Excellent service! Great Happy Hour!
Had to go back. It was the 30th anniversary of me proposing to my wife at this restaurant. Surprised that a restaurant was still there so many years later and that the quality had been maintained. Highly recommended.
Loved the historic ambiance—exposed brick and cozy rooms on multiple floors. One of a diminishing number of restaurants that decorate for the holidays. Was there for Saturday brunch, which included appetizers, a main course, dessert and beverage for $30. Our group chose shrimp everything was delicious, and I had enough to take home. Our server was attentive and answered all our questions and requests for dietary preferences. Would definitely recommend.
Very nicely decorated for Christmas. Food was just OK. Grilled cheese sandwich was under par, salad was better. Service was good, friendly staff.
Great experience! I’ve lived up the road from this place for 5 yrs and it’s the first time I came in. Wish I had come in sooner!
Nice setting. Good food. A little chilly in the main dining room even with the fire going.
Great brunch. Good selection.
I've been to Mrs. K's in the past, but my most recent visit suggests it is not the same. We did the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was bland and cold, and the service was inattentive.
I have dined at Mrs K several times in the past years. I had a 1030 reservation that was made several months ago to celebrate my daughters birthday, we were a party of four. We waited until 1050 to be seated. There were several parties with 1030 reservation and we had no idea how the party was selected to be seated. We were seated in the basement, that smelled molded. The food in the basement was not ready, we had to wait for about 15 minutes for "set up". After the food was set up, there was no one at the omelette station, again we had to wait for the chef at the omelette station.
Despite all of that, I think what really irritated me, at 1230 our waitress placed the check on the table, she did not ask if we needed anything else before placing the check on the table. Five minutes later, she asked if we can pay the check because there was another party waiting for our table. I replied that I needed to complete my coffee and desert before leaving. She appeared annoyed. I planned an adult dinning experience for my daughter's birthday and the poor service ruined our celebration.
This was our first Saturday Brunch. The restaurant was warm and cozy for a chilly Saturday afternoon. Ambiance was great and so was the music!! Awesome atmosphere. Salad was fresh and omelette was made to order (ham was a bit salty but it is ham). Food came quickly and the staff was attentive. The shrimp & grits were delicious. My only complaint was the small portion of the dish. It was not served in a bowl but a slender rectangular plate. Would have preferred more especially to feel satisfied. The bread pudding was warm and moist and the sundae was a hit. And can't go wrong with Mimosas!!!
Calm and relatively quiet friendly atmosphere. Waitstaff were most attentive and responsive. Food was good, but not exciting. Prices were reasonable.
Wonderful setting rich in history. Service was perfect. Will definitely dine there again.
Sunday breakfast buffet was excellent, included seafood, omelets, waffles, breakfast meats, other meats and vegetables and pies. Good variety and lots to choose from.
First visit here, won't be the last, that's for sure. Great food and service in a picturesque cottage. The special for the evening, seafood combination of a crabcake, salmon and grilled shrimp was absolutely wonderful. Seafood as fresh as could be. Our server, Damon, personable and efficient, was able to answer our questions about the menu and history of the restaurant. He made our visit particularly memorable.
I celebrated my 48th bday there and it was wonderful!!!
Food and service was fine. I had requested a candle on our dessert but alas there was none. Bummer
The food was amazing, the wait staff was awesome. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back!
Went to celebrate friend’s birthday but they didn’t acknowledge
Very nice place. I can see how they can also host weddings. The place was beautiful and the food was worthwhile.
Food was good. Usually come here for lunch a few times a year. Waiter was attentive. Would come back.
There Sunday Brunch is amazing. The crab legs, the shrimp, the oysters, the prime rib were all so delicious. It really is a good value for the price. The dining room where we were seated was very noisy and that really is the only thing that I can negatively comment on. We loved the unlimited Mimosa's and Blood Mary's for $10.
An outstanding brunch that made the whole family happy. What a wonderful find in my trip to Maryland.
We really enjoyed the brunch. Lots to choose from, from Oysters, Alaskan crab legs, shrimp, carving station as well as breakfast items. This is our new go to place for brunch.
Always a fun and historic place to stop for a meal. Menu is varied and the service is always first rate.
The food was exceptional. We loved everything we tried, especially the shrimp appetizer. The service was very good. And the location is great.
Very nice brunch and the servers are so attentive and helpful. The food is delicious and the ambiance is charming.
Food was great, ambience and noise level was super, and best of all, there was lots of parking and super easy to find. Highly recommendable.
Good meal and service.
We get together once a month for brunch with friends and like to try different places in the area. Mrs K’s was a wonderful place and we sat facing the gorgeous garden. We had reservations and were seated quickly and had wonderful service the entire time. Though it was quiet at first it filled quickly and there is lots of seating. The deviled eggs were great and everyone enjoyed their meals. Overall it was a good experience. It’s a break from more modern, more uptight brunch places.
It is always a pleasure to visit Mrs. K's Toll House whenever I am visiting the area...I am never disappointed. I My guests and I love the variety of food choices available and this time I even had the opportunity to try the strawberry mimosa vs the regular ones. Yummy! The waffles melt in your mouth. I always try to introduce new people to Mrs. K's!
I always feel at home here. From management (Kathy) to server (Jenna) and all in between . . . like family. I can't say enough about the selection and quality of the food. I went three plates deep at brunch. I regretted it . . . NOT! Good place, good people and good food at a good price.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and laid back staff that made us welcome even after we were 20 min late for our reservation. We loved the cozy setting! Service was excellent. Food was good but not great; husband had lamb (good) and I had the crispy chicken which was huge, and a little lacking in flavor.
Overall a really good experience and we will come back when in the area.
Yes to brunch. No to dinner. It was a great experience for Sat or Sun brunch. However, it was so hard to get the server. He was not around at all when we needed him. Our expectations were really high considering our great experience with brunch the other days but quality and taste of the dishes for dinner was really disappointing. Also I was expecting a separate wine list from this restaurant as it’s title implies “cellar” however wine list was too small in the food menu and I did not find any good wine there. Maybe I misunderstood capacity or specialty of this restaurant.
While the restaurant itself is very nice our meal was lukewarm bordering on cold when it got to the table. We ordered the Chesapeake Benedict.
The food was the worst part of the visit for me. I ordered the Salmon with veg and mashed potatoes and it was absolutely swimming in butter sauce which in turn made the mash runny. If it wasn't for the fact that your wait staff were very nice i would have given 2 stars. I know you have a popular restaurant but it isn't for me..
My niece and cousin were in town and my mom suggested that we have dinner at Mrs. K’s. We had a wonderful time & everyone enjoyed their meal. Christian (I believe that I am spelling his name correctly) was our server. He was the best!!! We will be back. Thanks for a great evening!!!
My only complaint would be the lack of people at the front. We entered and waited for 15 minutes before I had to call someone to come seat us. The restaurant itself is super spacious with 3 separate floors, but I think the lack of someone at the entrance at least when we came was definitely not a fun feeling. Otherwise, loved it, can’t wait to go back
As always, brunch buffet was yummy!
I haven't been to Mr's K's for many years. We were not disappointed.
Just as good as I remember.Service wasn't great.Food was very good.
