Mitchell's Ocean Club - Easton Town Center Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food! Our waiter was attentive (can't remember his name) and made great suggestions; he was wonderful. Six of us were pleased with our appetizers, meals, wine and dessert! Celebrated birthdays and an anniversary, it was worth driving from Mansfield!
It was a busy Christmas shopping night and the place was busy. No wait for table and seated in a good spot noise wise. Server was attentive when she was with us but there we lengthy lapses; after offering cocktails, long wait. After dinner, long wait. After check delivered, long wait. She did not appear to have that many tables to justify the time lapse.
Food was superb as usual!
While I was excited to try this highly rated restaurant, I was disappointed overall. We were asked if we wanted a more private and romantic table due to it being a birthday celebration. Of course my boyfriend and I said yes. We were led down a hall to a brightly lit room that had 6 tables. All were filled with elderly people who were yelling at each other...not because they were mad, but because they were all half deaf. Wait staff was hit or miss; hovering or unavailable. Steaks were amazing, but the sides were sub par. We are not strangers to an expensive meal out, and typically feel that we got everything we paid for. Not so much here.
The most important thing for me at a seafood restaurant is the quality of the fish and the skill of the preparation. In these things Ocean Club excells. The wait staff were excellent as well. It is a large and noisy restaurant and that was my least preferred aspect of it.
Perfect cusine and service, as always. Table for 2 isn't large enough for the dishes. If it weren't for the 2 small children loudly misbehaving at the table beside ours, it would've been a perfect evening. There are more private/quiet areas in the restaurant, and perhaps we could've been moved. However, it was busy and we didn't request to be moved. Ocean Club is my favorite place to dine in Columbus. If you haven't tried the jalapeño au gratin potatoes, you don't know what you're missing!!
The food and service are great, and we appreciate the Gluten Free options (including a special GF menu) and freshly-baked, warm GF bread! The place is always packed. It can be a bit on the loud side for conversation, but it is tastefully appointed and has a fun atmosphere. Reservations are a must, even on weeknights, especially during the holidays.
The overall experience was what you expect for a fine dining restaurant. Pricey menu options, attentive service, and quality ingredients. The bone-in ribeye special was fantastic but my wife's scallops ranged from undercooked to overcooked. Not what we expect from a CM staple.
Food was great, service was great; but, to drop the kind of money required to dine here for a special occasion and not be able to valet park is unacceptable! I guess that’s what happens when you put a fine dining restaurant of this quality in a mall that can limit the amount of spaces so it can serve this who are shopping leaving those who are spending big dollars ($370 for three with dinner, drinks, and tip) to dine. Short sighted and too bad!
We have had many wonderful dinners and exceptional service here. However this was not one of these moments. Our service was incredibly terrible. She wasn't unfriendly just not at all a quality server. The manager noticed we were waiting an abnormally long time for our food to arrive when it did it was luke warm and we didn't recieve our food at the same time. so he did comp our desserts for our table. We never complained because we know this happens but our bill was well over 500.00 for our party and it was for a special family occasion . It will be a while before we return or if we ever do.
I don't know what impresses me more- the professional, friendly wait staff or the kitchen that hits the mark every time. The menu has one great dish after another; you can't go wrong except if you don't like heat. The jalapeno items are too spicy for me. I don't want my favorites to disappear but the menu needs different new entrees. They could offer more specials . Portions are large so maybe share to leave room for dessert or an extra side.
I'm never disappointed with the service or my meal here and this place has to have the best staff in town. They really do go out of their way to accommodate you and the atmosphere is truly delightful especially during the holidays with all the beautiful lights up. If you have a special event Katherine Domnici is incredibly gracious and she'll make sure your event is perfect. The wine list is great and has lots of variety. I've been to the New York and LA locations and they were awesome as well...but this location is my all time favorite and I highly recommend for the special events in your life or just a nice relaxing dinner. From the manager, the chef , the servers all the way to the host this has to be the best in town. Thanks for making it a wonderful experience every time.
We came to celebrate my sisters 36 wedding anniversary. They did seat us quickly and gave us the fireplace seating. Which is what we had asked for. However, despite the cold outside and rain, the heat from the fireplace was unbearable, but there was no other tables for us to go at that point. They did turn off the fire but what did help, but then we lacked the ambiance that we were hoping for. We sat in heated enclosure and I had set our gift down under the table, as we wanted to surprise my sister later in the dinner with the gift, so i didn't want her to see it. After a small period of time, i reached under to adjust the gifts location and came to find out that the floor was soaked from the outside rain that was coming in around our feet. It ruined the gift bag as the bottom was soaked. My wife gave it to the hostess to bring out with our dessert, which they did, but it looked horrible and my wife was upset as she worked hard on getting the gift together. These are issue that could have been prevented if we had know the floor was going to be rain soaked,,,at least warned us about it. and then it was just a disappointment having to turn off the fire place as it was a romantic look for an anniversary celebration. The food was good and our waiter was attentive,,,so we had at least that. My sister enjoyed herself and was thankful that we took them out, however, me and my wife was disappointed in the way it all played out.
My wife and I went to the Ocean Club to celebrate our anniversary. The calamari was outstanding and our server (Bill) was extremely personable! Unfortunately, that was the high point of our dining experience. My wife had the Scallops and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were cooked extremely well but, unfortunately, both were incredibly bland. Even with copious amounts of salt and pepper, I was really disappointed. Again, both dishes were cooked very well! The food was really disappointing but the experience was okay.
