Salmon was great, but served on bed of watery lentils. Ceasar salad was great.

Great quiet lunch place ..... Wonderful food!

Did not have any gin in the entire bar. Oddly enough the emptied the last bottle of Bombay Saphire as we were being seated. Menu was minimal but sufficient. Dinner was good, but not outstanding. Prices were commensurate with the quality. Server was attentive and pleasant. Not very busy for a Saturday night.

Very nice interior but very disappointing lunch menu. I ordered the salad nicoise only to find canned albacore tuna on it! Upon review of the menu it did say albacore tuna. It just didn't occur to me that such a fancy French influenced restaurant would have canned tuna on a $16 salad! I was expecting seared tuna on my salad. The lunch menu was also very limited. My barley soup was warm at best. They did replace my nicoise with a grilled shrimp. That was much better.

My wife & I were recently in Paris. Back home It was Valentine's day and I was looking for a restaurant with the warmth and charm as we found in Paris. I made reservations at Mirani's
a restaurant we have not visited in 9 years in our own backyard. We absolutely enjoyed every
minute. It has the sweetness of Paris and the food was great. We enjoyed every minute and will
return again.

We had enjoyed the food the first time we were here in November for a birthday.
Came back for our anniversary w families. Very sub par service. Food was enjoyable.
Restaurant was very slow, bus boy n others were helpful. Our server was too seasoned n too good to take care of just one table of 9. We had to ask for bread numerous time. She was not attentive or friendly. It's a very slow night, we were may be the only money you would make for the night, granted that it's auto gratuity. We came in in a great mood, you didn't make it special, we would have tipped you more.
A word of advise for you smarty server, you take care of your guests the same whether you have 5 tables or 1 table, whether they order 1 bottle or 5 bottle. You are a representative of the restaurant, you make the guests want to come back.
Sorry owner, your restaurant is great, this staff of yours downgraded it.

Great quiet place for lunch. Good salads and excellent soups.

Food was great - we had the white fish, which was well prepared and very flavorful. Service was good, server seemed a bit new and unsure, but she was very pleasant and attentive. A little pricey, but its Winnetka.

Beautifully prepared Bistro specials. Lovely ambiance. Attentive staff.

First time here, and we'll be back! Every part of our meal was great. Cream of mushroom soup, quality of tomatoes in salad, whitefish, frites, Napolean, lemon tart--all were memorable. Ambiance--the back section is rather large in comparison to the intimate front section so it didn't feel like the bistro atmosphere we were expecting. Nonetheless, we had a great meal with excellent service. Mirani's is a 45 minute drive for us, but we look forward to dining there very soon.

We've been here several times since they opened. This last trip was a little disappointing. Red meat selections were very limited. The wine markup was closer to 3x retail instead of the usual 2x. It made me somewhat sad, as I am fond of this restaurant. It had been over a year since we had been there, so this change may have happened a while ago. We may return, but I hope they make some adjustments.

Dining at Mirani's is always a pleasant experience. However in the 3 years I have been going, the basic menu has not changed. There are some specials on the week-end, but that is not enough to make this a "go to" neighborhood spot. We were there on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was only half full. That should be a sign that some changes need to be made.

We'd been to the restaurant once before, several months ago, and enjoyed a nice dinner over white tablecloths and tasty food. Saturday night was memorable in that the entire evening was bad. We arrived with my 88 year old mother who we told the server was celebrating her birthday. She acknowledged it by commenting "how nice". We ordered a bottle of wine and one martini...the martini came ten minutes after the wine was poured and was unrecognizable. There didn't seem to be any vodka...only some olive juice and ice and water. After the initial pour, the wine sat on ice nearby so that we could top off our glasses ourselves since the server wasn't interested in that part of the servicer.
We ordered and our food was delivered 40 minutes later. The salmon in mustard was dry and tasteless. The scallop special was six small, overcooked scallops on a bed of greasy kale and the grilled salmon was nothing special. Apparently the chicken and Filet enjoyed by our other guests was fine. After dinner, the server asked us if we wanted desert...you would think she could have brought something small with a candle for the birthday (it's not every day that someone celebrates their 88th). Nothing, just a check.
To sum up, service was poor and food was bland and tasteless.

Excellent scallop appetizer and steak dinner. Wife had beet salad which was good but not fantastic and excellent salmon dish. Chocolate cake was delish! Service was very busy and did an average job.

It was very refreshing to find such a unique atmosphere with excellent food and service just a few miles from home. We'll go again.

We have eaten at Mirani's for more than a decade and continue going back. The food is nearly always exceptional (always very good) and the wine list, while not extensive, uniformly has excellent selections.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a very cozy, intimate feel. Although it does not call itself a French bistro - for the most part it is. Excellent French onion soup, steak frites, mussels, and more. They were extremely accommodating - substituting sauces and making one of the dishes salt-free as needed. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation at an adult volume. Highly recommended

While Mirani's is the place to go for steak frites, which we have enjoyed there before, we were pleasantly surprised by a scallop entree that was fantastic! Our starter soups, wild mushroom and French onion (creatively presented with a roof of puff pastry) were both excellent. The menu exhibits quality not quantity, and will bring us back...maybe for the steak frites!! The service is ideal, the atmosphere genuine, and the prices fair. And the proprietress is pure class!

