Dinner with family
Went the for brunch on my daughter's 21st birthday. We both had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. It was amazing. We sat outside in the patio, the fountain was peaceful and having the hotel around us was beautiful. Will definitely go back for another delicious meal on the beautiful patio.
Met for Sunday Brunch at 1:00. Was a little worried going so late, but I was worried for nothing. The food continued to be replenished, hot and fresh, well through the 2:00 posted brunch conclusion. Our waitress was great, the staff manning the waffle/omelette/eggs Benedict bar were very accommodating. Eggs Benedict is done properly, poached in a bain marie, with lovely, smooth hollandaise. The carving stations were great, nice selection of hot dishes, and the seafood selections were high quality and fresh. This brunch is an elegant showcase of downtown Riverside, and one of our favorites anywhere.
We had a great time on a cold spring afternoon and evening. A very pleasant place to unwind, which we did.
We were celebrating 4 birthdays with gifts, etc. And not one word from the waitress while they were singing to others celebrating. We spent a lot of money. It would have been nice to hear "happy birthday at least."
Stake and sides overspiced with garlic. ....not everyone's taste
Ambience is to die for, but the food is nowhere close. Also, they seemed short-staffed, and the music from the nearby bar was too loud. I’d go back for a drink on the outdoor patio (farther from
the bar) on a warm evening but skip the food.
Wonderful staff, food was delicious, and ambiance was very sweet and peaceful.
Had the New York steak. Had no flavor And the vegs were burnt. Second time that we went to the The Mission Inn for dinner and the food has been the same, not impressed
It was my first time there and it was the day before my aunts birthday and a week before my birthday. So it was combined birthday dinner/ladies night and the staff brought out Crème brûlée with happy birthday written and with a candle. It was lovely.
It was a very positive experience
I love the mission inn and all of the restaurants in the hotel.
The drinks weren't on point as they usually are and they cooked my steak to the cook my husband requested on his steak. So just a few small discrepancies. It was also my birthday but they didn't acknowledge it..
I will go back again but maybe get a drink from the presidential bar instead of the restaurant.
The food, service, and ambiance wove a wonderful experience for myself and my very special guests. We were all delighted with the experience.
nice setting, nice ambiance, food is ok, service a little slow, kitchen a little slow, good drinks, reasonable price drinks
My family and I really enjoy the outside patio dining. However, the last 2 visits came up short of expectations. We actually got the exact same server on both occasions - not very good. Server was not very attentive and we were there for over 2 hours. Recommendation: Do not try and order the Casey's Cupcakes - they have a menu of many flavors, but actually only offer about 3 (if those are even available). PS> Casey's is located right next door! Too bad...we will not be returning!
Ordered the pan seared salmon and the rib eye. The salmon was too salty and the vegetable was mushy and over cooked. But the worst part was the molten lava cake for dessert. It was too dry, almost inedible. We actually left 2/3 of the cake on the plate.
Nice outdoor seating but service was very slow, food was just ok
Sunday brunch has always been a winner. In the past we have always been impressed with the array of tasty food and ambiance. Unfortunately, we felt our waiter was not as attentive as we have become accustomed in our past experiences. He refilled our drinks once and when he walked by our table, he just glanced over, never asked how we were doing. We have always had top-notch service so this was disappointing!
Came to Celebrate my Mothers Birthday Service was wonderful Food was Great ...thank you so much for. Wonderful Experience.
Reunited with friends
Food was average quality. Atmosphere outstanding. Service was slow. Apps were delivered at same time as dinner.
Went for breakfast on Saturday, the server pushed the buffet and seemed disgruntled when we declined. The food was ok but plain, like something I would whip up at home instead of what I expected to find here. We changed our dinner reservations to Duane’s Steakhouse and were very pleased with dinner.
The view was lovely. We sat in the courtyard which is located in the middle of the hotel. The food was good and not too expensive. We also had a couple of cocktails which were generous on the alcohol side, but not too "strong," if that makes sense.
