We had our daughter's graduation lunch here. The service was awesome and the meals were tasty. The only critical thing I could say is the food took a little longer than I would have expected. Since we were not in any hurry and they had brought out bread and we ordered bubbly we were fine. We used the time for gift opening. Overall we had a very enjoyable lunch.
We had a Father’s Day reservation at Mission Inn and it was great food and service!
We came here for Fathers Day Dinner and it was wonderful. Would totally recommend.
I was a little disappointed. We’ve been coming here for years and always enjoyed the gourmet and variety of food. Today the food was like any other brunch but overpriced. They didn’t have the crab legs, a selection of meat, and their chicken was dry. Sadly, i don’t think we’ll be coming here again.
awsome experience with wonderful food and exceptional service
Service and Food was fantastic, This was our 2nd visit within 30 days. We love Saturdays Lunch Buffet!! Our server Beth was engaged and did a phenomenal job ;-) We will be back... thanks again for exceeding our expectations!!
Had Father’s Day lunch with family. Ambiance was perfect and food very good and service excellent!
Great ambiance. Impeccable service. Healthy lunch buffet,
Amazing everything! Best steak I've ever had!
A great place for an intimate date
Joined by two family friends for lunch we all coincidentally ordered the Cobb Salad. There is a reason, beyond convenience, that the lunchtime servers recommend the luncheon buffet. How do you possibly deconstruct a Cobb Salad to the point that the three of us ate less than half of our salads. The underlying lettuce was old and consisted mostly of the core pieces of the lettuce head. The hard boiled eggs, rather than chopped, were carved into crown shaped edifices that required you to chop them up and sprinkle them throughout the salad. The salad dressing was lumpy and the blue cheese hard to discover. This restaurant has struggled for decades with the quality of its food and its preparation. I will not go back!
You would think that Mission Inn is a classic and fancy place. No, it is as noisy and loud as a farmer's market. The food is ok, but not stunning. Overall, the experience is over-priced. The only thing that is cool is the Mission Inn building, which you could just walk in and have a tour. Overall, the Sunday brunch is not recommended.
Our 17th Anniversary
The food at the Mission Food is outstanding, along with the decor. The fact that I can walk there is just the icing on the cake.
We love the Mission Inn! We've never had a bad experience!
It was my husband's birthday, and I wanted to make our dinner date memorable. Our server Steve was very impressive, he was courteous, professional and attentive. The atmosphere was delightful, giving me the impression we were in for a special dining experience. I ordered the white fish, and when it arrived I could see it was overcooked and tasted terrible. Our server was understanding and took back the offending fish, and I chose the roasted chicken. My husband had the fried chicken and while I waited for my meal, he shared his plate with me. It was not anything to rant about, it was mediocre. When my food was delivered, a half roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, with some burnt unrecognizable vegetable , which looked to be Yams, I found the meal to be very unsatisfactory. It was boxed and thrown away this morning. I expected something more, and was let down, It was to say the least a very expensive meal, and I left hungry. Otherwise our waiter was wonderful, I will not be coming here again maybe for a drink just to enjoy the view, but beware of the menu.
For the price charged $46.00 per person with Champagne or $42.00pp without Champagne the Brunch is just good. Way over priced.
Very disappointed that we never received a call back from the restaurant manager about our bill in which the server overcharged the tax on our bill by two times. We will try to get in contact again but very poor customer service. Definitely would never suggest going to The Mission Restaurant again or suggest it to a friend.
The architecture was nice. Otherwise, the two fish entrees were not fresh and were too salty. Oh, and don't forget that a chocolate cupcake here means a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting. Strange.
There are far better places to dine in downtown Riverside.
Beautiful surroundings & the buffet during lunch hour was outstanding!
Hostess was charming. Waiter was attentive and courteous. The ambience was lovely and romantic! However, the food was not sufficiently heated. The waiter brought out new sides of mashed potatoes and beets but even though the plates were hot, the food was less than warm. The waiter was apologetic and brought out a complimentary dessert. The problem seemed to be emanating from the kitchen.
