Mitchell's Ocean Club - Easton Town Center Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food. Server kept forgetting what we ordered. Was pleasant nonetheless but we kept having to remind her about our bread, drink, what we ordered. We’ve eaten at ocean club and we live the food the ambiance and the service. Tonight, it appeared our server needed a little more training.
My husband and I went to Mitchell’s Ocean Club for our first anniversary. The restaurant was lovely and the service was incredible. My steak, however was only okay. I ordered the ribeye and it was full of gristle and all I could taste was the butter they put on it when it came out of the broiler. For the price I was not pleased. I ate very little of it and I am making my husband a frittata with very expensive steak this morning. Our sides and drinks were great, my husband enjoyed his steak, everything else was perfect.
My wife and I went for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner and the service and food were excellent! Great date night with very nice ambiance! The wait staff were extremely understanding regarding our timeline and didn’t rush us along at all, but the pace of service never made it seem like we were lacking. Everything came out at the perfect time, almost like magic!
The prices are a little steep, especially compared to other Mitchell’s restaurants. Although Ocean Club is now owned by Ocean Prime, Not Cameron Mitchell, so that makes some sense as the menu doesn’t seem to have changed since the last time we went (2 yrs ago or so) AND the fact that they had all of the usual Mitchell’s side dishes and were able to make the standard Mitchell’s non-menu cocktails.
This wasn't our first visit and won't be our last inspite of the less than five-star experience. Everything on our visit was exceptional except one entrée - surf and turf. The over-seasoned 8 oz filet was undercooked (more rare than medium) and the lobster tail was also over-seasoned. In full disclosure, I did not bring the issue to our servers attention until after dinner with an inquiry about seasoning options when ordering on our next visit (never had to do this on prior visits). Our appetizers, sides, and other entrée were the usual high Ocean Club standards. If interested in the surf and turf, I highly recommend discussing seasoning options with your server. It's simply too expensive to leave the restaurant disappointed.
Again the experience was fantastic! Our waiter was very attentive as needed and he set a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Our appetizer and main entrees were excellent and served in a timely manner. Our table was located in the far rear room that was quiet which provided a setting for great conversation without raising our voices-but still maintained our privacy.
Thanks again for a great dining experience!
It was our first time here and we chose Valentine's Day to try it out. It was lovely and the space is much, much larger than it appears on the outside. The ambience and atmosphere was very lovely, very "posh" as my English husband would say. The cocktails and food (french onion soup, steaks, lobster, asparagus, whipped potatoes, sorbets) were out of this world --- I loved the Black Orchid cocktail and had 3! Our server was so nice and so knowledgeable about everyone on the menu and answered all of our questions very ably. It IS pricey so we would only go there for special occasions but it was wonderful and I hope to go back again soon!
The service was great however after the apatizers the food became very lousy. I got the filet mignon and it was burnt and charred on the outside. Probably would of been cheaper and better if I went to Texas Road house. I was very disappointed, especially for a $189.00 tab!!!!
This time didn't hit the mark for us. This is my favorite restaurant in town, so I'm going to just chalk it up to a bad night for the kitchen. Had 8oz filet and shrimp scampi. My wife only had french onion soup and mashed potatoes as she was just getting over the flu. Also ordered corn as a side. 8oz filet was, surprisingly, very gristly. Always have had the best steaks here, but not this time. Also, shrimp scampi was over-cooked as it was chewy and not tender at all. It was also lukewarm temp. Mashed potatoes were cold all the way through. French onion soup was not exactly as hot as it should've been while the cheese on top was hard. Also found the crouton inside to be way to big as it took up most of the bowl - although if the food sat for a while before being served I could contribute this to it just having a lot of time to soak up all the soup. Corn was very hot temp-wise, so maybe everything was being held waiting for the corn and got cold? Not sure, but either way hoping this isn't a trend as I love coming here. Left my comments on the opinion card at the table as opposed to notifying the server as my wife still wasn't feeling great and I didn't want us to be there forever waiting for new food to come out. Plus, I hate making scenes in restaurants. Server was the best we've had there as she was extremely knowledgeable and warm (I forget her name).
The back room ambiance is mediocre. There’s a big TV on the wall in a 5 star restaurant. The food and service was top notch, but conflicts with the visual of the room. The room somewhat approaches the appearance of a sports bar. In addition, there’s the cabinets and portable stands for serving food in a small space...more of an average visual.
If you get seated back there, should get some form of “compensation“ for the 3 star ambiance with 5 star food, service and prices. Or, modify the ambiance.
Ambiance plays a great role. We can go to some sports bars and get 4-5 star foods, but only pay 3-4 star rates.
Ocean Club is alway fantastic. I recommend any of the fish dishes. We had the blackened fish and also scallops. Both excellent. An appetizer of calamari was also great. Sides were not needed as the scallops came with a risotto which was done well. We also had a wedge salad (very good) and a chopped salad (also very good).
Our dinner was relaxing and served at just the right pace. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu but not at all intrusive, which we really liked.
The steaks were perfectly cooked, and the accompanying dishes were well season and delicious. I would certainly recommend Ocean Club to a friend.
