My family has been having an annual Christmas brunch here for years now. In the past, they served hash browns, but not last weekend. We really missed those. A dinner-type potato at breakfast is a bummer.

I took a friend for her birthday lunch. The ambiance was great.
The service was great.
The food was very good.
The value was good.
It was well worth the drive at Christmas season. I haven’t been there before but can well imagine it would be delightful as well.

We went for my sister's birthday and had a wonderful experience, they brought out a piece of cake with a candle. Such a beautiful, elegant hotel and restaurant. Would definitely go back

The service was slow at first but we didn't mind because we enjoyed the festival of lights ambiance. We did enjoy that we didn't feel rushed. My husband had the filet and I had the salmon, both were amazing!

I love this restaurant. The food is always very good and the service is excellent. It is a special place in Riverside that everyone must experience. It is a place to go for that special occasion or just for a romantic dinner.

What a special treat! Everyone is very friendly--staff, other guests, Santa. Immediate seating. Delicious food. We hope to make this a regular event, not just for Christmas.

It was a wonderful evening. In the beginning the service was a little slow. Once Cindy, our server found out no one had been to our table, she took over. Cindy was exceptional. She was personal, caring, knew the menu, wines, and cocktails like the back of her hand. She was very professional. Excellent server!
The food wasn't very good. Our appetizer, calamari was tough and chewy. Our steaks were very chewy, the garlic shrimp dish was over cooked and served cold. The shrimp was tough. The only good dish was the meat and cheese dish. The drunken goat cheese was very good. It was my first time trying it. I would recommend this dish to everyone.

We went to the Mission Inn Restaurant for our 37th Wedding Anniversary dinner and to celebrate the Festival of Lights. We requested and got a patio table where the courtyard was beautifully lit with Christmas lights, decorations and animated characters! There is a heater at every table so while it was a cool evening, it was very pleasant at our table. We had the Orange Grove Salad, Herb Roasted Half Chicken and the Classic filet Mignon. The salad appears to be a Signature dish and was Excellent. What a blend of ingredients in this salad! The Herb Roasted chicken was a recommendation from the waiter and also was awesome. The chicken is marinated for hours making it very tender and juicy! The filet mignon could be cut with a fork, it was that tender. It was a great Anniversary dinner and we will definitely go back again!

Disappointing first visit to the Inn. The Light Festival was magnificent, but our $42 prime rib from the buffet was barely warm. The buffet itself needed refreshing. Not worth the price.

Our server was sweet but very distracted; this was the only downside. Stayed one night for the Festivsl of Lights so the entire Inn was beautifully decorated. The heated patio was comfirtable and the food was delicious! We both had the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked. The au jus was very tasty as was the side of roasted fingerling potato with asparagus. Our salads were large and fresh with wonderful dressing. All in all it was a lovely meal.

We were on a bus tour to see the lights at the Mission Inn for Christmas. I made a reservation ahead and was glad we did. We had a lovely dinner...three people at the Steak and said it was excellent served with smashed potatoes and wonderful asparagus. We shared a wedge salad and another - both perfect shared. I had the Ahi Tuna which was perfect. Dessert was the chocolate Souffle.
It was a lovely room and a great way to enjoy the holidays.

Property is historic and stunning. All restaurants are great. Valet parking is over priced. Long walk and $16 per car - no validation for dining on property. This will be our limiting factor for dining on property in the future.

We were seated in the restaurant shortly after we arrived and received water , bread and were told our sever would be there shortly. Perhaps 15 minutes later, a harried young man stopped beside our table to tell us that our server had just gone on a 30 minute break and that service would be slow. Maybe 15 minutes later, he came back and took our order .Our menu items were delivered by a different person on staff. My steak was cold in the middle but there was no server to speak to about it. Our server did eventually arrive, explaining that she had been on a break, but by then it was too late to say anything about the meal nor, frankly did I want to wait any longer so I just asked for the bill and left.
I understand that it is a busy time of year and that employees need a break however I don't feel that patrons should be asked to wait while those needs are accommodated.
I was especially disappointed because it was a birthday dinner for my daughter, and the neglect ful table service made me feel that I had made a very poor choice for that special occasion.

