Yikes - not good at Cordillera. Restaurant was merely adequate. Food just so so. Service fine

Great location very poor execution. We were seated by a GM who was barking orders to servers. Our server was woefully inexperienced and overwhelmed. A salad was delivered that no one ordered. Someone placed it in the middle of the table expecting us to sort out whose it was. The food was very average and in some cases cold. Against our better judgement, we ordered dessert with two tables left in the dining area. After almost 1/2 hour, our melted ice cream came and then we had to track down our server to get a bill. We have been traveling in the Vail Valley for 15 years. It will be a venue to which we will never return.

Service was terrible. The waitress was very inexperienced. The food was only average. I would expect more for Cordillera.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived at our reservation time they told us they couldn't serve any food for 45 mins due to a wedding. I can't imagine this was unplanned. I was starving and had to ask for peanuts or something! Plus they made us pay for drinks while we waited on them! The service was slow, it took us 1.5 hours to get to dessert. We were the only table the entire night. The meals were too big and so so! We sent back our green chili as it was too salty. The ice cream was freezer burnt. Over all this was a poor experience. Only nice part was the views. Clearly they do not have a manager that cares!

My wife and I have a home in Beaver Creek and have the opportunity to dine at numerous high end restaurants in the Vail Valley. We like Mirador for its outstanding views, great service, food, and reasonably priced wine list. The wait staff is very friendly and not stuffy like a lot of the Vail Valley restaurants.

You will have to drive to Cordillera, but it is worth it to be dining in a mountain top restaurant.

AMAZING!! The view, the food, the service, easily the most memorable dining experience of our Beaver Creek trip. Everyone agreed this was their new fav and we will definitely add it to our yearly trip.

Our entrees took a long time to come out and we had to ask for the house bread. The food was really good but just know that it will be a 2 hour dinner.

My family had dinner during the holidays at Mirador. We tried for a 6 pm reservation and were unable to get that time, so we settled for 6:30. What surprised us was the nearly empty restaurant upon our arrival. The waitress was pleasant and did an adequate job, though she seemed inexperienced. The menu was somewhat limited. I had the roasted cauliflower & quinoa which was delicious. My husband and son's girlfriend both had salads, to which they added chicken. It was strange to have grilled chicken arrive on a separate plate, but they said it was good. My sons had the bass, which was overwhelmingly average. The resort was beautiful & off the beaten path. I would have preferred to be there in daylight to appreciate the views. We'd like to try it another day for brunch.

We were there for our anniversary which happens to be in the off season (September). There were very few guests the night we dined, but there were even fewer staff. The food was good and the staff was friendly and helpful, but things moved very slowly. Luckily we were not in a hurry and didn't mind the wait especially since we had a table facing the south towards the mountains. The Fall colors were just starting and the setting was beautiful. They were well aware of their problem with staff and apologized several times. Prices were reasonable too for a nice restaurant.

We stayed at the Lodge at Cordillera in Edwards, CO for an extended weekend getaway. Our dinner at the Mirador was Sunday evening, 8/9/15. We had a window table overlooking the valley below and the high peaks beyond. Fantastic setting. My wife had the beef special and I had salmon. Both meals were quite lovely and served hot. Our waiter, Shawn, was excellent and very knowledgable about the menu and the wine list. Dining there was a little odd for us on this occasion in that we were the only ones in the restaurant for much of our meal. Perhaps that is an artifact of Sunday evening as many weekenders vacate on Sunday. By the way, we also had Sunday brunch at the Mirador and it was very good - - standard brunch fare but done nicely. Breakfast our last morning was topnotch. I had the crab cakes benedict which was extremely good.

We were here for our anniversary dinner, and had a reservation for 7:00. We were seated right away at a beautiful window table and our server was very attentive... at first. Then it seemed as though we were completely forgotten. We kept having to ask other servers for help in getting our server to attend to us. We were served our main course at almost 9:30! The worst part was that there was no explanation, and no apology. We are not picky or complaining types, and I always understand if there's a problem in the kitchen or whatever, but there was no excuse for this.
I will say that the food was excellent... when it finally arrived.

Good ambiance, great food, super view but few patrons. It appears that the management tries to make up for the lack of diners by severe staff cuts ( one waiter for the entire restaurant).

While the single waiter tried very hard (and did an excellent job ), to survive this restaurant needs to add staff and start marketing all of its good points.

