Mirage Persian Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
The service was great, we had a large group (not everyone was a Foodie). The waiter made a suggestion for appetizers because members of our party we late. They were very patient and refilled our beverages before our glasses were empty. When we were ready to order, they were very patient in describing all ingredients in each dish. Everyone's meal was ready at the same time, no one had to wait for their food while others were eating. Upon completion of the meal, they slit the checks up ease (sometimes waiters act as if this request is a huge undertaking) this was not the case at Mirage. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family, furthermore I will be back.
For appetizers,we had Kashk-O-Bademjan and Hommus. Both delicious. For entrees,we had Lamb Kabob rice plate and my friend had the Lamb Kabob wrap (soft pita bread). We loved our choices.
Our entrees came with a Persian-style tomato soup. Our server was nice and friendly.
I would recommend this restaurant.
We've dined at Mirage in the past and have always been satisfied; good, solid food and service. On this visit the food was consistently good but service not so good. The restaurant was not busy and even though the waiter could see we were a group of friends catching up he hurried us to order even after we'd already ordered appetizers for the table. Waiter came to our table about 5 times within a 10 minute period to take order and even though we were not ready to order he was visibly perturbed. Once we did order food served in a reasonable amount of time but there was no follow up; we never had water refill, ordered tea at end of meal from another waiter took 20 minutes to arrive. If restaurant had been mobbed I could understand but it was not.
This family owned restaurant offers the typical menu, but prepared better than most. I ordered the chicken kabob. In other restaurants, the chicken is on the dry side. At Mirage, it was moist and flavorful. The choices of rice are also delicious. My friend had the ground steak kabob which he really enjoyed. We've dined there a number of times and always have to take half home because the portions are so large.
I highly recommend Mirage.
The food was just OK! Would have asked for some yogurt/labneh if I could have gotten the servers attention.
There are several Persian type restaurants in the area and so I would probably go elsewhere next time. This one happens to be the closest to my house.
Due to the lack of server attentiveness, (I couldn't get a 2nd glass of wine ordered so I gave up ). The restaurant wasn't even half full???
My veg Kabab dinner was just ok. I didn't enjoy be seated next to a baby on my date night either. Child had a noise maker toy to play with during the entire dinner. We should have asked to move and I'll own that.
If you like or want to try Persian food, this is a great place to start. Definitely have the Kashk o'bademjoon appetizer, a creamy and delectable eggplant spread. Enjoy the bread with butter and herbs that comes to every table. Other appetizers are good, too. The stuffed grape leaves are delicious, or try the tahdig, a crispy plate of rice "from the bottom of the pot". Kabobs are excellent - all meat is so tender and deliciously seasoned. Don't miss one of the special rice dishes-almonds and orange peel and raisins, oh my! They make lamb shank 3 ways, all succulent. The stews are also very tasty. Try the sumac on the table in a shaker bottle, especially on the grilled tomatoes or anything that needs a little citrus-y tang. Service can be a little cursory, but the food more than makes up for it, but if you need something and speak up, it will always be provided.
The stuffed grape leaves are delicious, as is the eggplant appetizer with their wonderful bread. I love the chicken kabobs with their special rice with berries. The stew with chicken and pomegranate sauce is a favorite. The service can be hit or miss. Be aware that if you make a reservation through Open Table they won't honor any coupons.
There were four in our party and each got a different dish. Ratings were 5 stars from 3 and 3 star from one. The rice was dry and room temperature while everything else was hot. All agreed that despite these problems (minor) this is a place we would like to return to and try something different. Service was friendly, attentive and responsive to both our needs and our questions, having never had Persian food before.
We celebrated my father's 95th birthday at a Saturday lunch. The food was delicious and the wait staff courteous and attentive. My nephew from Bolivia tastes hummus and pita for the first time and was a big fan.
My father is a very slow eater (maybe that's why he is 95) but we never felt rushed. They kept his birthday cake in the back and seemed to enjoy the occasion as much as we did.
I always order the Mirage special chicken and the smoked/baked eggplant appetizer. There is enough to take some home.
There is also a private room for large groups. My neighbor holds meetings there and they will serve family style there.
Check it out!
I had not been to Mirage in several years. Not because of a bad experience but just had not been back. This visit reminded why I had enjoyed before. Food was excellent, service was very good. Our waitress was very personable, recommended choices very well. It did not feel that she had a script that she was using, you felt it was coming from her heart.
All of our choices were good. Lamb kabob and shrimp kabobs were both excellent, well cooked and good mix of tastes. No spice was overwhelming on either dish .
My wife and I will definitely be back soon and will bring our dining buddies.
I have gone to Mirage many times. This time the service was extremely poor. Servers need to learn English before being put onto the floor. Our waitress had no idea what we were saying. The owner (female) came over to help her and proceeded to tell me that 'the kitchen shouldn't be doing' something that I have ordered 10 times before! She said she was trying to 'see' if the waitress had enough language skills to serve - which the answer was NO. The server rarely returned to our table to see if we needed anything. She didn't take our trash away nor did she clear our dishes when we finished eating. After we paid - they realized that they forgot to charge us for one cup of tea - so they rerung our entire bill and we had to start again. Since we used a 20% off coupon - we paid a hefty automatic tip to the server who did not do a good job. And, to top it off, the food was NOT up to the standards from the past. The portion was very small and the rice was dried out. We were extremely disappointed and not sure if we will return or not. What a shame. Also - when I arrived - no one greeted me. In fact, three servers were chatting and I had to stand there for at least 5 minutes to tell them that I had a reservation and could I please be seated?? This is really unacceptable.
The food is always terrific at Mirage - we almost always have the stews - I like the savory, citrus-like Qormeh Sabzi, my wife and I both love the Fesenjoon, which is chicken in a pomegranite-flavored sauce, and my friend had a wonderfully tender lamb shank the other night. The bread is great, they treat you like family and I love it.
We have dined at Mirage and have ordered for take out for nearly 20 years. The food is excellent every time and service is attentive. The various rice dishes and kebabs are beloved by my family of all ages. Enjoy a quiet night at Mirage like we do and you will not be disappointed.
I keep coming back to Mirage for the wonderful food that is exceptionally flavorful and excellent wait staff that ensure you are taken care of well. Mirage Special Chicken kebabs with Shireen Polo rice is to die for. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, tender juicy chunks of chicken with a flavorful rice with pistachios, berries, citrus zest is the perfect combination. I should probably try some other restaurants in the area but I'm afraid they might disappoint me as I am spoiled by this dish at Mirage!
Food was pretty good. The server was okay. The owner was fantastic and went out of his way to make a rice pudding dessert that wasn't too sweet, all because I said I wanted dessert but didn't like things that were overly sweet. The couple that sat next to us shared more knowledge about how to enjoy some of the authentic Persian dishes and drinks than our server. Overall the experience was fine. Not sure if we'd return.
A large group of us celebrated a coworker's birthday at Mirage.
The food, as always was incredible.
Our server Zia, was extremely attentive. He handled such a large party with grace and absolute professionalism.
This restaurant is a favorite lunch spot, with many of my coworkers.
We will be back, for sure!!!!
