Our waitress took a long time to get to us initially. Later, when we asked for “one minute “ to make a decision about a bottle of wine, she didn’t come back for 20+ minutes! I’m gluten free and she was not at all helpful regarding the menu choices; she didn’t make any suggestions. When I commented that in the past they’ve had more gf choices, she stated “I’ve been working here for two years, and no, they haven’t.” Fairly rude! I asked item by item and when I finally asked about the paella she said “Yes, that’s gf” - I’m not sure why she didn’t tell me in the first place. The food was good and I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere, but most visits that I’ve had to Mistral the service has unfortunately been questionable at best.
We had a great time celebrating my son's birthday. I had a nice fish (Hawaiian Ono) dish, and others in our party had the teriyaki steak and salmon. We all loved our food and our drinks. We also loved our amazing server Alex. The ambience in the outdoor area was beautiful. The only sad part was that one of the steak specials and a chocolate dessert sold out before we could get them.
Great outside space and great food!
Absolutely loved this restaurant. It was our first time and we were quite impressed with the top quality of the dishes we ordered. We enjoyed the short menu which made it simple and not overwhelming to order from.
The waitress was slow to take our order. We were one of the fist to arrive inside but 4th to receive our meal.
Food and service was exceptional, although, no acknowledgment for my friends Birthday ( it was Part of the reservation "special occasion " so it was noted) While we were waiting for our check, the manager answered the phone, and since we were within an earshot (unfortunately) we heard the conversation. After the manager hung up, he proceeded to talk negatively about the person that called to the staff. He was stipulating how that person's last reservation was in 2017, and prior to that 2008. As I looked around at the 6 tables occupying Mistral currently, and everything going on in the world economically and financially I thought it was a bit judgemental . This griping went on for a good ten minutes at all the employees chimed in. From a guests perspective, I found this to be VERY unprofessional and distasteful from a manager. We should have never heard any of this and spending as much money as we did this was a very unfortunate and disappointing experience. Needless to say, their are so many amazing restaurants out there, that we won't be back.
The food has never been better at Mistral thanks to new chef, Dylan, who is taking Mistral's dining experience to a new level. My husband and I have been going to this little neighborhood gem for years and the team has always felt like family.
But now the food is worthy of a great restaurant hidden in our little corner of the Bay.
The mussels are exquisite and in a fine sauce that includes a touch of pernod and plenty of fresh herbs. A simple caesar salad has been transformed with a light authentic dressing, perfectly toasted croutons and real boquerones. The artichoke soup is like a french artichoke potage drizzled with chili oil. The half chicken melted in our mouths and found us wiping the plate with bread so we wouldn't miss out on any of the sauce.
Two days later, we went back and had the bavette steak, along with a couple more caesar salads. The steak was just as mouth watering.
But whatever you do, don't go there. I want to be sure I can still get in when the word gets out!
The ambiance was great, the food was decent, the prices were high.
I hesitated to write this review but I really want to point out a few things so other guest will know how long a dinner takes at Mistrals.
We sat down at dinner at 6:30. We waited at the table for 20 minutes before being noticed. We waited another 20 minutes for our 1st round of drinks. We ordered when they delivered those drinks. Our dinner arrived 1 hour after we ordered and we ordered a 2nd round of drinks. My meal was cold. I had the skirt steak which was tasty but a very small portion. The mash potatoes were under the steak along with 2 carrot slices. I didn't want to send it back because the order took so long! Our 2nd drink order didn't come until we were almost finished with dinner. We ordered dessert and that took another 30 minutes. Thank goodness we were not in a hurry because start to finish the dinner took 3.5 hrs for 4 people and the bill was not worth the wait or the food.
Went here for my birthday and received the best service ever! The servers were all so friendly and they gave us a bottle of wine to take home. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
I went here on a first date. It was lovely & the atmosphere made it easy to chat & learn about one another. Food was amazing & service was incredible. Definitely a great date night choice.
Mistral is a nice restaurant with great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to their return to normal with full menu. At the moment, their only dinner appetizers contain shellfish, which I do not eat.
However, our entrees and salads were all very good or excellent. And the desserts were fabulous-- especially the bread pudding!
Rest service and delicious food with a nice water view.
It was very nice to eat indoors again and mistral did not disappoint. Willie is a great waiter and always makes it fun. The food was delicious!
Great spot for dinner and cocktails
Service was very good and food eas excellent
Always outstanding service and delicious food. Mistral never disappoints!
Excellent restaurant and extremely safe patio ambiance. There food is really good and so our the specialty drinks. They use to have a very good happy hour but with the Covid not sure if that is still available. Well worth visiting, we will definitely go back.
Despite the limited menu due to covid, the food was as good as it's always been, service was great and appreciative of our business, ambiance was nice due to limited capacity due to covid.
No one takes as much pride in their work as Mistral. Management and staff (especially Oscar) go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They remember us, remember our favorites, and they are always successfully trying new menu items. The atmosphere is cozy but open. I can't say enough about this place, thank you for making my birthday special!
Mistrals us one of our go to spots especially during this last year, outside dining or takeout . Wonderful service and delicious food!
Could not have been happier! Beautiful view, wonderful staff, and scrumptious food.
We had an issue with a very noisy table behind us and restaurant staff were proactive in checking in with us about the situation and then quietly and professionally diffusing it.
Cannot recommend mistral enough!
Had a lovely evening dining at Mistral. Wonderful and attentive service and very accommodating since we asked for our own “specialty” cocktail which was made to perfection. Ask for a Bee’s Knees...can opt for gin or vodka, served up and it’s delish!
Recommend the teriyaki skirt steak with salad starter and order the bread for dipping! Spacious open air seating with warmth generated by overhead heaters. Very cozy. We are going back!
Excellent meal and service as always. It feels like family here.
The filet mignon and scallops were delicious. The filet is probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
I highly recommend Mistral!
Awesome as always!
Food and service were very good, Pricing was 33% higher than pre covid. Not a welcoming thing. Hope pricing returns to normal so I will come back. Long time diner at Mistral.
Daughters birthday
The dining experience was quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised with the ambience, service and quality of each dishes taste and preparation The service was fantastic (especially Jacque) who was extra attentive to our needs.
So great to get out! The patio is perfect, NOt cold at all! Everything was great, food was good not like WOW abut good. Pretty $$ with all the cocktails but worth it!
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being obtrusive. They made the Coronavirus-compliant, outdoor seating comfortable and intimate.
This is our community dining experience in a beautiful tranquil waterfront environment. Very warm, comfortable and relaxing. The food is a healthy treasure and we are blessed to have such a wonderful experience in our backyard.
My salmon was exceptional. Best I have ever had in a restaurant. My husband's scallops were cooked perfectly. We will be going back again this week before menu changes.
Steak was thin and scallops were overseasoned (too salty)
It was amazing! The service was great. But the steak was the best part! Mouth watering! It was definitely a hot topic of conversation for the rest of the weekend.
Amazing experience!!
We enjoy Mistrals very much, the food and service is spectacular. The waiter was fantastic, friendly and impeccable service. We have been many times to Mistrals and will keep going back!!

Everything was perfect. We loved our food. The temperature was comfortable and the ambiance was nice.
The service was good, too.
