Mistral Restaurant & Bar - Redwood City
Friendly and prompt service, varied menu with delicious options. Good cocktails too!
Good Sunday Mother's day Brunch - good food for the $ value
This is a great restaurant. Always a good experience.
The quality of food has gone down dramatically. It’s a pity because it’s a lovely restaurant.
This was our first time at Mistral. Perfect on the water location. Superb, well timed service that was friendly. The scallops were excellent. My wife had the salmon that was superb as well. Entres were perfectly prepared. We highly recommend and will be back for our date nights.
Don't forget to order the fried calamari which includes other goodies.
Service is very friendly and sitting outside is the way to go.
Service was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Hosts friendly & upbeat. While the food is always good, prices continue to rise. Great, energetic spot for an occasional splurge.
Always like the place but this time, the service was a bit rushed and inconsistent.
Noise level was not "energetic" --- it was UNCOMFORTABLY LOUD coming from a large party'
I actually heard this party from outside as we entered the restaurant. It may be a while before
Very friendly staff, easy to find and fillet mignon was very delicious. We will be going back and trying some other dishes.
Wonderful atmosphere, food was delicious and the service impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive but not bothersome. Great experience!
Scallops were OK, had a fishy taste to them, which means they were probably not fresh.
Refill on my iced tea came in a glass w Lipstick on it. I pointed it out and they removed with no further acknowledgement or follow up.
We hadn't been here for several years and did not know what to expect. Bar and restaurant were not crowded for a Friday night. Had made reservations for 7pm, but would not have needed it. Several tables open outside which we had requested. Ambiance and food were great. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Parking right in front of the restaurant. Nothing negative to report. Would visit again.
Everything would’ve been perfect however, there was a corporate even which made the noise level sky rocket!
Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Bay Area. I highly recommend it. Food, service, ambiance fantastic.
Absolutely! Great ambiance.
I don't want to write a review that's 50 characters or more...
Great time with freinds. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++
My group of six enjoyed our night at Mistral, celebrating my 50th! Our waiter went above and beyond to make our night fun. After dinner we sat around the fire pit. It was so lovely with the water feature and warm fire. They exceeded our expectations! We’ll definitely be back.
Wonderful evening for our family dinner, delicious food, excellent service with great ambience!
We used to love this restaurant but the last two visits with a span of two months proved the food quality has gone down recently. I will try again because I want to like this restaurant again but I’m not holding my breath.
Nothing for birthday celebration provided though noted
Food was salty this time.
they accommodated my requests but my steamed veggies were lukewarm and the serving size was pretty small. but it's a great place overall.
Beautiful location and decor, excellent service. Right on a lagoon with a lovely outdoor patio area with fireplace. Food just okay. The bread was delicious but I had the Thai beef salad and it really should have been listed as just a traditional steak salad. Didn’t really have a Thai flavor or traditional ingredients. My friend has the crab sandwich and that was good.
This is my go-to lunch restaurant on the Peninsula. Food and service are always top notch! Excellent tuna nicoise!
We had a lovely luncheon at Mistral's. The food was very good, and our waiter was outstanding - attentive but not intrusive, and very personable. We will definitely go back.
Excellent food and service! Fish of the day was a hit among our friends
I've been going to Mistral periodically for a very long time. The new owners kept the really wonderful things like the Tzaziki/hummus/red pepper appetizer and has added some new dishes that were delicious. Homemade soups were all good. Sitting outside on the screened in porch is wonderful as long as you are under a heater although when there are really big parties, the noise level can be quite high.
A wonderful dining experience that I highly recommend.
Always good food and comfortable. The outside space looked inviting but there were two large parties so inside was both warmer and more quiet. The place started to get crowded at the end of our early meal. Service was friendly, funny, and helpful. Will be back!
Service was very slow and pretty much inattentive. In server’s defense, we were seated next to a table of 12-14 and he was likely oversubscribed. Food was ok. Of the three of us, none raves about their meal. Had not been in a while, but I wouldn’t rush back.
Great service and very good food. It was a very nice evening
A good experience all around. Food was very good but the service was exceptional. Jeremy was super a was the support staff.
Great food and service. the scallops were amazing, cooked just right. It was quit full which is always a good sign for a restaurant. We ate outside which is covered and had heaters running since it was a cool day outside. Menu portions are quite generous as well.
It got really loud . My risotto wasn’t cooked well.i had to request to change
So sad to have to say this restaurant has gone DOWNHILL! We used to come to Mistral at least twice a month. We moved away and yet when we would visit we would always make sure we had a few meals here with family and friends. Our local friends said they never come here anymore because of the service and the food. I still went ahead and made the reservation. I should have listened. We got there at 6:45 on a Saturday. The restaurant was empty. We had a party of 6 with a toddler and where seated. We had to flag down the waiter for every single thing. Water, drinks can you take our orders now? The food came out and the presentations where nothing, the flavors where bland. They have this great bread they used to bring out but now you have to pay for it. I get that times are tuff but at least other the bread and if people want more then ask that they pay for more. The drinks where watered down. The servers seemed bored and not interested in really doing much. We will never go back.
Everything was perfect except I had forgotten my glasses and because we had a group of 11 I figured it was easier to have them all just pay me to make it easy. I tiled the normal 20%. The next day the total didn’t add up and I realized the tip was already included in the total he gave me. And so he needed up getting one huge bonus. My fault for not bringing my glasses and also having and extra glass wine. Just to let people k ow the tip is included on bigger parties.
Wish I could give this place higher ratings. I want Mistral to do well because it’s a convenient location and easy to park (in contrast to many of our peninsula downtown areas).
Went (admittedly) on a busy Friday night but the food, service and ambience were just okay. Our food (skirt steak, pork chop and sea bass) were long to arrive and hardly warm when they finally got to us. The pork chop was tough, the teriyaki steak was flavorful but chewy. The sea bass was somewhat bland. The server was not particularly helpful in telling us our food would be out and then it want. Lastly, The restaurant itself was cold (we ate indoors) to the extent my mom had to put her jacket on to be comfortable.
I hope our experience was out of the ordinary.
This was a wonderful meal. The food was one of the best experiences that I have had all year. The staff was warm and receptive in spite of the restaurant be extremely busy. Good for them it was a Wednesday night! The service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this experience for a special family event or a high stakes business meeting. Congratulations to Mistral for providing a wonderful experience.
