We really enjoyed our whole experience here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great. We tried the BBQ Shrimp Quesadilla and Cabo Turkey Quesadilla. The portions were very generous and a great value. There were plenty of delicious desert items which are visible from a showcase. This made it much easier to choose what I wanted. I tried the lemon crumble cheesecake and it was amazing. There was plenty of free parking. It is kind of tucked away and not visible from the street, which creates a nice ambiance. Would definitely return to try more things.

Valentines dinner for 7 was perfect. Our table was ready when we arrived, the staff greeted us like old friends, the food came quickly and was delicious. Will definitely come again.

Love the atmosphere, a hidden gem worth finding. The staff is very attentive and happy to help. The food is very good and there's always a daily list of specials to choose from. Some of my favorites are the unconstructed chicken tortilla soup, blackened chicken sandwich,as well as the Southwest chicken salad, all delicious!?

Pasta could use more Italian herbs. Our server should have mentioned/asked if I wanted an 'extra salad' when I ordered the house salad, which I thought was a salad choice that came with the meal. I was surprised with a Caesar salad on the dinner plate, in addition to the house salad. My seafood trio was not nearly as good as I hoped. The sea bass was tasty, though small (1x3") and only warm, not hot; the crab cakes were tasteless, doughy meatballs; the two small shrimp were okay. All of the seafood was drenched in a thickened lemon caper sauce, which certainly was unexpected.

We hadn't been to Misto in years and fortunately it hasn't changed much. We had tremendous service and the food was full of comfort on a chilly night. We will put it back in our restaurant routine.

My reservation was for Misto’s in Caoe Coral, FL! You mistakenly also gave me a reservation in California the same night! Bad mistake. OPEN TABLE!

Nice place to have a quiet Friday evening dinner. Ambience is not great but still a comfortable place to have dinner with not much noise. It didn’t affect the enjoyment of our dinner at all but we wasted 15 minutes trying to unscramble a bunch of letters on the menu in order to get our reward of a cookie for dessert only to find the word ( and therefore the collection of letters) has been misspelled. Management needs to double check this on Wikipedia before printing !

My book club meets there once a month, at 11:30 a.m. The restaurant is very receptive, and the staff are very accommodating. We love the young woman who seems to be on the Thursday schedule. They do not rush us out, which is nice since our books stimulate extended conversation.

It wasn’t very crowded on a Sunday evening . I asked our server about the seafood special which said it a grill.I asked about the crab cakes and they were deep fried. I said I wasn’t really eating fried foods but since they were so small I would eat them. It came with a Caesar salad and a starch. I told her I didn’t want to starch and asked if I could have vegetables which they gave me. When the plate arrived I was surprised that the white fish was not grilled. It look like it had been floured and sautéed. The shrimp were OK and the fish was tasty but they were not grilled. I liked the Caesar salad and I like that it makes his vegetables which would seem very fresh. I wish the server had told me that how the fish was cooked.I never thought to ask her that since it was called grilled. The only reason I asked about the crabcakes was I have never had grilled crabcakes. We also ordered the chocolate essential dessert And we asked if it was like a flourless chocolate cake and she told us it was like a lava cake except it wasn’t hot because if they cooked it and served it hot all the chocolate would come out which is what a lava cake would do. It was good but slightly weird because it was cold and hard. I don’t believe there was manager on site so I don’t think there was anyone to answer questions.

Misto's is always good.

Food is made from scratch. The scones are fresh and delicious. Outside area is pretty and the heaters are great in the morning hours.

Always gets my thumbs up.

It was for my dads birthday dinner (76 to be exact) we spent his 75 at Mistos as well along with several other family members June birthdays. We will be back on June 13 for my nephews. There was a party of 19, original reservations for 15, two weeks prior to birthday.
Posivites were definitely our wonderful server Fabie she was very pleasant and professional on top of being attentive to us all being a large party. Wait time for the food to come out was great as well and all dishes came out together, which is amazing! Good ambiance and everyone always has a great time at Mistos.

The only two negatives were one this was the first time they were not set up for our party and seemed like someone forgot but made up for it quickly and gave us our normal big party spot. So that was handled rather quickly. And the other negative would be they didn’t have enough of there delicious daily specials just a few short on the ribs that our party of men were looking forward to but other than that everything was great and enjoyable!

Thank you again for another great birthday dinner and we will see you on June 13!

The fish was fresh and beautifully prepared. Appetizers were varied and tasty. The wine selection was good and fairly priced. Service was excellent. You can chose one of the bakery items for dessert and there are even picnic baskets you can order ahead for a picnic or an evening out to the Hollywood Bowl. Misto Caffe is truly a neighborhood gem.

Mother’s Day. Upon arriving, the manager looks at his watch and says “you’re late, I just canceled your reservation. You’ll have to wait a few minutes until we seat you”. Not exactly a welcoming gesture for this first-timer. The food and wait staff was very nice. I might go back. But my first impression was awful thanks to the rude welcoming by the manager.

Mistos did not disappoint. This has been a favorite for brunch with our family since our kids were little. Servers have been there a long while and are very attentive and efficient. Baked goods to start are always wonderful. Would be nice to offer a GF version. Food was delicious and well prepared. Everyone loved their food.
Only ding would be a better way to alert the staff when you have decaf coffee. My last refill I forgot to ask and must have gotten reg coffee and felt it about 1/2 hour later. I can't drink reg coffee for health reasons and if I do have a cup by accident it really affects me. Was able to minimize some by drinking a lot of water throughout the rest of afternoon.

What a delightful place to have lunch. I loved the ambiance, the food & the service was excellent. I celebrated my birthday there so they gave me a choice of a lemon bar or some sort of chocolate nut bar, chose the lemon bar. It was so delicious!

Met some friends for brunch; what a cute little place! We would have sat outside however it was just too cold. My spouse and one friend had the French toast, and my other friend and I had the Turkey Croissant sandwich. Overall great food, great service (very friendly); we'll be back again when in the area!

This was my first visit to Misto Caffe and Bakery. I drove down from LA to meet a friend. We chose to sit in the outside dining area. The seating was comfortable. It is covered and has side shades but was very airy. Our server came by to check on us a few times to see if we were ready to order. When we told her we hadn’t seen each other for 30 years she told us to take our time. We must have talked for 10-30 minutes before we ordered.
The menu is pretty extensive. I did not notice whether they have gf items. I would call to inquire before going. I had the garden burger which can be a “blah” choice but it came with lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, red onion and sun dried tomato. I tasted the bun because it looked so good and it was but I opted to not eat it because I also ordered the sweet potato fries. They were a little salty but I generally don’t salt my food. My friend had the beet and goat cheese salad. She loved it.
We spent about two hours there. We weren’t rushed and we were able to have a conversation without disturbing other diners. I will go back there again if I am anywhere in the Southbay.
