What Insiders Are Saying
Excellent sushi in an unlikely spot. This tiny restaurant at the bottom of the Hilton hotel on Mies van der Rohe Way street is worth a trip for any real sushi fan.
Probably the best sushi I've ever had in Chicago. Small, intimate, well-appointed setting. Very quiet and conversation-friendly. Knowledgeable server. This is what a high-end sushi spot should be.
Food was amazing and atmosphere was very enjoyable!
I love this place, it’s a neighborhood gem. Great food, freshness and he best service as well.
To Mirai. BOutstanding! We live nearby and always go est in Chicago!
This was a fantastic experience. Had only been to wicker Park location previously.
Food and service was simply outstanding.
Great Experience, “Fresh” and delicious every time!
Awesome place. Best sauce I ever had.
We had apps and sushi. Everything was amazing. The tuna tuna salmon had such great flavor my husband didn't use soy sauce which is a major thing. Mary our server was great. Made great recommendations.
Expensive And very diferent i dont recomend people frío Mexico to go
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Go there!!!
We arrived 10 minutes early for our 5:00 pm reservation. We were not allowed to wait in the vestibule and were asked to leave and come back at 5:00. The man was polite, but come on, this is December in Chicago and why make us stand outside in the cold?! So, we can't rate the food or the service, but we can tell you to not ever, ever arrive early. Bah humbug.
P.S. We live in the neighborhood and were saddened that this behavior would give visitors to Chicago a very bad impression of our City.
Very small intimate place, service was efficient and everything seemed very fresh. Attention to detail regarding the Sushi was lacking though at this price point you would not expect the rolls to be falling apart and the seaweed wraps loose.
Mirai Sushi is very tiny, only 8 tables and a sushi bar. The tables are close together which is why I gave the ambiance only 3 stars. But the food, presentation and service are excellent!
Very disappointed with service and the price relative to volume of food was exorbitant. I have been to the former location in Wicker Park and was warned of less than stellar service and long waits for drink/food orders to come at this location. The waitress was simply absent the entire meal (we had to ask the owner for help with our drink order). When the waitress did appear she just gave the command, “No soy sauce with this!” and disappeared again. What a shame and I apologized to my guests from out of town.
great restaurant - very small, intimate with only a few tables
Excellent food and service!!
Although expensive, you get what you pay for - exquisite, highest quality sushi.
Very good food, staff was very friendly. If you're going to sit at the counter, you won't get to watch the chefs, there is a barrier. Not a bad thing, just know that going in if you're looking to watch them work.
The items at Mirai Sushi are all of high quality but the variety is a bit limited. The prices are high but are merited by the quality.
We had a fabulous meal at this location. We’ve been to both now and absolutely love them both. Very small and intimate.
Consistently good. Service excellent. What more can I say?
Food here is always outstanding!
An all time favorite for delicious Sushi in Chicago. Mirai has been around for 20 years and consistently produces creative and excellent sushi.
Although the menu is a bit limited, the quality is excellent and the service prompt and knowledgeable. If there are only two of you, it is a great experience to sit at the sushi bar.
Great sushi & sashimi in a small quaint restaurant. Overall good value and service
Excellent delicious menu items very tasteful fish items.
Food was okay, nothing special. Only real disappointment was fried rice, but this is not an inexpensive restaurant. Unless you are staying at the hotel and are too tired to venture out, there are much better options, some within walking distance. Service not super friendly or efficient, but not terrible.
Tout est tres bon , servi dans une ambiance feutree
Service agreable
Joli endroit
Very high quality sashimi, well presented.
Delish!! Can’t wait to go back! Food was great!m and great atmosphere
Great service & outstanding food ! Some of the best Chinese ever
As always this wonderful , small and perfect Sushi restaurant delivered the most fantastic meal.
This is the only place in Chicago that I HAVE EVER had this caliber of Sushi.

Perfect for my date.
We have eaten at the Wicker park Marai many times. We love the food and the service there was fine. The service last night was awful. We ordered miso soup and seaweed salad when we sat down received the soup got our seaweed salad about halfway into the meal after asking for it 3 times. They brought my husbands sushi order then took it away then returned approximately 25 minutes later with the correct order. They did not end up charging us for the salad but we had to repeatedly ask for water. Pretty much beg for attention for service.
Disappointing experience at this, up until now, our favorite sushi place in Chicago. Service was very slow. It seems that they have changed staff. We hope that they get it together so that we can once again enjoy this little restaurant.
Great hospitality and wonderful food!
This is our favorite Sushi restaurant, period. The sushi is clean and always fresh. There are also interesting choices of other dishes (shrimp togorashi, bin cho salad, fried rice, tuna tuna shrimp maki roll and more, even the seaweed salad is great). The Golf Coast location is small, in a good way. Best to have a reservation. Wouldn’t go with more than 6 people. The sakitini is a light refreshing martini. The service is personal and friendly. Excellent.
Wow. What an amazing meal. Best sushi of my life. I will be back.
VERY GOOD AND DINING AT SUSHI BAR IS WONDERFUL
WINE LIST NICE
RESTAURANT VERY COSY
Sushi was incredibly fresh! There were many creative options. I will definitely return!