The ONLY part of our dining experience that was a let down was the service. Being our first time here, we needed a few minutes to look over the menu and the drink list. After our server checked on us for the second time in two minutes, and we told her we needed another minute, she decided to give us about 20 minutes. We finally ordered our drinks and food at the same time to ensure we didn't miss her for another 20 minutes. She did not offer us bread for the table, when she clearly brought our neighbors a basket without them having to ask. We didn't really need bread, but we felt it was the principal of it all. To be honest, it felt a little like in the movies when minorities go to a fancy place and they are treated the way you'd expect in that type of movie.
All in all the food and drinks were good and the ambiance was nice. Next time we will hope for better service.
Historic with great ambiance. Excellent food at reasonable prices. A delightful lunch option.
My wife and I had breakfast off the menu. They do also offer a buffet option. We were very happy with our food and the service was good. The history of this place and how well it is taken care of is worth the visit alone. We will be back for lunch or dinner. The patio dining area did not open until 9:00am.
Mission Inn is a delight. Amazing atmosphere -- loaded with arts and crafts design touches reflecting the California mission fantasy of the early 1900s. Food is ordinary -- good just not special. But who cares? Just to be in these surroundings is magical.
Unique, historic site with good food and outstanding service.
It was our first time having Easter Brunch at the Mission Inn. Our reservation was for 1230. We were surprised to find a long line to get seated. We weren't seating until 1250. So, we recommend arriving 30 minutes early. We'll do that next year. They had a wide selection including crab, shrimp, prime rib, lamb, made to order - omelettes, eggs Benedict, Belgian waffles, salads, desserts, and much more!
It was wonderful and great service
The lovely patio was a beautiful spot to celebrate a birthday and early Easter. The food is definitely a cut above usual hotel fare. My salmon was perfectly cooked. My husband loved his crispy half chicken. Our guests had two different steaks which were actually grilled to medium rare as requested.
I did not have the greatest service. Our waitress kept disappearing and my friends and I had to wait a long time just to order. We had to ask someone else to help us with getting a high chair we had already asked for and some more coffee. Our original waitress seemed to have an attitude when we were first ordering and flustered the whole time we were there. I don’t know if she was annoyed because we had questions about the menu because my friend and I are vegan. Then she ended up spilling a pitcher of water all on herself because she was trying to carry too much items all at once. She also struggled big time trying to get one of the umbrellas to open to shade us from the sun. She was not very professional at all. I did like how they had an option for vegans for breakfast but I only knew that because I saw it on their online menu. The food was good but definitely not worth the price. Outdoor patio seating was very nice. Everyone was really great except our waitress. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.
Had dinner to celebrate our son’s birthday. Wished we had a better waiter, who wasn’t attentive at all. Too long a gap between appetizer and entrees. Water wasn’t refilled and had to call another waiter to order dessert. Disappointed experience.
Beautiful outdoor dining in courtyard at back. Steven our waiter was particularly good. Have been there many times. Manhattans are watered down too much and disappointing but other drinks seem ok. Good selection on seafood buffet.
So surprised I had the best dinner in the stake house. So disappointed for lunch the glasses were dirty so they bought us new ones. The waitress never came to check how we were doing and she encouraged the buffet, it took 45 minutes to get a sandwich do the rest of us got the buffet which was decent. I would never eat lunch there again we were at the mission in restsurant
Theater season ticket holder. Always have gone to La Tratoria or Los Companas. First time coming to this restaurant before a show....best experience ever! Los Companas can never get us out in time (and I come to eat 2 hours prior to show!) and La Tratoria has changed menu, everything is toooooo spicy, and service is horrible! I will be making my reservations for the Mission Inn Restaurant from now on!
Had an amazing time for a Sunday dinner at the Mission Inn. It was my first time and I brought along my mom and sister to have dinner there. Great food & beautiful peaceful place. I absolutely loved it, will be going back again soon!
Food was ok chicken was uncooked my husband got a dirty plate and i got dirty silverware! Waitress was rude
We celebrated my wife’s birthday and had an awesome time. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional.
Great steak. Definitely recommend that $40 New Yorker