We were so looking forward to enjoying what once was fine dining in a grand, but cozy dining room. We were one of only a few tables in the outdated dining room, so the large, empty atmosphere filled with pop music was odd. Communication with other tables regarding the choice of menus (lunch or dinner) was confusing and then not accommodating, the food timing was off, the rib eyes were cooked perfectly and were very tasty, however the lamb looked to be incredible, however the preparation of breading, oil and then overcooked delivery was disappointing at best - overall the dining experience was just poor and awkward.

In summary, our impression of the Lodge at Cordiellra is that most of the staff feels very put out and that they really are doing guests a favor by servicing them. My guess is this is a result of poor management, under-staffing, lack of leadership, poor employee treatment and of course improper investment in maintaining and updating the property.

I have used open table for hundreds of reservations and have never written a review. The public needs
to be warned about this experience. There were only three tables in use- one waiter that was the chief cook and bottle washer. He tried but had a hard time keeping up. ( I felt bad for him and left a generous tip) It took us 1 hour 10 minutes to get a cab back to Beaver Creek. Stay in Beaver Creek. It is not worth the cab ride or additional expense. My message to the club at Cordillera- If you can't do something well then you shouldn't do it at all. Shut it down.

As with a lot of restaurants that have an absolutely spectacular view, Mirador didn't have the best food. We had the pork chop and the salmon and both entrees were a little bland. I would expect the prices to be high based on the atmosphere and location, but I expected more out of the food. Overall though, I still recommend it due to the extraordinary view and service.

This is a true hidden gem, it is off the beaten track but so accessible and easy to get to. Stay the nigjt at the Lodge and indulge in a wonderful dinner and great breakfast! Food is fantastic, atmosphere is absolutely amazing... Staff is seasonal (which I mean they come to ski the day and serve the night) however polite and bearable. Overall, we will be making this a regular tour on our date weekends!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Mirador. We were shown to our table by Jordan who took great care of us throughout the entire meal! The food was excellent, and not your typical everyday type menu, great for a special occasion. The restaurant was quiet except for a large party seated in a room separate from the main dining room. Jordan checked on us frequently to make sure our celebration wasn't overlooked!

Food was quite good. Understaffed with tables that were not bussed after the diners left-very unsightly. Our server was quite friendly but he was basically it for the restaurant as the other servers were taking care of room service in the hotel. He admitted they were understaffed. The hotel itself is quite out of the way so diners should be aware. I would not go back as there are many other better choices in the Vail valley.

We had an Xmas Eve dinner at Mirador and were greeted with a "special" menu that was not relayed to us upon making the reservation. Long story short we ended up with bill for nearly $300 for 3 people for such Xmas favorites as oysters, lobster salad and bass. Our server also disappeared after our main courses were brought out so we ate our meal and then sat for literally 30 minutes with half eaten plates in front of us before giving up and walking around the restaurant to find the server and ask him to box up our desserts as we really didn't want to sit for another hour to wait for that to come out. Worth noting we were the one and only table in the restaurant at the time, 2 other tables showed up later after we had already sat for 20 mins.

What a gorgeous view from the Mirador dining room! This weekend was especially stunning with all the color in the hills near Cordillera. While the food was excellent, as was the server, we were mystified why we had to wait over 45 minutes for any food to appear after ordering. We were the only ones in the dining room. It would be great if the timeliness of the food service matched the quality of the view!

The view from the tables in the main dining room and ambience were the selling points of this restaurant. Mirador at the Lodge at Cordillera is the only place to eat literally within miles in the off season. The staff is nice and attentive. Dinner was fairly pricey: the $16 Mezze plate was small 2 Tbps portion of bean hummus, a few artichoke hearts, 10 olives and a sprinkle of caper berries. 5 Oz salmon portion with blood orange gastrique, handful of fingerlings? $20. Salads were tasty but $12 each for smallish plates of greens. Breakfast was very good. Try the Belguim waffle, extra crispy and crunchy with warm syrup. Cobb smoked bacon also a treat. Chicken apple sausage was okay. Eggs Benedict had great hollandaise sauce.

Fabulous mountain views and a rich romantic atmosphere. I eat here often, because I live in the nearby. There is a separate wine room for groups of 10 - 12 that keeps your party separate and private. The staff is friendly and the food has been great. The chef has recently changed so they may be changing the menu but as of now, it's still wonderful. Rather pricey but worth the trek.

The food was acceptable but the service was very poor. Our server didn't even pay attention to us. We had to call in multiple occasions to request to have our water replenished or to have new bread brought because the meal took a while to come.
I think they have great location and a beautiful restaurant with a great potential but they have some work to do with customer service and hiring people that have a passion for the service field. They are not very hospitable.
