Open Table has found many excellent restaurants for me but few as good as Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek. Local ingredients wonderfully prepared and professionally served in a large, glass-walled room that makes the "golden view" over the valley the main feature of the interior design.
There was a large group at a table next to us having an energetic party which made it difficult for my wife and I to hear each other at times.
The arctic char main course was good, but the panzanella salad consisted mostly large chunks of the same bread that was brought out as table bread with relatively small amounts of sauce or vegetables - not very interesting (to me at least).
Wonderful place to have a great lunch after a tasting session. Pizza's were awesome and the grilled cheese was over the moon. Our server Melissa was exceptional and kept an eye on the clock for us as we had a timeline to stay on. (BTW Melissa, your brother Jimmy is a character and looked after us big time at Dessert Canyon golf the next day!!!)
PS: Joined the Wine Club at Tinhorn......cant wait for my first shipment!
Nous sommes allés dîner au restaurants Miradoro du vignoble Tinhorn Creek pour notre anniversaire de mariage le 11 septembre dernier. Celui-ci nous avait été recommandé par un ami et nous l'en remercions. L'endroit offre une vue sublime sur les environs juché qu'il est sur la montagne. Nous avons suivi la suggestion du serveur et pris le repas 3 services et nous avons été comblés. En plat principal nous avons dégusté une côtelette de porc tout simplement délicieuse accompagné d'un vin succulent. Le service était excellent et très courtois. L'addition était toutefois un peu élevée mais nous en avions été prévenus.
We went to dinner at Miradoro with our daughter and her boyfriend and had a very nice evening. All were impressed with the restaurant itself as we walked in; the tables on the balcony have a great view and the building itself is attractive. The restaurant is also quiet, a pleasant change from so many with music or acoustics so loud that you can barely talk (good background music too, and it really is in the background). We all enjoyed our meal, including one vegetarian who was pleased to have a good selection of dishes for a change. This is our first time visiting the area and we'd be happy to come back; the boyfriend plans to bring his parents here on their next trip out. So there you have it, four happy customers.
Was there for birthday. Amazing view of the valley. Calamari and beef tartare were great except beef came with 4 tiny chips for a large portion. Flanksteak was really good. Chicken was terrible. It came with smoked gnocchi that tastes like you were eating campfire smoke. By the end of the meal the smoke had contaminated the chicken and vegetables. My mouth literally tasted like an ashtray and the server didn't react at all when I said this. An espresso couldn't even cover it up and chocolate pudding dessert also ruined by it. Lemon pudding dessert was excellent. No adjustment to bill. Desserts large in size but I'd say overpriced for pudding/mouse in a glass jar.
Unfortunately the one dish ruined my birthday experience as food, wine, dessert all tasted like campfire. (Rather ironic for a winery where you want to showcase your wines). At this price point they should have done something (it would cost them like $1 for a limoncello or something to try and help cleanse my palate).
Overall good food if you avoid the chicken, ok prices overall but call it a fee for the nice view, desserts basic but tasty and plentiful.
I found the wine expensive especially when it's their own. It was a wonderful meal other than the grey polenta that was served either the salmon. The salmon was exquisite but the presentation with the polenta was not. I did not like the look of consistency of the polenta. Other than that it was great. Thankyou
Booked weeks in advance. Spoke with manager at time of initial call requesting nice table for girlfriends birthday. Also requested bottle of wine and a piece of cake to be delivered to table. Upon arrival manager asked if I still wanted the wine and the cake, with my girlfriend standing beside me... this ruined the suprise. We were then seated at a mediocre small table by a door. The view was minimal. There was a live rock band performing in the park, basically attached to the restuarant, I could not hear my girlfriend talk, and had to shout to attempt a conversation. The manager refused to move us, and do anything about the bill when we wanted to leave after our appetizers - we didnt stay for the main meal. The meals looked overpriced and the selection was horrible. We went to Terafina, and it was INCREDIBLE! Champange while waiting for a special table for my girlfriends birthday, a birthday cake with candle brought out, and atmosphere and food to die for! Forget Midoro, go to Terafina - feels like you are in a vinyard in Italy.
My wife and I went to Miradoro for our anniversary. We were expecting a great table to enjoy the view, excellent food and service.
Unfortunately we received a less than spectacular table in front of a pillar on the inside of the patio. Our server took quite a bit of time to come and greet us. The girl who served the water and bread was awesome! She was very attentive and polite. She outshone the server. The server came to our table 3 times. Yet, a couple who was sat (at a great table) received prompt and wonderful service so we knew the server wasn't too busy to provide great service.
I had the lamb dish, which was delicious and well cooked. My wife had the marinated olives and mushroom pizza. Both were delicious. By the time we got around to dessert we felt that we didn't want to shell out any further money for the lacklustre service.
The view was beautiful!
A lovely restaurant in an even lovelier setting. Sat outside on the balcony with a view of the vineyards. We both had the roasted chicken with smoky potato gnocchi and chanterelles. This was delicious. Chicken was hot, skin was crispy and flavourful. We shared the canolli for dessert; it was adequate.
The seating service was a bit slow, but our request to change our seating location was easily accommodated. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ambience and view from the outside deck seating was very nice. The food was well prepared, served at a good temperature and tasted very good.
expensive, typical BC restaurant....Bring Cash!!
Great setting but that doesn't warrant the prices. Venison Bolognese was nice but nothing special, sparse sprinkling of parmesan cheese on top was disappointing, desserts are $12 each and cheese is $6/oz..ouch. If you don't like Kale (who does?) you can't have a salad.
We had a great viewing seat. Our border was taken - I ordered the wine paring bit didn't get it . The sever thought I just ordered a glass of wine. Our main entree to more than 39 mins - another sever came by and asked if we wanted dessert - told her we haven't had our main course yet. Server and manager came back to apologize and said our entrees on our their way. I was recommended highly to go from a friend and was disappointed. Hopefully next time a better outcome.
Great restaurant. Enjoyed ourselves. Pasta was excellent as was the charcuterie platter (don't order the calamari). A wedding was on that took up half the restaurant but the staff were cautious to try and keep the revelry away. Made reservations for 8pm which I wouldn't recommend, the kitchen closes at 9 and I assume that is why we were rushed through our meal by an anxious waiter.
