Now offering a full menu of beer, wine and cocktails for our guests, Mistral’s guests will enjoy a full craft cocktail menu that is both unexpected and attuned to chef Anderson's local and seasonal ethos as well as an extensive craft beer and wine offering with the open of Mistral’s bar
The food was a bit underwhelming, although the ambience was quite nice. It seemed as if they were aiming for too many “types” of food, and there wasn’t much food given to begin with. I personally prefer Mediterra.
Food are salty! Others are so so not very impressive!
After the original chef left it is just not the same!!!!
Sat out on the patio... which was beautiful and cool, but the tables were a little too tightly squeezed together. It was intimate to say the least.
Pleasantly surprised with the outside but enclosed dining area. Menu seemed limited compared to what I saw on line but he entrees were good but on the smaller side (which I prefer!). The Wagyu Bevette Steak was tasty and the Wild Ramp Tagliatelle had a lot of crabmeat throughout. Oysters were small but ok. Brownie dessert was delicious but too small to share. Server was very attentive throughout even though it was busy. I don't know how it is affiliated with Elements but if food is similar Mistral is a much better value! Only negative was that I checked in at the desk and she confirmed she had my name and reservation but they had me as a no-show after they seated me! I called and they fixed it.
Food was excellent! We got the cod dip for a snack, and the grilled Mackerel was great (spicy though so beware!)
Totally unique, delicious and very flavorful food. It was great to see all the action and professional chefs working in the open kitchen. You should definitely visit Mistral when in the area. You will be Happy that you stopped by.
This was our first time dining at Mistral and Mike, our server made fantastic recommendations and was extremely attentive. The whole experience was great from the friendly reception at the hostess stand, to the bussers, to the phenomenal food. Would definitely come back and try more items on the menu!
Our reservation was 7:45pm so we sat at the bar with some cocktails. The bartender was not very warm or attentive. There was a mistake on the check which I pointed out (a drink was left off) he immediately fixed the check with a smug attitude. When leaving he made no eye contact. I don’t appreciate service like this. Our dinner service was great. But would have appreciated if we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions.
Delicious food for a 3 course Mother’s Day Brunch. First time trying this restaurant in downtown Princeton. Eclectic menu with delicious flare. Highly recommend for those looking to celebrate a special event for a loved one.
I went with my daughter for Mother’s Day brunch. It was cold, rainy day and they first seated us in a covered outdoor area with heat lamps. When we complained about the cold we were moved inside to the seats along the bar where we could watch the chefs cook. So much fun and the food was delicious!
Not a great experience today. Delay and seating due to multiple reservations and probably a backed-up kitchen. Server that took our order mixed it up and two of our four orders were wrong. Including a dessert that had ice cream and for which we had no more time to stay in the restaurant so they put it in a takeout container for us. If we had received the desert we had actually ordered we might have been able to eat it instead of paying a lot of money for it. The food was good but overall the experience was not and it was an expensive one
Everything was impeccable. The only thing we didn’t love was the matzah ball soup
Lovely! Best flavors in Princeton! Yummy yummy... Thank you!
We sat outside but we really should have been indoors. Kept catching a chill and the fireplace couldn’t stay lit.
Food was good—Brussels sprouts were delicious. The scotch olives were greasy. I had the hash for breakfast and it was such a tasty dish. My husband had the burger, it was okay. The Bloody Mary was delicious—not too dolled up which I like.
Overall, a good brunch.
scotch olives were interesting...and delicious. interesting menu; nice vibe.
Mistral is creative and has a good atmosphere. We were a little disappointed in the food on this visit - grit in the salad and a crab pasta dish in which you couldn’t taste the crab. Other dishes were good. Still a good option but I expected better.
We all enjoyed the food. Service was excellent
waiter was arrogant. he forced us to order too much and we did not bother to wrap the left over up cause food was often too salty. empty soda cup sat there for 30 min not refilled. i miss those days when they had uni on their menu. tried all the small bites but nothing to stimulate palate. best was the ketchup came along the fries.
