The food and service was great! Great for Business Lunches.
Kind of unremarkable. The service was pretty good, but the food and drinks were really just ok.
Very nice and elegant dining room. Quiet atmosphere and good for conversation. Excellent food and drinks. Good selection and excellent service. We had a round table - good for a family reunion of six of us. Will return!
Wonderful meal with somewhat overextended service.
This was a the celebration of my birthday. I’m from out of town and had made the reservation based on the menu. Upon arrival looking around the restaurant was not busy (red flag) the decor is super dated and cheap like the dining room of a mediocre hotel. Looking over the menu the one and only reason for choosing the restaurant was to get surf and turf. Well that is no longer an option Someone needs to update the menu on open table. The staff were accommodating and sent two scallops along side my filet I did appreciate the gesture and the filet was perfectly prepared. Overall I was disappointed
Great food, great service....expected the prices to be higher (I don't get out much)....highly recommended...would do it again.
I enjoyed everything about this restaurant except the lack of vegetarian offerings. Everything else: location, ambience, service (our waiter was great!), quality of food - all top shelf. Thanks!
I would recommend Mission, but probably only as a weekday lunch venue. The restaurant was very empty and quiet when we were there. With that, our server had a hard time remembering we were there.
We were given a private area for our party of eight, so it was easy to converse. It was a Tuesday evening, so bottles of wine were 50% off- very affordable. The service was fast, perhaps too fast, but the restaurant wasn’t busy. I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad, and was disappointed. It didn’t taste like what I expected, and the chicken was fried. Otherwise we all enjoyed the appetizers and entrees we ordered. I think we all agreed that we would go back.
Great food, excellent service, perfect location in the center of downtown Mpls.
Love the service in this restaurant. They are the A-team!
This place was almost perfect. We came on 1/2 price wine night, had a fabulous pinot noir, sandwiches, and chocolate cake. It was fancy enough for my wife and down home enough for me. We will return.
I love this place. It's been open for many years, but still attracts a crowd for lunch, dinner, and happy hour. The food is good, and the service is some of the best in town. Because it was my birthday celebration we were given 3 scoops of freshly made blueberry ice cream. Delicious!
We make it a point to visit Mission American Kitchen every time we’re in the Cities. They never fail to disappoint! This time, though, our waiter was exceptional! I couldn’t decide between a couple of items so I asked him to surprise me - he was game and I got a delicious walleye with rice pilaf and faro! Finished the meal with root beer floats. He was attentive but not overwhelming-always there when we needed him and just generally delightful. We’ll be back again!
Mission never disappoints. Great food, great service and great atmosphere.
Burger undercooked, slow service, did not receive complete order (missing dinner salad)
They took a reservation for our group of 10 same day and we had a great meal!
Great service and staff. It was a day before a holiday, so it was a quieter than usual dining experience.
Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Quite a high level of noise, somewhat distracting when trying to conduct a business lunch.
Friendly service and good food consistently.
Great dining experience for either lunch or dinner. I would certainly recommend.
Pros: Beef Tenderloin sandwich was fantastic
It was quiet on a weekday evening
We had just enough service attention to suit our needs yet give us privacy
Cons: Chairs are horrible....backs are worn and dirty and you practically fall through them when you sit down and I’m not a heavy person
Waitress showed up and greeted us and proceeded to ask for a drink order and pulled cocktail napkins out of her pocket that were literally wadded up! They were tattered and fuzzy and worn. I commented and waitress didn’t seem bothered but the bus servicer gentlemen exchanged them with fresh ones when he brought our water. Humorous.
Wine by glass is expensive....no middle of the road price. Mine was $14 white and came to me luke warm. I didn’t want to send it back and cause another fuss.
Do not order the deviled eggs appetizer.....totally tasteless and whites had a bizarre texture.
We shared the Bread Pudding for dessert and it was delicious except as we ate into it, the middle was still frozen. So a big portion was wasted
We were there with out of town guests that we had not seen in a long time. They were treating us so I didn’t feel like I should say anything even though it was me who choose the restaurant.