My friend and I visited the Mission Inn for the first time and had a great time! The Mission Inn is so full of history and beautiful architecture. Our dinner was great and dessert at Casey's Cupcakes, topped off the deliciousness. The ice cream infused cupcake was delish!!!
The ambience was wonderful. Such a beautiful hotel. The only thing that was a bummer is having forgotten my card and had to cancel it because I was out of town.
Muy lindo lugar, excelente servicio delicioso todo.
I do not like brunches, but my friends wanted to go. I absolutely loved it! The food was terrific and easy to go get more! Every food I tasted was excellent! I will do brunch again at the Mission Inn for sure! I have only everything good to say about it!
It was an excellent experience overall. However I did not like people lining up by us for food while we tried to eat at our table. That was a nuisance
Thank you so much for a wonderful birthday brunch!
Everything was just amazing.
We had the buffet. The food was pretty good but not hot enough. The desserts were really good. The service and the ambiance were very nice.
Excellent food. Excellent variety and freshly prepared. Outstanding quality.
Let's start with the pros: Mission Inn is a lovely setting for a nice dinner date. The atmosphere is rustically beautiful in a European style for Southern California. Nothing seems brand new, and yet nothing seems old and dirty. Indeed, it has a very nice feeling of yesteryear or nostalgic dining. The wine selection is pretty good, and I had a nice glass of Chateauneuf du Pape. If you are dining just for the atmosphere, you can't go wrong coming here.
Now for the cons. Service was really sub standard. The wait staff was inconsistent and generally inattentive. We dined outside and the patio heater was low on gas. Only towards the end of our dinner did they bring over a new heater. It was too little too late. We dined for about $50 per person, but the food was about on par with an Olive Garden or Outback Steakhouse. It was not fine dining, dispite the linen table cloths.
Overall, we left disappointed. Perhaps we came with too high expectations.
I have eaten here frequently over the last several years. Normally the food and service has been great but the last 3 times I have been their the quality of the food was not good. There were four in the party for a late lunch and it was not extremely busy. Table was not set up properly (no "set up" and when asked, they brought only enough for 2), the lunch took about 30 minutes and 3 of the four did not really care for the food. I had a Ruben sandwich with twice as much meat than should have been, limited sauerkraut and barely a hint of dressing.
We met long time friends that we hadn’t seen in years for dinner. Everyone agreed the food and atmosphere were wonderful! We weren’t rushed and were able to spend time chatting and catching up. The service was excellent.
Second time at the Mission Inn. Both my wife and I had the filet mignon and it was excellent. Both we done just as we asked and they were extremely tender and flavorful.
Although it's a bit out of our way, we will be back.
Always a super experience!
The architecture of the building is amazing! A little fancy but it’s worth visiting. Food is delicious and the service was excellent.
So beautiful and the food was excellent. wonderful day had by all.
Executive Chef, Richard Mendoza and his staff did an outstanding job in creating food for all! There were crab claws and crab legs, delicious chicken and meat dishes, as well as mini pizzas on short tables for kids. The Mother's Day brunch is outstanding.
We have only been here for Mother’s Day Brunch, but we’ve come here several times and they never disappoint. They have a great selection of food and the service is excellent. The fact that it’s located in a beautiful, historic hotel is the icing on the cake! We’ve tried other local brunches, but always end up back here.
We went for mother’s day Sunday brunch with an 8am reservation. Ones we got there they told us the mother’s day brunch would start at 9 and they couldn’t move our reservation. Wish they would of said that a little early when I made my reservations. Overall we still enjoyed our stay and breakfast will be going back soon. Great place to eat and spend the weekend.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Server was very professional and friendly. Upon ordering food came out quickly and prepared perfectly. Highly recommend.
Wonderful buffet. Enjoyed everything about the dinner!
