Miss Lily's Ratings and Reviews
Be prepared to be asked to leave. The hostess was inhospitable and dampened an otherwise exciting birthday celebration by placing a time limit on our reservation and turning down our request for another round of drinks--although no one was visibly waiting. In 2017, we should expect and encourage better planning and commitment to customer service--not this disappointing experience and treatment.
I enjoyed the cuisine as always but I made a reservation bc it was an anniversary for my husband and I. I made the reservation early at 6 so I could enjoy our dinner before the crowd arrive and sit in the back. I was told I could not sit in the back without a good reason. I was just told It's bc they sit the front first. So sadly we had to spend our anniversary talking over the louder music in the front. I was very disappointed! I thought I had planned properly for an anniversary evening for food and atmosphere, since one of our first date was there. Instead we were provided a lame excuse to be forced to sit in front even with a reservation at the least busiest time.
Service was suuuuper slow and wait staff not the brightest. I arrived early for a birthday dinner and asked the waitress to keep my credit card so that my friend and I wouldn’t argue over the bill at the end of the night.
I went to the bathroom at the end of our meal and asked her to run my card. When I came out of the bathroom she had run my friends card (the birthday girl). Then she couldn’t find my card for a few minutes.
On top of that, this location doesn’t serve liquor. All their cocktails are made with soju and cost way too much considering.
Overall, really disappointed.
Although the food at the restaurant was amazing, the service is seriously lacking. They need better waitresses. The one we had on a Sunday evening just did not cut it. Didnt seem to have good knowledge of drink menu and just did not seem at least fake happy to be doing her job. Turned off by the service but the food was indeed good, and Im Jamaican so I know tasty Jamaican food.
Casual, cool interior design.
Staff attentive to patrons standing [who were not yet seated]. Brunch: server attentive with refilling glasses of Bellinis*
Would have preferred for the glass to actually be empty before being served again, versus the glass being 1/4 empty and being topped off frequently. Made it difficult to keep track of how many drinks were had.*
Coconut pancakes are amazing!
Rich in flavor; berries were juicy; pancakes were a fair serving portion.
I went to miss Lily's for boozy brunch. The food and drinks are pretty solid and the decoration is fun but we had terrible service. The waitress was rude throughout the whole meal and ignored me on 3 separate occasions when I asked for a coffee. She then cut us off before our 2 hour mark for bellinis and when I asked her to fill my drink up "a little bit" she legitimately put less than a tablespoon and stomped away. She proceeded to include 20% gratuity.
What a little gem this is.
Food was amazing. Service was poppin..
Bottomless brunch had me wavy af.
I had the Jamaican Rancheros and my friend had the breakfast roti. The rancheros was sooo good. The beans.. mmmm. It was a lovely day so we sat outside and it was just the perfect Sunday afternoon. Would definitely come back!
Took a coworker to experience Caribbean cuisine was very embrassed menu choice was very basic & limited. It was more like a grab a bite rather than a after 6pm dinner. Order Jerk Chicken they bought a half of chicken that was not cut up I asked it they could cut it up for us and was told no, we were at the table fighting & ripping the chicken. was like we were at a little hole in the wall grabbing a $5. meal. Porgie on dinner menu!!! really. Will never go back there, P.S. I have been going there for years.
Ambiance was great, very reminiscent of island vibes. Our server was very sweet. The food was pretty good, not like home cooked but pretty good even still. No hard liquor/beer which was a bummer but they restaurant is respecting the fact that they are located across from a church.
I've now been to both Miss Lily's locations and I must say that I am very impressed by both. The food is amazing and there is a really cool vibe. My original reservation was for 6:30pm for 6 ppl at the SoHo location. I had to call and add an additional person about an hour & a half before, then showed up with 8 ppl @ 6:50pm. The staff was really gracious about it which I appreciated because it was my cousin's bachelorette dinner.
Overall, it was good experience. The decor and atmosphere was great. The hostess and waiters/waitresses were nice. Most of the food was good. The oxtail stew was great. The codfish fritters were not good; way too oily. The jerk wings were decent. The rice and peas were delicious. The plantain was cut way too thick and not all of them were cooked through to the middle. The drink was very weak in terms of alcohol content and not worth the price. It took a long time to get the check.
