Went the day after Valentines Day for lunch and it was incredible! Impeccable service and the food was delicious!
A wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. Everything was delicious and on point. Great service and attention to details. We highly recommend.
We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our visit was ok, didn't knock our socks off, if you know what I mean.
We have been to Minstrel a few times before. Have always had a good experience but this time it was below par. From the minute we sat down we felt rushed to order. Was told the kitchen was busy and we should order our entrees with the appetizer order. Apps came out quickly and no less then 5 minutes after the 2nd app was cleared from the table the entrees arrived. Felt like they were trying to turn over tables too quickly. My wife asked if an app could be made without celery. Waitress said she was unsure and would ask the kitchen and let us know. She never returned and when the app came out it had celery in it. My entree was over cooked and tough. I could not taste anything accept the overpowering sauce on top. I was reluctant to send it back but could not eat it. Was offered to order something different but declined since my wife was 3/4 done with her entree before we were able to get the waitresses attention. My wife’s entree was very good. We decided not to stay for dessert and coffee and somewhere else.
Everything was delicious! We had the mussels appetizer. Scollops and ramen for dinner! Great service, awesome food!
The atmosphere is pleasant although a bit loud and you are definitely close proximity to the other tables. Food was great and service was excellent.
Small plates and amazing specialty drinks
Was a nice relaxing Sunday brunch. Mistral usually challenges your taste experiences w interesting ingredients or new plays on classic dishes. Service and atmosphere are generally solid. This experience reflected that for the most part.
One of the best casual restaurants in Princeton with ample parking nearby. It is returning to the glory days of when it opened as a BYOB. Menu is refreshed with old standbys and creative new dishes. The salads are a delight with fresh combinations and surprises. Small plates are shareable and reasonably priced. Among desserts, brown butter cake has been brought back, but not served in cast iron skillet like before. Now a very good wine, beer and cocktail list is available. Service is very good with young, likely student waiters. Great option for Brunch. Highly recommended.
Great cocktails and food. Definitely a restaurant to recommend.
Ambience and food were terrific. Would return here often
Love the outdoor dining room.
Tyler was an amazing waiter!
Wonderful & delightful
Always a amazing time with a amazing and the food have to be the best in the Princeton area.
The food at Mistral is outstanding. The menu is not the usual faire - very creative and unusual. The service was appropriately attentive. The portions are of moderate size, which is good, because you will want to try everything!
Consistently outstanding meals; this evening's dinner was another winner!
Awesome experience! Meal was fantastic. Incredible ambiance, service and food. My new favorite place.
Amazing food! Such a punch of flavor in every bite. It is very evident that the chefs take much time to develop each dish, from the flavor to the appearance. And of course, such delicate planning becomes evident in the finished product. We have visited Mistral, my husband and I, multiple times throughout the last three years or so and this was the best experience yet. It was Sunday brunch and such a pleasurable time. May be a bit noisy in a tight space but wonderful ambience nonetheless. ❤️ Thank you for a fantastic meal and a great experience.
Mistral exceeded our expectation. The service was impeccable and food was delicious. Our server was professional and well-versed with their drinks and food menu. The ambiance was perfect for brunch.
Very interesting menu. Different from we expected but everything worked perfectly. Service was top notch. A bit pricey but well worth it.
Wonderful place to dine. We mixed several apps with a main course and were impressed with the taste and presentation. We stuck mainly to swfood and were surprised with some of the new flavor combos they did. Open kitchen, friendly atmosphere, a good value for a good night out.
Fantastic service, great food. Our server times things perfectly. Food was inventive and delicious. Tables are close to each other. All in all a great restaurant.
Always great, never get rid of the Brussels sprouts
I was very disappointed by the portion of the $29 monkfish entree. There was only one (1) piece of fish about the size of a medium scallop. That's not enough, especially considering the price. I told the manager who said he would tell the chef. I also sent the restaurant an email about my disappointment but have not yet heard back.
Quality and freshness of the food is amazing here at Mistral!
Amazing service, food, ambiance, everything. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Generally have very positive experiences at Mistral, and I will keep returning. This time the service was subpar. The food was rushed and our waiter completely absent. Needed to flag him down twice
Great meal, great service, cool vibe. Ceviche dish was a hands down winner! And the Brussels sprouts too!
Great food as always. Nice selection of breakfast and lunch options on the brunch menu. Service was very slow during this visit, which is not my usual experience here and I am not sure why. The server acknowledged the delays (although management did not address us or offer to do anything about it). Again, not what I usually experience here - usually all staff is really on top of everything.
Would definitely recommend and will return!
Really enjoyed our night out at Mistral with unique and delicious food choices.
Great food, great service truly enjoyable evening - for four people, we over ordered but the food is so tasty we couldn’t help ourselves! With small plates, you are never quite sure how much to order - we tried to go with 2 snacks, 3 small plates and 2 entrees but added an additional entree at the suggestion of the waiter - favorites included the grilled kale salad, the calamari, Brussels sprouts and scallops. We didn’t love the Ramin this time. Waiter was excellent- attentive without being overbearing. Made a nice wine pairing suggestion. A wonderful evening.
Food was exceptionally good tonight!! Worth a go. LOVE the menu!!
Great atmosphere. We had a late 7:30 reservation so sitting was quick and sound level perfect. Family loved the ceviche and enjoyed the carpaccio. My son raves with the Wayu but my Pork Milanese has a dressing that overpowered the pork so would not recommend that. Family enjoyed the different desserts family style.
There were four in our party so we were able to order and share several dishes -- many of which were new since our last visit. Not a single dish was mediocre. In fact, we all agreed this was maybe the best meal we've experienced at Mistral, and for two of us this takes into account at least 25 visits. The creativity and range of flavors continue to impress. Overall, this is a superb restaurant!
We had a delightful brunch on Sunday. The coffee was better than average, and the spinach mushroom spinach gruyere omelet was beautifully prepared and dusted with herbs. Their house-smoked bacon was exceptional.
Mistral became one of our go-to restaurants during our semester in Princeton. Very imaginative dishes, beautiful presentations, attentive service: it's the whole package! And a good value to boot. It can get quite loud, but the energy is very positive. We'll miss this place!
Enjoyed the food and ambiance. Monkfish was well made and tasty. Best dish was the Burrata with eggplant (highly recommend). The mozzarella bites were also outstanding. Recommend the restaurant.
Great spot for lunch
We had a group of 3 couples on New Years Eve. The special New Years menu was excellent, however in spite of the website saying the al a carte menu would be also be available it was not. Maybe I was mistaken? Was really hoping to get an order of oysters at the bar before being seating but was denied.
Anyway, reservation was for 9pm. We arrived at 7:30 and began in earnest running up a very substantial bar tab. Checked in with the hostess at 8 just to let them know we are at the bar. Had to make a number of visits back to the very unfriendly hostess before finally being seated around 9:40. I admit that with each visit to the hostess I was becoming less friendly. She, however, upped the ante each time. As if I was out of line having to make the numerous inquiries! We had plans for ringing in the New Year at midnight, however the late seating ruined all that as we were still finishing up at the table when the new year came.
Okay, enough of her and that. The food was really fantastic. Between the six of us, we all probably sampled every dish on the menu and not a single disappointment. If this rating was all about the menu, kitchen, and bar staff, it would easily be 5 stars! Unfortunately the hostess is the face of the restaurant; the first and lasting impression. On that, Mistral can do a lot better!
Our meal on New Year's Eve was very good, everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed our food. We were disappointed that the evening was not festive though. It felt like a regular date night rather than a special celebration.