The Mission Inn is a wonderful place to visit during the holidays. Decorations are beautiful, and seasonal favorites like poinsettias are everywhere. The hostess and reservation clerk are very courteous. The food is lackluster and expensive for lunch, but the atmosphere is worth it for meeting family and friends during the holiday season.

Love the Mission Inn, especially at Christmas time. Though our server seemed inattentive and/or preoccupied, this experience was out of the ordinary, and we will continue to dine there. My chicken was a bit dry...this isn't typical either. We had first-time guests with us, and had hoped for a better experience. The ambiance and carolers make for a wonderful night around the holidays, and our first-timers seemed to really enjoy themselves. Overall, we had a great night at the Mission Inn restaurant.

We have been to the restaurant for a family gift- 1st time last year was great but this last visit was disappointing because the servers were busy talking & not focused on the guest. We had to ask the host 3 times to verify our reservation of which it was booked but had arrived 1/2 hr early was waiting for other people. During that time we became the only ones waiting with our guest in the table area & the host did not mention we could be seated. Had to approach the host 3rd time about our reservation of which he replied-he thought we were still waiting for our guest- there were only 4 of us.
We had to ask for bread but came after our meal. The service was disappointing . Food was very good & seating in the opening area was pleasant.
It did not start out well but our guests did not complain & they were happy with everything.

Quotes for my birthday with family and friends on November 30th at 9:30. My mother's plate the potatoes were hard and undercooked, my friends plate the potatoes were cold and egg was overdone. My harsh browns were cold, and english muffin was under toasted. Everything was recooked. Waitress was awesome. I go there for the holidays and for my birthday this was the first time this has ever happened. I love the Mission Inn I will only speak highly of this place.

We had made advanced reservations for a birthday celebration and requested at that time a good table. We were placed right in front of the kitchen. We were told if we wanted to be seated outside we would have to wait close to an hour. This was a mid week reservation and they weren’t that busy. Our server was great and did her best to make up for our seating. Food is nothing spectacular. Average dinner.

Disappointed in the Buffet selections and preparation.
Salad bar was fair. Vengarette was good others poor.
Chicken prep was terrible. It was a rubber chicken with a tasteless dressing
Steak with onions and peppers was good. Cooked ok with excellent flavors from the gravy.
The veggies were good as well as mashed potatoes.
Salmon was fair. The gravy was blend.
Prime rib was very good.
Desserts choices were excellent.
Our waitress, Sloan was exceptional.

The building and decorations are all too old. They look great in pictures online but not in person. The flavor of the olives in pasta primavera was too strong for the dish and $18 seems to be pricey for it. The main dishes for the buffet are fine. The fruits are all too raw.
There were 4 of us in our group. The sizes of the knife, forks are all different from each other. The utensils are all wrapped up in the napkins so whoever put them together were not careful. Also, a restaurant charging that price should not have wrapped utensils in napkins.
The server quality is low for this price range of restaurant. When my daughter ordered a hot tea, the server did not ask what flavor she wanted and just brought out whatever flavor the server chose. Also, she poured hot water in both the cup and the water pot . So the server expects the customer to dip the tea bag into the cup and then move it over to the water pot.
My daughter has gluten free diet so we brought our own birthday cake. We asked the server to bring the cake out as a surprise. Usually, servers at other restaurants will sing the happy birthday song when he/she approaches close enough. But our server did not. So we had to start singing ourselves and the customers at next table were nice to join in.
Then we asked the server to bring new dessert plates for us. You will think that the server will be smart enough to bring a cake knife and dessert forks for us. But no, she did not.
After lunch, we went to restroom closest to restaurant but were told that the staff was stocking up. So we were sent to use the one upstairs. Then there is a security guard standing by the stairways and was stopping us since we were not guests staying at the hotel room. We had to explain to the guard. We have been to many hotels including 5 stars that no one will do that. That makes us feel quite awkward.