Mistral has a pleasant ambiance with lots of light. Saturday lunch was relaxed and unhurried; our friendly server did a good job of explaining some menu items we weren't familiar with. The Nicoise Salad was outstanding, beautiful to look at as well as delicious. A great place to meet friends and chat.
Very well composed plates with great flavor. Very well balanced
Very disappointed with the host he was extremely Rude . I believe he was the owner of the location.
Food was nothing special. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not go back
We really enjoyed ourselves, the food was great the atmosphere was good, a little loud at times especially near the open kitchen. I would return again. One of the cons is that the tables are way too close together. I am left handed and was practically bumping elbows with the person at the table next to us.
Good food. Decent price / value. Was hoping for more selection
Great food and service. Creative mix of flavors.
After so many dinners here, I wanted to try lunch. it was as an outstanding meal! The lamb pita was delicious.
We went on a Saturday night. Pretty busy but we managed to get seats st the kitchen bar. The server was very knowledgeable and very good. Took 30 minutes to get a cocktail. Food came out pretty quickly once ordered. We only ordered apps and small plates. Food was very good!! I would say that some people on the line should maybe remember that they are on display and shouldn't do some things with people(diners) watching. I've worked in restaurants as a younger person so I'm a lot more forgiving than most but could see people being grossed out by a couple things I watched.
This was my 1st time coming there but I will be back and look forward to trying Elements also.
Again, our waiter was awesome and the food was great. Great vibe also.
Parking is really a problem. That is why we haven't been there before. For younger peeps I know it isn't a problem but for us older folks, parking is an issue and does affect where we eat, shop and do business.
Awesome place. The food was outstanding. The tables at this place have a bunch of room. Highly recommend!!
As always the meal was delicious--excellent ingredients used creatively to bring out fascinating, complex flavours. But we had to wait rather a long time between dishes; the restaurant was packed for a Wednesday night; and one felt that the wait staff were seriously overextended. This happens, but no one apologized. I'll definitely go back, but I hope this isn't a new normal.
Came for a college visit and enjoyed our time at Mistral. Great quality food, eclectic choices.
Great restaurant - food, service is amazing!
Second time visiting Mistral and very happy with the consistency.
Great food, ambience, and service.
Mistral is probably my favorite "middle-end" (about $150 for two, including drinks) restaurant in New Jersey. The menu is not huge, but it changes regularly and so I try to go several times a year. Dishes are "tapas style": We order about 3 per person and share. Most are quite inventive. Some are playful reinterpretations of classics. We've never been disappointed.
One word - “Enrique the Server!” He was really excellent.
The adjunct room we were in was a bit cold and drafty. Would have been too uncomfortable if they had not started the portable heaters. They need to enclose that space better for colder weather dining. The food was delicious!
I regretted choosing Mistral to celebrate a family birthday. Greatly enjoyed dining here in the past, but I am genuinely sorry to say that the food this time round was overly rich and lacking all nuance flavor- and texture-wise—just not enjoyable to eat. At these high prices, that's unacceptable. Although the ambiance and service were, as usual, quite nice, the food was really below par.
Food and service were both excellent!
what we had for lunch was very good and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Princeton.
Every dish we ordered was delicious. The drinks were tasty. Martini a little shy on volume. Service was excellent and orders were brought out in a timely manner. Dinner was well paced and not rushed. Will definitely return. This was our third visit. We thought the food was even better than our last two visits.
Wonderful food. Great waiter. Brought a surprise birthday dessert for my friend. Only complaint is the bartenders were a bit distracted. Took a while to get my drink while waiting for our table. Otherwise outstanding. Crispy spicy Brussel sprouts were great. Scallops. Tuna tartare. Just delish!
Dinner for two with multiple apps, wine and one split entrée was less than $100!!
