Average. Nothing special. Service was great but it’s all about the food. I love tuna tartare but this was flavorless. Sushi ok but wouldn’t come back for it. As I said it was average. Lots of better spots in the area.
It is such a joy to bring business colleagues to Mitch's. This time I brought someone that said "one day" he would get to Mitch's but this was his first time and he LOVED it.
This was a special occasion (significant birthday) with friends and family from out of town. We were trying to showcase the restaurant. I specified in the reservation all those reasons and asked for a good table outdoors. Upon arrival we were placed at a table of 10+ near the kitchen where the sound was so laud that we could not hear each other. Before accepting the table, I asked the Metre D' to seat us at another table also set for seven that was more in line with our request. We were refused and the table was given to another group that came after us. After a bit of protesting, we were given a great table and the evening proceeded splendidly from there. We appreciate the flexibility of the restaurant in quickly arranging a new table but the whole unpleasant situation could have been avoided in the first place. All that aside, everyone in our party was extremely satisfied with the following dinning experience, the food, service and drinks. Mitch's is one of our favorites; they always have done great by us and we are happy to report that they continue to be great.
Our waiter, Laz was a wonderful waiter! We really enjoyed his service. We will b back.
Great food and service.
Very accommodating and good central location
Food was great ...good wine list...but missed the paella
Food was outstanding at a reasonable price, especially the wine. We had many items, so the cost added up, but it was well worth it!
Absolutely LOVE this place!!
Best food around!! The staff make thus a really memorable experience!! Excellent!!
Food was average at best. If you want crispy dover sole do not order it here. The fish is not crispy and tasteless.
Service was excellent. Seafood (Dover sole, salmon) very good. Desert (peach crisp, bread pudding) outstanding. Two cocktails each. $300 for three persons.
We were seated promptly as we arrived for our reservation, had very good service. No complaints there. Food was just okay. For the price, not a good value.
It was predictably enjoyable.
Fabulous as always!
Great food and service
Our server (Jorge) was very attentive and personable. The menu provides many options. Good wine list.
Great seafood and fantastic service. Would definitely return.
Our favorite restaurant in Palm Desert, food is always great. Excellent menu with many options and sushi options. Extensive wine list and good cocktails. Mitch and his wife are excellent hosts., which makes for a nice added touch.
Mitch's is always one of our favorite Palm Springs restaurants. We are never disappointed no matter what we order. The owners always either greet us at the door or say hi during the meal; great touch which makes you feel special.
One of our business Guests had not been to Mitch's before and she was so impressed that she stated she would definitely drive back from Palm Springs. I love bringing people to Mitch's who have not been here before - I take their compliments personally.
The Chilean sea bass was cooked perfectly and the mushroom risotto was delicious. The orange citrus glaze on the fish complemented it beautifully. Everyone in our group loved their dinner. We’ll be back.
The food was outstanding, though a little pricey. However, it was difficult to enjoy dinner due to the excessive noise level--it was almost impossible to have a conversation. So everyone had to talk very loud to try being heard.
Instead of a metal ceiling, the restaurant should perhaps install some acoustical material to help absorb the sound.
Our server Jenna was terrific!
Best restaurant in the area . Wonderful food and excellent food!!!
Mitch’s is absolutely an favorite for our family and our guests!
We love this restaurant! Every time we visit we make sure we get to Mitch’s. Food is fresh and the Sushi is the best anywhere. Also service is excellent. Just wish it was located near where we live.
I'm not a "foody", but know when I like the meal. Great outdoors dining room, with heaters everywhere if you need them. Very attentive staff and service. Though I had a steak rather than sea food, I did sample fish and scallops, both delicious, with my companions. Restaurant was completely full and buzzing, but for older people who need a lower noise level, their outdoor space is perfect. Tables spaced adequately, conversation level low enough to be able to enjoy your companions without shouting. I'm not a wine drinker, but the bar drinks were generous and promptly served. As I said, not a foody, but I'll be back there often.
Excellent menu, especially the seafood choices. Top notch service. Great outdoor seating. Only unfortunate part of the evening was a raucous crowd at a table of at least 12, party animal situation. Table that size and festive spoiled the ambiance for many others. Perhaps a less central table is appropriate for that sized group.
We were very impressed with Mitch's Restaurant. We were there with another couple and we all ordered something different. All meals were excellent. Our server, Jody, was outstanding in her job. She was very sociable and professional. We ended in the lounge with live music. I don't know the name of the twosome playing classic rock and blues music but they inspired us to get up and dance. I would recommend this restaurant and will be back.
