Mission Inn Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We visited the Mission Inn for the first time. The reviews from friends and social media supported that this restaurant is great. We were getting together to say good-bye to a dear friend moving out of state... the night was perfect. From the initial sit down to the dessert, everything came together for our get together. We will definitely be back!
I wanted my 89 year old mother to see the lights and the Mission. Mom hasn't seen the Mission in years. The staff was very attentive to her needs. After dinner the staff brought us a wheel chair as Mom uses a walker but for very short distances. No charge in for the parking (handicap) which is always a nice surprise. I'll be back maybe for tea, outdoor Mexican food, and just for a really nice place. It's an hour drive for me but well worth it.
We came her for the festival of lights and had dinner at the Mission Inn restaurant. During the holiday season, they do offer buffet as well as regular menu. We went with the buffet this time, which was $42 each person. Quality of the food was pretty good, and their desert was great, especially the warm bread pudding. They have live jazz music if you choose to dine indoor. I chose the patio dining where I can see all the decoration as well as enjoying my dinner.
Mission Inn Restaurant for breakfast late morning, Anna server was friendly but didn't compare ticket to served food and forgot ordered items ordered. Huevos Rancheros were not the typical heavy dish but was very light. Eggs were cold but didn't send them back as I was hungry and afraid it would take too long. Buttermilk pancakes and side of bacon were good although did not taste the apply wood flavor.
We had breakfast at the Mission Inn restaurant after spending the night there. The patio/courtyard area is impressive and beautiful. Our waiter was slow to serve us and one of our meals came out incomplete. Food was just ok with the kids meals being much smaller than expected. It was quite pricey especially considering portion sizes.
I dined here with my family for my mother's birthday during the festival of lights. The place is really done up for the holidays, so its worth a visit just for that. Not to mention, the dinner was very good for a buffet. There weren't that many choices, but what was available was delicious. I would definitely recommend for just the ambiance alone, but the food wasn't half bad either.
The food was fair -- somewhat lacking in taste (shrimp and linguini), but good sized shrimp. The service was poor: we waited 15 minutes after we were seated to be given a menu and asked if we wanted beverages (no water). We had to flag down our waitress to order dinner, and after we ate, we sat, and sat, and sat, and sat, waiting for the waitress to remove our dishes and ask if we wanted dessert or our bill. We again had to flag down an employee who then went in search of our waitress who eventually showed up with the bill. We will not return. The prices are exorbitant and much too high for what we were served.
The service was amazing as usual. The food is so worth what you pay for. Everything is yummy and they will even but your meat on the flattop if its too pink for you and you ask nicely given it isn't insanely busy (think major holidays) they brought my fad a little cake with a candle ( we were celebrating his birthday) drinks were never empty and dirty plates were gone in a flash.
We had a 6 PM reservation but did not get seated till 6:40. Our waiter came by at 6:50 and we got our drinks at 7:10. He brought the menus at 7:20 and took orders at 7:35 . The food arrived at 8 o’clock and was very tasty. We enjoyed dessert. We have enjoyed our dinners every year at the Mission Inn but this year was disappointing.
We sat in the courtyard for dining. It was stunning when the holiday lights turned on at 5 PM. Beautifully decorated and festive. The food was quite good. Mest was a little chewy but we really came there for the ambience and glad we did. Afterwords the streets are lit up and vendors are all around. You can even take a carriage ride around the block.
The absolutely ludicrous manager was the biggest turnoff initially almost shooing is away like fries at the fact we had no reservations and he would do nothing to accommodate. Which turned out to be a complete lie, the restaurant wasn’t even half full and plenty of tables sat empty. The service in general was not at its best but the food and ambiance never disappoints.
The restaurant is gorgeous. The ambience fantastic. The lights and decorations breathtaking, the service nice and even than very slow, we never felt abandoned. The food was really bad. Very disappointed. So I would recommend to go there, stick to the delicious coctails and appetizers.