Despite not being one of the newer restaurants on the scene, Miriani's is still a very nice spot for dinner. The ambiance is french-y with small intimate tables, banquettes and low lighting. The service is friendly and courteous. But, the reason to go is for the food! A small but focused menu is very well prepared and delicious. No cheating here; everything is straight out of the back kitchen including dessert. I started with mushroom soup, then the whitefish. Excellent. My husband actually commented on his caesar salad and followed with steak classique. Do not miss dessert! If you are lucky, you will be there on a day when freshly made Napoleon is available. It is perfection...and a heavenly way to end a very nice night out.

We have been to Mirani's twice in the past couple of weeks and love it. Can't believe we haven't gone there more often since it is right in the neighborhood. It is a gem. The food id delicious and the service so good. We will be back again soon.

Probably the worst service we have had in ages. No offer of dessert or drinks. No clearing of tables. It felt like eat and get out.

I always feel like I am back in France. Was here on a rainy and cold day. The split pea soup and salad with crab and shrimp were delicious. Fortunately my friend had their delicious fries and shared some. I love dinner here as well. Wonderful fish and steak. And the desserts are made by the owner...delicious.

Discover one of most under appreciated restaurants on the North Shore. If you like French Bistros, this one is top notch. A Caesar salad starter was delicious, but the winner in my opinion was crab and shrimp served in with avocado and a luscious tangy tomato sauce. Steak frites was done to perfection. Juicy. Tender. Wonderful. Salmon and halibut dishes for those who foreswear meat were equally good.

Close to home and told by son in law "worth trying". Is he in trouble!. Empty when we arrived for"quiet reservation" at six. Very quiet place to eat this Saturday night with so few patrons. One would think service would be better: table was un set, bread basket, four dishes and butter dropped unceremoniously, and water after request. During meal, selected from shortest menu almost ever., dishes arrived long waits apart, wait staff yakking, with calls needed for water, the four item desert list and coffee-tea order. she salmon on mustard sauce/lentils and chicken dishes got tepid oks. The Spaghetti Bolognese was declared "edible maybe and outdid a soggy Napoleon.

I have had many lunches at Mirani's but this was my first time for dinner. The food was quite good and the service was acceptable. I asked for a pepper mill for my salad and when the server brought it, she gave some to me and never offered any to the other three people at our table. We were all surprised and thought someone should suggest to her that she should have asked others too.

We were expecting a menu a bit more extensive but we were very pleased with the Grilled Salmon, Sirloin Steak with Frites with Peppercorn Pan Sauce as well as the Special Appetizer of Scallops with two different sauces and the Beet Salad. For dessert we split a Apple Tart which was an extremely small portion but yet very tasty. The price point was a bit high but the quality of the food could justify part of the higher than normal tab.

Just happened to see Mirani's on line looking for a restaurant in the North Shore, something interesting, not the usual.

Enjoyed a wonderful halibut in mustard sauce, with polenta and mixed veggies. Accompanied by a wonderful Bordeaux. (Sorry, wine aficionados - I like red with either meat or fish).

Food was good. Service terrible. Wait staff young inexperienced girls. For nice restaurant, not helpful. Breadbasket served with stacked plates we had to unstack, waited for our food for 3o minutes, coffee was brewed one cup at a time, and never a water refill. Chairs uncomfortable. Restaurant was empty for a Saturday night and I understand why.

We just read the review in Sheridan Road magazine and was excited to go.We were disappointed from the minute we walked in. We were greeted with surprise from one of the 2 servers even though we had a reservation and there was only 1 table of 4 in the place. The server was very unfriendly,took our drink order and disappeared for about 10 minutes even though we only ordered 2 glasses of wine. Nothing elaborate to make. I ordered the endive salad which was bitter and my friend ordered the onion soup which was good. I had the lentils and salmon which was just ok. The lentils had a strange spice in them,which did not go with the salmon. My mother had the sirloin and frites and the meat was tough an flavorless. mousse cake was dry and tasteless.

We have eaten here many times and always find it enjoyable. It's menu has a French base with delicious meats.

Time and geographically challenged, where can you go as a group during the week to a place that will be memorable? Mirani's. I liken it to cobalt -- a beautiful substance, rare and elite, with most not knowing its value and potential. Mirani's doesn't disappoint in its creative bar area - painted vaulted ceiling, doorways shrouded with vibrant fabric, and acoustics valued for conversational peace. Starting with delectable REAL bread with creamy butter service to its seasonal appetizers to fresh specialized salads (beet salad is a must!) through to the French style steak or perfecto seafood, it's all an epicurean delight. For dessert, we chose to share a lemon tart - unbelievably perfect by measure of crust and curd.

Lunch was great. Salad was excellent as was the lentil soup. I have never had a bad bowl of soup at Mriani's.

We had heard this restaurant was delicious so we decided to give it a try for my husband's birthday. It was supposed to remind you of Paris but that was not the case. There was some artwork on the wall but that was about it. The chairs were very uncomfortable which is a big pet peeve of mine. The waitress came over, blurted out the specials and asked if we were ready to order. She didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. The food was spectacular. I ordered a price fixed dinner which included dessert. I whispered that it was my husband's birthday and she put a candle in my dessert and didn't bring him anything. Not sure if we will go back.

I wrote a positive review the first time I was here and would just like to second that. Very nice place, great ambiance. Warning: the club sandwich was huge. I am a hearty eater but I could only get through half of it. The spicy lentil soup was as good the second time as it was the first.
