Busy night on March 17th St Patrick’s day buy as usual service and food was over the top! Our waitress made all of us feel special with her outstanding service. Thanks to everyone at Mitches for a great night. See you soon. DL
Great restaurant and great service. We had a party of 6 and it was so nice.
The food was not worth the expense.
From start to finish, this was a perfect dining experience. The food was delicious and innovative, but the impeccable service made the difference that will keep us coming back. Mitch introduced himself and his wife to us. Our server, José, was thoughtful in making recommendations, and the kitchen MORE than delivered on his promises. A Grgich Hills Zin was the icing on the cake. Before we began our main course, we made another reservation. We can’t wait to return.
MItch's is typically our "special occasion" place to go. In this case, it was my daughter's 10th birthday and she wanted to go specifically for the balloon cake. Right out of the gates, the service lacked. Our server forgot our drink order and had to come back to get it again and it went downhill from there. Drinks not being refilled, food delivery severely slow, and they topped it off with the signature balloon cake not even popping. The food was good, as always, but the service made for a frustrating evening.
The sushi was fabulous especially the Vegas roll. Service was top notch and the atmosphere was great even though it was windy and a bit chilly indoors was great. Every time we come to town we always take the time to go to Mitches
Dover Sole was very bland as was risotto. Asparagus hard and woody. Sea Bass was excellent and snap peas ok. Waiter was very nice and energetic, but took no cues that we were not enthusiastic about food - I said it was ok since I didn’t want any redo on the food. Chocolate lava cake was average. But I didn’t like the ice cream presented on cookie crumbles. Couldn’t get them separate and the texture was wrong for molten lava. Also - no lava - just a warm brownie.
My guest has been with me to Mitch's on other occasions. We know we have other choices, but we seem always to end up at Mitch's because there, we know, we will get great personal attention, good service, fabulous food in a setting conducive to getting business done.
At first we’re seated at a table for 12 and we were 8. Also extremely noisy area by kitchen. It would have a screaming annoying experience. One in our group asked for a table change and they were very agreeable. Got great quieter spot outside and much improved. Very good service . Great menu. Additional menu of sushi and very well prepared. Entrees pricey. But lots of other options available. Everyone very happy with their choices:salads/sushi/ appetizers etc
Mitch's is one of our favorite restaurants and we always make a point of coming for a wonderful culinary experience every time we come to the desert.
Great food and atmosphere. Half price wine Tuesday with a great selection
The flies were so annoying that it was difficult to enjoy our food or the outdoor setting. Might be best to sit inside. Parking is also an issue if you don’t use valet parking.
Beautiful surroundings and great art inside. Chinese chicken salad..chicken was tough, but everything else in the salad was good. The chicken liver salad, the chicken livers were over cooked, and the spinach needed more dressing. However, the monte cristo sandwich was very good. Maybe it could be served with maple syrup? We will give it another try as the lobster and shrimp salad looked good . The staff was friendly and the music was appropriate.
The only negative was the cleaning of dining room while guests were still dining.
Mitch's is fantastic. We loved it so much last week, I brought my daughter in law back with me this week. Seafood is very fresh. The service is superb. The owner is always present. Love this restaurant, I'll be back!
Mitch‘s restaurant is always at the top level of service and food. Mitch is very hands on himself. Had excellent scallops and Dover sole night before last. His outdoor seating is perfect for a great evening of dining. Solid wine selection and world class Sushi.
Great service, ambiance and food. Can’t wait to go back. Also loved their Happy Hour in the bar.
I love this place to dine. Our eighth year at the desert and first year here. How did we miss this gem? Lunch and dinner great.
We arrived a little early and were promptly directed to a table. It had been drizzling and the table we were given was getting wet as the umbrellas did not cover it enough. The hostess seemed a little flustered but did sit us at a nice table. The waitstaff was prompt with water, bread and service. No complains there. The food was okay at best. My scallops and shrimp were over cooked. When I made the reservation, I indicated that it was our anniversary. Not that I expected anything special, there was no acknowledgement. There are so many good restaurants in the area. This was not one of them. If the service had not been so good, I would have given it 1 or 2 stars.
Normally we sit in the Bar, enjoy Lunch or have a Happy Hour early evening bite. All have been good, so we decided on Dinner with out of town friends. Unfortunately it fell short. We were nicely greeted by our server, but soon felt pressured to order our meals even after we asked for some time to finish our drinks and review the menu. Dinner Salads were small and needed favor. Seasoning, dressing, something to counter the bland crab and lobster. The mussels were dry and over cooked. They were returned and remade with little improvement. Sushi was just OK, but clearly not prepared to order. The Ahi was cut thin and tasteless. Even our desert was too small to share and lacked imagination. We will return to the bar and for lunch, but not dinner.
Mitch’s was great! It was our first time there and we had guests from out of town. Our guests gave it a double thumbs up as well. Food was wonderful, service was wonderful and loved sitting out on the patio. It has heaters so was very comfortable. We live in San Diego, but will definitely be back.
Great food, attentive staff, lovely patio.
This is a great place for lunch or dinner. The outside patio is beautiful and the food is fantastic..
Great good and ambience. However disappointed that they knew it was a birthday occasion and tried to sit us by the kitchen even though tons of tables. Then they forgot the birthday and offered nothing even though hostess/host acknowledged birthday from the reservation and when they seated us. Poor service in that regard only.
Lovely outdoor table. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented. A special place to make memories.
Mitch's has become one of our go-to restaurants for entertaining visitors and friends. The place is quite large, but we always try to get on the terrace or on the umbrella shaded concrete patio. The downside this visit came from some pretty voracious flies that kept attacking our table, but once surrounding tables had their food delivered, the flies forsake us for greener pastures! The food is excellent and the service equally fine.
The sushi at Mitch's is some of the best in the valley. I especially like the tempura strip starter. But everything is well prepared and the servers are great. Convenient front door valet parking is nice too. The bar is lively and the bartenders can make a cocktail the way you like it.
I just love having lunch or dinner at Mitch's - the people you see and/or meet, the service, the food, the ambiance - FANTASTIC!
We love going to Mitch's every time we come to Palm Desert. The fish is outstanding and extremely fresh. The patio is a lovely place to dine.
Excellent every time! Mitch’s is our go to for a “nice” dinner and didn’t disappoint. The crispy rice appetizer is so good all 4 of us got our own. No sharing at our table! I had the 808 roll, so yummy, and the others all had the ahi entree. Paired with some cocktails, some wine, it was a perfect evening. Wonderful service, ambiance and setting. A+
Food and service were excellent. Only issues were a noisy table nearby (not the fault of the restaurant) and room was very dark. Saw many people (including my wife) using lights from their phones to read menu.
We had a nice dinner but not the usual great food. My husband's steak was just "okay" and I had the "sole veronique" which had one very small strip of fish but a lot of rice and veggies. It was almost as if they forgot to put it on the plate. Wonderful ambience and we loved our upstairs view---just the food was off.
Whenever we lunch at Mitch’s, it is a special meal & a special time.
Convenient location to those in Palm Desert and surrounds. Wonderful ambiance, attentive service and great food!
Wonderful atmosphere great people watching. Lobster roll was spicy. My friends had the shrimp pasta too bland!
So much fun seeing an old friend from Calgary. The temperature for outside dining was perfect as was the ambiance, food, service, and location. We'll be back!
Best sea bass I've ever had. Exceptional service. Great wine list too.
Ordered 48.00 crab legs and only got 2. What a rip off.
Great dinner and great service. I will return my next trip to Palm Desert.