I would not return here.
I've been having lunches at Mission for years. I was shocked to see the new menu. The buffalo chicken salad is my go-to and its becoming a few pieces of lettuce with a few tomatoes and not a lot of anything else. The chicken didn't have enough sauce and the avocado ranch dressing is weird. Bring back the bleu cheese dressing!
The menu has changed and some of the more popular items are either gone (chicken tacos) or have changed for the worst (walleye, buffalo chicken salad). Let Atlas be Atlas. People come to Mission for their favorites, many of which are either gone or no longer as good. Time to move Murray's to the top of the reliable "go to" lunch spots.
The buffalo chicken salad is my favorite. The service is excellent.
great! wonderful place for business meetings and social meetings
The private room in the back was perfect for our graduation celebration!
Great! Awesome spot for a Saturday night pre-show dinner. Delicious crab legs, steak and wine. Service was friendly and great. We will definitely go back!
I have always loved this restaurant and have always been impressed by the food and the level of service. There was a giant miss today when I went in and brought a coworker from another state. The server appeared at the table apologizing for his delay which at this point was more than noticeable. The tables next to us were sat after us but received table service before us. A runner brought our food out and the server NEVER stopped to check on us or the food. I was late to a meeting by the point the server finally arrived and asked if I wanted a refill on iced tea. Both me and my coworker immediately asked for the bill as we were afraid we may not see anyone again for who knows how long. Sad to see service at this level as I love to recommend this place.
Good for business lunch, group lunch. Perfect location! Good food, however our waitress was a little too busy, our lunch came late. Outside of that great place.
Mostly positive: server was nice, if a bit slow. Wontons and beet salad were delish, chicken Caesar salad very good but needed about a half dozen more croutons, ceviche was very tasty and a good size portion. Fried crepe dessert was a bit bland but still good. Only negatives: We were seated in the bar which was louder than we would have liked, Brussels sprouts were tough and flavorless, menu said they were made with bacon but none was to be found. Big waste of $9. Overall a good experience and we will return!
Excellent service and food. My only small critique is the use of salmon in both specials for the day including the omelet. Salmon does not belong in an omelet and it is a bummer to not be able to enjoy either of the specials because the same ingredient is featured and neither me nor my friend likes it.
Delicious food, great service. An awesome spot for a MINNEAPOLIS power lunch!
The food was excellent - we had ahi tuna and halibut. We got there right away when they opened and had a reservation. Our waiter was very nice but it seemed to take awhile for our food. A table of 4 next to us that arrived after us was served their food before us.
We like the 1/2 price wine bottles on Saturday and for a
Nice start to our evening out to see Garth with friends . Food and appetizers
Awesome waitress! We had oysters and someone didn’t shuck them properly. We had shells in our oysters. Besides that it was great.
The attorney I assist brought 3 clients to Mission. On her return, she stated the following:
1. My attorney ordered the beet salad. 10 minutes passed before the waitress informed her they were out of beets. She asked what else was in the beet salad. The waitress stated she did not know.
2. One client ordered the Caesar salad. The salad came with no dressing. The waitress said it was already mixed in the salad. However, there was no dressing in the salad.
3. 10 minutes passed before being served water. The reservation was a late lunch - approximately 2:00 p.m. so the restaurant was fairly empty.
My attorney stated the waitress seemed new.
I had a delicious ahi tuna burger with a side of potato chips with sour cream and chives! Mmmm... ☺️
My workmate had roasted walleye topped with pecans and a side of seasonal vegetables.
We had a group of 8 and had excellent, prompt service. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations. Highly recommend.
It was a surprisingly quiet Saturday evening. The cocktails were high quality and very generously sized. The mission roll appetizer was large enough for four and was a fabulous flavor and presentation. We finished off the meal by splitting a prime rib which, again, was high quality and very nicely prepared and presented. Our waiter was very helpful and provided terrific service as did other restaurant staff.
