Mitsuyoshi Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was our 3rd visit and it has been good food and service. This time the service was very poor. We arrived at opening time for dinner and only two tables were occupied. My food came at about 20 minutes but it took about 20 more minutes for my husbands dish. Another waitress filled our water glasses and asked what dish we're waiting for. She did not return with a status. My husband had to get up to inquire. It finally came, I had completed my dish. I asked for extra nappa, and was charged an extra 3.80. That was a bit much for getting so little. I will try this restaurant again because of the food. If the service is still poor, I will not go back.
We had a large group of 11 adults and 2 kids. It was wonderful! Great service. Fantastic food. A nice private room so we can visit. When our family comes to visit from Phoenix, this is a must go to restaurant. One of our favorite places this eat! We highly recommend eating here!
We were there to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday. Even though we made this reservation over a month ago, they were not prepared for us and initially wanted to put our group of nine at two separate tables that were in two different rooms divided by a screen. Finally we were able to squeeze into another table that allowed us to sit together. They should not take 1:30 reservations since they close at 2:00 and clearly wanted us out. The food is good, one of my mother's favorite restaurant, but we were very disappointed by the experience. Even asking for ice was a big deal. Big disappointment.
Food is usually very good and service is questionable. This time it was horrible and completely unacceptable . We received one if the appetizers an hour after we ordered it and towards the end of our meal. It was their version of stuffed jalepenos which was disappointing. The waitress is always bad, forgetful and extremely slow, but she outdid herself this time. My nabeyaki udon was horrible and salty! I make it better myself at home. Very disappointing!!
Wait staff was friendly, but service was terrible. Long wait for food. 4 in our party. Nobody was severed at together, at least 5 minutes delay for each person, bringing only one person's dinner at a time. 20 minutes elapsed between first person until last person's dinner was served.
WE ALWAYS ENJOY THE FOOD/MENU AT MITSUYOSHI. THIS LAST EXPERIENCE WAS DISTRACTED WITH LESS THAN EXCELLENT SERVICE. OUR WAITER WAS AN UNDER AGED YOUNG MAN WHO COULD NOT SERVE ALCOHOL BEVERAGES AND WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE APPETIZERS. WE HAD TO ASK THREE TIMES FOR HOT TEA AND DIAKON. I LEFT A 10% GRATUITY, WHICH IS HALF OF WHAT I TYPICALLY LEAVE FOR A DINING EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS.
Servers were friendly and courteous but extremely slow!!!!!!!! We had to ask three times for water. Our dinner took forever to arrive. Our bill took forever to arrive. The restaurant was empty so we're not sure why the service was so poor. The food was good but not worth the wait.
Had to wait 10 minutes for reception desk to be staffed to even be asked about reservation. AC was not working. Waited a long time for service. Kitchen was slow and dinners were served separately and incompletely. Food however was very good. Would probably give them another try because of the food. But if there isn't an improvement, would probably give it up.
This restaurant has always been our first choice to eat Japanese food. Close to home, good food, good dining environment. This is to entertain visiting relatives and celebrate Father's Day. We ordered Chiliean Seabass Shaikyoyaki, Sashimi Salad, Tempura Udon and Box Bento and a few side dishes for lunch. Host and guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
這家餐廳一向都是我們想吃日本料理的首選。離家近、食物佳、用餐環境好。這次是為招待來訪親戚並慶祝父親節。我們點了Chiliean Seabass Shaikyoyaki, Sashimi Salad, Tempura Udon and Box Bento 和一些小菜for午餐。 賓主盡歡。
We usually love this restaurant, but our experience on this visit was horrible. The young server that sat us asked if we had any questions about the menu. I asked about the specials and she said that she would get someone else to explain it because she didn't know what they were. Why would she ask if we had any questions if she didn't have any answers? She got our drink orders incorrect twice and all we asked for was tea and water (there were only 3 of us). We waited for 15 minutes before someone else took our order. After he took our order, we never saw him again. After waiting another 45 minutes, the young female server came to our table to let us know that the restaurant was closing. What?!! We still hadn't even received our meals! When I told her that, she said that she would check on the kitchen. Seriously?!! 10 minutes after that, our food finally came out. We weren't even hungry anymore. We had waited for over an hour to get our food. We just took everything to go. I understand being busy, but trying to kick people out before they've even gotten their meals is completely unacceptable. So very disappointed.
