Thank you so much for a great lunch! Everything was so good. Tim, you are more than generous, that was up and beyond! We look forward to dining with you guys again soon. Compliments to your team.
Super pleased to see Mistral finally changing up the menu to include main dishes other than beef and seafood - the pork chop, Beef bourgignon, and Irish lamb "stew" special were welcome additions! Unfortunately, the pork chop was waaaay overdone, but the flavours were lovely; the "stew" was not really a stew, it was sliced lamb with a sauce, so left my husband feeling a little disappointed. The bourgignon was excellent, but needed more sauce for the pasta. Our server was FANTASTIC however, and that made up for the somewhat mediocre prep on the food. Regardless of this latest experience, we will certainly give it another go - really nice to see management taking the feedback of some of their most loyal customers and making good changes!
Our second visit and just as good as the first. We will be back
The service was the worst i have ever seen and i didn't expect it in a place like Mistral Restaurant. Don't understand why they call this place restaurant and can have such a bad service.
Ant's on the interior window seal out in the indoor patio
Always great. Visit at least once a month. Often more!
Mistral has a varied and interesting menu. The seafood chowder was excellent and the server accommodated my request for a plain Caesar salad and my companion's request for one with everything but the chicken. It seemed like a good idea to sit in the enclosed patio, but it turned out to be quite noisy as there were several large groups there and there is no sound proofing in the ceiling. I will go back and next time will asked to be seated inside.
Celebrating 16th birthday. Gave a complementary dessert! Great food and service. Thank you!
Great food. Relaxed but nice dining room. Tableware and linens are great. Loved the specials. Bus staff and host were polite and gracious. Two out of three of the waiters have been kind of pushy and snarky. Seemed out of character with what is a really enjoyable restaurant.
Nice friendly atmosphere, John the waiter was attentive and conveyed genuine concern that we have an excellent experience. The food was prompt, came as exactly as ordered and was delicious. Greatly enjoyed the lunch and would strongly recommend!
This is a traditional Redwood Shore restaurant. It is consistently good, you actually see some of the same people working there for the last decade at least. It is comfortable, with authentic food well though out and prepared, in general. Menu changes, so you don't have to always be getting the same thing. Decent wine list.
Staff and management are amazing
After many enjoyable lunches at Mistral's I was very disappointed in my most recent experience. It was a treat for a dear friend. I was distracted several times looking for our server to ask for bread, more iced tea, the dessert menu, and our check. I appreciate having time to visit but I like having someone come by to check on our needs occasionally.
Reliably good food overall. But they're now charging for the bread plate! Come on guys, it's bread!
Great location, attentive waiter and good food.
Went for a midweek business meeting with 5 other people. Overall it was one of the better locations we have experienced for similar meetings. Moderate noise, but we could actually have a conversation and not be shouting...better than average acoustics. Also, easy parking, reasonably sized bar for waiting, and overall a good experience.
Steak and lobster was perfect!
Always a great experience at Mistral’s
Went for Valentine's Day & we had a great experience.
Mistral is an excellent restaurant located in Redwood Shores area off Hwy 101. Food is tasty and served at the perfect temperature, especially the Sea Scallops. Great for a business lunch with indoor and outdoor seating.
Amazing service and food! Above and beyond attention for our group! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
It was nice and service was great!
Left broke and underwhelmed. My husband and I had two glasses of wine, two appetizers and two cups of soup and it was $136 including tax. The French onion soup wasn't good and the ahi appetizer was tasteless . The smoked salmon appetizer was good tho. I had ordered the blood orange crush, a signature cocktail but sent it back because it was awful. The server only came around every 15 minutes and it was a slow Monday evening, so I don't understand why he wasn't overly attentive. Overall very disappointed and probably won't go again.
Definitely returning to their former glory. Since getting the smoker, the specials have been outstanding. Great the return to an old friend.
All of our food was really tasteless and we left it. We had been there previously and it was delicious. .maybe a new chef??
Despite checking in at host stand, and 20 feet away at the bar, we were forgotten, then marked as a "no show" and thus very slow to get seated. Food was not up to prior Mistral standards. Service suggested that they were quite understaffed. Lunch there is the safer choice.
Scallops were overcooked (staff brought out new order). The salmon burger was breaded and devoid of any salmon flavor. Bun overtook most of the burger. Only winning part of the meal were the fries
The place was packed with large groups, making it very noisy and hard to carry on a conversation. We would have chosen an alternative date had we known so many business groups would be there.
This is still a little hidden gem for very nice dining and fortunately it’s not in the mainstream area so we are able to come here last minute and still get a large table.
The service is always excellent here and they definitely strive to accommodate. The food is usually very good.
I just feel the prices are a bit higher than they should be.
With that said we will continue to come here and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere right on the water.
Best place ever.
Always terrific. Seems to get even better each year. My favorite place to have a good time.
My go to for business meetings. Food and service are wonderful and ambience is fantastic for all occasions.
Not as great as usually expect of this spot, which is generally my go to in Redwood City area.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch. Decided to sit in the main dining room instead of the covered patio. Attentive server. Delicious burger and fries. We were able to carry on a good conversation without a high noise level, which we really appreciate. (Some restaurants nowadays are built for noise).
- out of the beet salad - not good - should have been warned before ordering
It was good , however a waiter should know the soup of the day, then when he finds that out why would he not of asked about the fish of day no he has to go back again. Ok so no big deal we order finally and crap he comes back to teell us they are out of 4 different dishes, it’s only 6:30 for gosh sacks. What we we’re finally allowed to eat was great.
But the manager had better step up his or her game or this place will be in trouble soon.
I had a terrific lunch catching up with an old colleague at mistral last week. We both enjoyed the two different seafood specials of the day. The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked I thought the service was quite attentive and enjoy this restaurant quite a bit
Have been going to Mistrals for many many years. This time I ordered the pork chop and it was very dry. will not order it again. Also the paella was taken off the menu which was myf avorite.
Overall very good rating. Only comment is ... I requested table by fireplace via OpenTable. But, restaurant didn’t even recognize the request or say whether it could be accommodated. I did not say anything, but the space was available for a small group of our size. It’s a simple thing and experience was still good. I’d like a restaurant to just recognize a guest’s request.
