About Mivan Mediterranean Cuisine
Family owned and operated Greek and Mediterranean restaurant. Consisting of home made goods and friendly environment. The ambiance is crisp, clean, comfortable and decidedly upscale but fortunately, the prices are down to earth and down-right attractive. Mivan also offers a great wine and beer menu.

Mivan Mediterranean Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
this is our go too restaurant. Food is always fresh, like home cooking except way better I am not doing the work. chicken kebab, kofta, salad, rice, warm bread, so yummy and still so reasonable. we love the family and have been coming here since they opened
Low key, but quaint ambiance, excellent service, and clean, unmuddied tastes for a very good meal. My husband had the combo meat plate and I had the Lamb Saute. We enjoyed both, but especially the rice, oddly enough. It was very flavorful and went with our dishes very well. We were there early on a Sunday afternoon after an afternoon Symphony matinee and will come back. Broadway Avenue comes through again!
consistently good food. Everything is made fresh when you come in. I love the grilled chicken shish kebab and the tilapia. they both come with rice and salad and freshly baked bread. My husband gets the kofte and has had the shrimp saute, both very good. Very nice family run restaurant. Its definitely our go to place.
We went to Mivan actually twice in one week with friends and family and it was delicious!
It is more Turkish then Greek which is great since we are Greek and its nice to taste other things. I ordered the Kufte both times and it was really good, comes with rice and a tasty salad. My husband and kids had the Souvlaki and also enjoyed it. We really enjoyed the Hummus with the warm bread that is given to you. I couldn't get my kids to stop eating it!
This is our new place to eat in Burlingame!
The corkage fee was reasonable. The food was spot on. From what I ordered the chicken was char grilled and juicy, not overcooked. The babaganoush was awesome.
Funny anecdote, someone recommended this place to me but complained about the lousy service. I joked back "well, that's how you know it's the authentic greek experience."
When I went there the service was prompt. They did a great job all around.
A cozy neighborhood gem! The family that owns the place are kind and attentive! The food is fresh & tasty! This is a small place so call ahead if you're bringing a big group. If you're all friends and/or family, I recommend ordering a variety and just sharing. Didn't have sweets because didn't have room!
The slowest service we have ever experienced. There was only one person waiting on 9 tables. We were there over 1/2 hour before we got anything to drink. Food arrived 70 minutes after we sat down to a completely empty table. The kebabs were good but not worth the wait. Would not go back.
Everyone enjoyed their meal with the exception of my husband. He ordered the beef and meat was tough. Everyone else ordered lamb or chicken and said it was good. Mostly enjoyed their tiramisu. It's the best I have ever tested. Price is good for the portions. It's a very small place so would not recommend a party larger than 6. Would go back but will skip the beef this time around.
This was a decent place not too far off the Caltrain route and near SFO. Those are the two main reasons I choose this restaurant. It was nothing special but a good quiet place to go have a meal and glass of wine with a friend before I dropped her off at SFO.
Mivan is one of our go-to places. The eggplant dishes, the chicken kebab, lentil soup, and all the Mediterranean appetizers are some of our favorites. Pleasant service, food arrives promptly, nice presentation, never too hard to get a table. One thing to note: we always have to ask for the check. Don't stew and complain later -- just ask for it!
A clean casual environment where our party of 3 thoroughly enjoyed every plate. Every meal was well prepared and flavorful, swordfish done just perfectly, tender beef kebab and gyro steak and well seasoned fresh ingredients salad, complimented by our very attentive and wine knowledgeable server. We'll definitely visit again.
This is good Mediterranean food in a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly prices. Thought it would be good for the restaurant my daughter paid the dinner bill after receiving her first paycheck. It's also a restaurant she can come to on her own and enjoy a nice dinner. She had the Eggplant vegetarian dinner and I had the Eggplant with lamb. Both were very good and we enjoyed our meal, the service, and the ambiance.
We were in the mood for Greek and didn't want to drive to SF.
The menu had everything we wanted. Excellent appetizer platter. One of us had the gyros.
One had chicken sauté and one had an eggplant dish. All were
we'll prepared and presented. Great salad dressing. Good beverage selection.
We will return for sure.
This is one of the most disappointing Greek restaurants I've dined at. The Greek salad could have been made better from a bottle of store bought dressing. The gyro meat was like stir fry and there were no pita bread to go with the gyro. I would equate this joint like a taco bell and that would be generous.
We were the last ones in the restaurant, but treated so nicely anyway. Food was delicious and with generous portions. We also had a nice wine for a reasonable price. We enjoyed the swordfish kebabs and the vegetable kebabs, the lentil soup, and hummus with chewy bread.
We welcome this family-run restaurant to our short inventory of places to return to for quiet, delicious, and moderately-priced dinners. Tasty appetizers -- zucchuni cakes, tabouli, house-made hummus, for example -- and traditional eastern Mediterranean entrees such as moussaka and a wide variety of kebabs -- lamb, beef, chicken, and fish. Far, far too many Bay Area restaurants have fallen victim to the scourge of ear-splitting noise, so it was a big and most welcome bonus that Mivan was quiet enough to allow the four of us to have normal conversation without straining to hear and yelling to be heard. We will be returning.
