   If you want to make someone feel like a million bucks, look no further! The Mission Inn is an architectural gem, and dining here is a charming experience with excellent service! 4 stars because my wife is vegetarian, and they could include more veg friendly options on the menu. The food is very good but not like out-of-this-world good - you're paying for the experience, and that itself is worth it! I would def keep this place in mind for birthdays, graduation celebrations, special events, etc. in the future!

   The mission inn Is so special. We ate outside and it was great. Our waiter moved the umbrellas around as the sun moved and kept us in the shade. 2 of us had chopped salads and 2 had Chinese chicken. The 5th person had the chicken sandwich. All were very good. Salads were large. Dressings were tasty and blue cheese crumbles generous 😀 Parking was a challenge more than normal due to an anomie conference downtown. We ended up valeting and were glad we did. Would likely do that again next time although it took the valet almost 30 minutes to get the car when we left. All in all a great place for a relaxed lunch with beautiful surroundings.

    Took the last brunch reservation spot available at 11:15am. Arrived to find many open tables and learned out that the breakfast/brunch was only available until 1030am. Asked the waiter if the kitchen could make an exception and the answer was a clear no. Recommend updating reservation times/menu to help us plan ahead next time.

    Drastic decline in food quality. I'm a loyal customer and dined here too many times to count. Yesterday's lunch was abysmal and down right embarrassing. Unfortunately, I was dining in a group and didn't want to upset the person who was paying. Caesar salad had been sitting already dressed for at least an hour. The sweet potato fries had also been sitting for quite a while---they were SOGGY, COLD & GREASY. Come on Mission Inn! You've got a drop dead setting. Why don't you hire a kitchen staff that perform.??? So sad to see this decline to such a special property.

    Food was good but 4 different servers came to our table, sometimes uncertain that food and drinks were actually for us. They were pleasant and eager to serve, but overall, there seemed to be a lack of supervision and coordination. I cannot blame the servers who were polite and pleasant, but there was no manager or supervisor present.

    If you go for the buffet then make sure you go early in the day. If everyone is supposed to pay the same then they should get the same service. It felt like all the attention was paid to the guests in the morning. Our dinner buffet for Mother’s Day was sub par. Food was cold, and not of the quality that you would expect of a historical place like Mission Inn. The food tables were dirty, with crumbs all over the place. Serving spoons were cross contaminated. There was no up keep to the presentation. Dessert table was in a sorry state. There was barely any dessert left for the dinner guests and nothing was replenished.

    Food was good, lots of selection, but do a better job of cleaning up the buffet station area, there was alot of mess, dirty utensils, food on the floor. Had this been addressed, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4.

    I went on Mother’s Day. The food was so so and definitely overpriced. I guess I can’t complain too much since it’s a busy day for them. I had a reservation but I still need to wait 30 minutes for my table.

    I was very disappointed with the Mother’s Day brunch, food was cold and messy. I was told it would be a bottomless champagne and mimosas and we were limited to two on small champagne glasses. For the price it was not worth it, also our reservation was delayed by 30 min due to the crowd before us, does not make sense when a reservation is made. Usually when a restaurant asks for full payment in advance you expect the best of the best. I would not recommend the Mission inn restaurant, unless you are dining at the other restaurants and would like to roam around and take pictures.

    We waited almost 50 minutes for the food and when we got the food it was of poor quality. There were 6 of us and all of the food was not good. I wish I could say something was good.

    The Mission Inn is a beautiful, historic hotel. That being said, the Mother's Day brunch was almost $100 per person and the food was sub par. You should absolutely visit just not for brunch.

    Jacob was exceptional. Even when u ordered my steak rare, but then changed my mind, he took it back to be fired a bit more, no problem. Raspberry Kiss drink, crispy rock shrimp, rib eye, shrimp linguini. All excellent

    I really enjoyed taking my Mom and daughter out to lunch for an early Mother’s Day celebration. The wait staff were very friendly and took care of everything, umbrellas to block the sun and plenty of drink refills. My only complaint, and not that detrimental is, we thought the menu was a little boring. Not much to choose from. All very traditional and original dishes. More healthy salads and clever twist on some sandwiches to choose from and it would have been perfect. The mission inn is always a treat.

    Artichoke dip cheese not melted and got it late. Daughter’s hamburger came out medium rare when requested well done. Cioppino was waaaay too salty and definitely not worth the price.

    It bums me out to write this, but what happened? I brought my family here for a special occasion and left disappointed. I would come here frequently and even spoke highly of the overall experience. This time around our server would hardly check on us and would even have an off putting attitude. The food was over seasoned on some plates while others were warm at best. Dessert was even worse; some items never arrived while the red velvet cup cake was old and wildly dry. Finally, we asked for the check and we explained the situation with the cake; he(Gerardo )replied with "Im sorry but I didn't charge for the coffee." I'm still a bit disappointed thinking about his reply. I'll consider my options a bit more in the future.

    Out of a party of five, two of us ordered the pasta with spicy sausage. Taste was very good but the dish was so greasy it was almost inedible. So as to not make it awkward for the rest of my party I picked through it but the oil just difficult to ignore and I left the plate half eaten. Mentioned it to the server and she apologized and said she’d mention it to the kitchen staff. Upon prying if others complain about greasiness of this dish she admitted that others had stated same and it had been mentioned to kitchen staff as well. I can’t understand why if others have complained, nothing is done to correct it. Disappointed to say the least

    I love the Mission Inn. Absolutely gorgeous courtyard. It feels like being in Europe without leaving Riverside. The food was amazing, especially the tenderloins appetizer. The service was also perfect. Overall, a great experience.

    Beautiful courtyard at the Riverside Mission. Food was very good and priced well. Our only disappointment was the waiter we had was very blah. He was not friendly and barely talked to us. We were seated in direct sunlight. They really need to have umbrellas available. The flowers and garden area was really gorgeous and well kept. And we didn’t feel rushed. We would come back again with the hopes that we would get better service at our table and friendlier employees.
