Service was lacking
Very good food, but the chicken could use more seasoning. If we had known the amount of food, we may have shared instead of each getting our own meal. Very attentive to allergic requirements, though the cook used butter when cooking, so a little more education about gluten free, dairy free may be needed. Overall a very nice outing, especially if you are celebrating a special event. Be prepared to spend!
This is the most disappointing meal I’ve had in my many trips to Vegas. If booked on OpenTable, you have to do the Japanese steakhouse room in the back. That’s my mistake for not realizing that before we showed up - I should have read the details more closely on Opentable. But it is something I wish I had been aware of.
So- at least as it relates to the back room - The food was average for a regular Japanese steakhouse experience. The sauces were fine, but nothing to write home about. The whole experience was extremely disappointing when you consider it was 3x the cost of the regular Japanese steakhouse.
One of us had the Omakase. Again, most of the plates were only okay.
I would not return here.
As a pro- The view was nice. The servers/chefs were also great.
Gorgeous restaurant with great food
Party of 6 for a small celebration. Views were great. Sushi and Sake were really good - yellowtail sashimi with ponzu and the lobster rolls.. The dinner itself was high quality and the staff was great. For a date I would recommend the main restaurant. For a group the “Teppan” side of the house were ideal for us.

Only 4 stars overall because while it was a really nice experience the value equation is just not quite what I think it should be or what I expected. But it was great food and I’m not sorry at all we went.

NO TEPPAN SHOW, only cooking in the Teppan table without any fun, not recommended if you want to have a Teppan experience... We went to Mizumi Teppan to celebrate my husband's birthday, we were hoping for a Teppan show and ambiance at the table, but the chef didn't do any shows and they wanted to dispatch us ASAP. The service from the waiter Miguel was great, he was very nice with us and brought us a special birthday cake. The food was great.
Food was delicious, loved how they did not butter everything up as typical Teppan restaurants do.
Food was way overpriced for what it is.
Very slow service. Sat down at 9:30 and cook did not start until 10:30. Within the hour wait before starting they only came by once for a drink order. WTH!

Great time at the Mizumi Teppan! The server and the chef were both super and made our birthday celebration very special! The food was excellent from start to finish. I agree with previous reviews that it was a little bright in there, but honestly I’d rather the chef be able to see what they’re doing! All around great time!
Our chef was very quiet...barely even talked. We had our children there expecting a show on Christmas Day. The only cool think he did was the onion volcano. Very expensive evening for what we got. Food was good.
The staff and chef were excellent. I particularly appreciated the insight and recommendations of my chef during his preparation and cooking. Benihana corporate owns this restaurant I believe, and I prefer Benihana's fried rice and dipping sauces to Mizumi's option (and that Benihana gives shrimp in its pre-dinner appetizer with veggies), but the steak and chicken were comparable in quality. I ate alone and had the steak/chicken option and some tea and one vodka cocktail and the price with tip totalled almost $150 so it's not inexpensive - and with a group, may be overpriced. One point of observation: I watched a gentleman stand up choking (the back group area was nearly empty with only a few patrons) and no staff reacted but for the patron's friend sitting next to him. The restaurant should have the policy to assist if someone is choking or in peril. The fellow final spit out his food and sat back down and staff came to clean up but it would have been a little too late if he couldn't dislodge the food.

A wonderful experience. Beautiful restaurant with the food so tastefully prepared. Our chef was great... good personality and very pleasant.
Men need to wear long pants. Some fish contained something hard such as rocks or sand. They didn’t charge for it but it was uncomfortable. The meat was delicious.