Took my wife out for Mother's Day dinner last Saturday. They were not that busy but keep messing up our orders. My wife was craving for sushi and they kept checking on it for a good 30 minutes and after the dinner being over an hour and a half we decided to just cancel the sushi and left. Was very excited to go there based on the reviews but will not be coming back. They need to train the servers how to do their service better.
Great food but it took over an hour to get our sushi! We had reservations for 2 people at 8pm on a Friday. It didn't seem super busy but the waitress kept telling us how busy it was as we waited after ordering from the sushi menu..and waited. We finally got our 5 sushi rolls at 9:30, after asking what was happening at 9pm (so busy! Sorry!) They closed at 10 so we scarfed it down as they mopped around us. I think it was good food but I have no idea, since I was starving and wolfed it down!
We came to this restaurant for a business dinner with a client and chose it based off the online reviews. Being all "out of towners", it felt a little off the beaten path. It was delicious, authentic Japanese food! We were NOT disappointed. The service was great .She was a bit slow on getting us a few things and refills but she was also very busy and I am understanding of that. The sushi bar was slammed and we had to wait a little bit for our sushi but everything else was well timed and AH-mazing. We will definitely go back again when in the area.
We have been going to Mitsuyoshi for over 15 years and it never fails to impress us. The quality of the food is outstanding and the staff are so friendly. While it's not unusual to see teriyaki or sushi on the menu of many Japanese restaurants, the variety at Mitsuyoshi really sets them apart. From sukiyaki to saba to tempura and udon, we can always find something that is just right for our taste that night. We feel lucky to have a restaurant like this fairly close (20 minutes) from our house but to be honest, we would likely drive for up to an hour to get to Mitsuyoshi!
I love this restaurant! The food is excellent and consistent and the sushi is always super fresh.
The employees are always cordial and the restaurant is clean and the decor is modern.
Order a great chef's special from their specials list or order any number of sushi from their extensive list. The dinner combos are great and you can enjoy three different entrees along with salad, fruit, and delicious miso soup.
Take a first date here or have a family dinner for 12. They can accommodate you with grace and kindness. This is my favorite restaurant and it always feels like home.
Met with some friends for a mid-week lunch right when they opened at 11:30. Seated in a quiet alcove at a booth; great for conversation and catching up. Service was prompt, a bit aloof, but accommodating and professional. Lunch specials are perfect size and combination with small bowl of soup, a little salad, orange slice, and entree. Pork tonkatsu I had was fried nicely but quality of meat was less than restaurant grade. Wife's California roll was very nice and her shrimp tempura was hot and crisp. Our guests had donburi and beef teriyaki but didn't comment on food.
Very reasonably priced.
Everything near the Convention Center was booked due to a massive event. Came here because the reviews were decent and it was easy to get a table.
Service was spotty - our server was nice but seemed overwhelmed, though the place wasn't that busy - maybe they were short-staffed that night..
Food was decent. Pickled cabbage on table flavorful. Poke appetizer was good, but tempura sweet potato just a ball of fried starch. garlic edamame had a stewed quality rather than steamed. sea bass in miso was tasy if a bit overcooked.
i would not suggest anyone make a point of coming here, but in a pinch it was fine. lots of local families who seemed to be repeat customers - probably know how to order better than we did.
Where do I start? Before booking a reservation at Mitsuyoshi through Open Table, I took a quick look at the reviews on Yelp and the most blaring negative relates to poor service. Since I was not in a rush and I was in the mood for some good Japanese food I decided to "take a chance" on this restaurant. My first comment is the service exceeded my expectations for being bad. We arrived at 8:30pm and our sushi order still was not prepared by nearly 10pm. Yes, you are reading this correctly, and when we asked the server what the heck? He was fairly aggressive in his response that he "TOLD US IT WOULD TAKE AWHILE". I am not sure about you, but 1.5 hours is outside reasonable for taking awhile. Oh, and for those who claim this is an authentic Japanese restaurant, I would challenge that. Just because a place has native Japanese speakers, does not make it authentic. Overall the selection was limited (time and time again, they were out of something we were asking for) and when we ordered alternative B, etc., the quality was good, but not great. Mitsuyoshi is nothing more authentic than a Japanese restaurant in a mini-mall serving mostly non-native Japanese people and definitely, not worth the wait.
