Mirabelle Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Lovely place for any event, date night, business or just a spectacular evening out. The quality of food and the presentation really sets the standard for fine dining. The staff is top shelf and knowledgeable. If you visit Beaver Creek and don’t dine here, you are missing something special.
We dined here on Valentine's day and the restaurant was, as expected, full. The food was remarkably good. I love that all the fishes offered were wild caught and that the soups were not cream based. The service held up very well despite the full house. The ambiance was lovely. All in all we had a lovely time, enjoyed the food and service, and will return next time we are in the area.
Lovely meal just inside the Beaver Creek Resort gate. Our server, Troy, checked back at appropriate intervals but didn't hover, he answered all our questions and had wine recommendations. A few difficulties that prevented a 5 star rating on the food: the French onion soup was very spicy, there was a shell in the lobster bisque, the past-meal complementary pistachio treats were overlooked. The lamb chops were perfect, the steak was perfect and the veggie "paella" was good but could have used some spice. All total it was great!
We have eaten at Mirabelle every visit to Beaver Creek, but this will be our last. Maybe it was a bad night but the restaurant was not even half full which may be an indication that the restaurant has fallen out of favor. The portions were small and the prices were high...our most expensive meal in Beaver Creek! The food lacked taste, and the elk I ordered arrived well done when ordered medium. Then the hostess argued with me over the preparation of the meat until I got my phone out and turned on the flashlight to show her! I was quickly brought another dish of elk prepared correctly. My wife’s Dover Sole was lukewarm and also lacking in flavor.
When we arrived we were the only guests, but others came later. So, we were given a prime window location. Our water was very knowledgeable and convivial, even kidding with us. The food was superb. We all had variation of the pre-fixe dinner. We particularly enjoyed the fore gras and lobster appetizer and the vanilla creamer brûlée which was cooktop prepared. We felt the traditional decoration was still inviting. We were delighted with our evening
In all the years we have been coming to Beaver Creek, we have never eaten at Mirabelle. This past time we decided to give it a go. The meal was one of my top 10 of all times. We went with the Chefs menu with the wine pairing. There was not one single thing I would criticize. During the course of the meal, one course was delayed. It was not enough delay that upset anyone at our table nor did we say anything to our waiter. Because of this, our desserts were complimentary. Definitely not necessary, but greatly appreciated. Customer service at its finest.
We have been to this high class establishment on previous visits to Avon. This time we had the tasting menu which was innovative and very well cooked. The venison dish was particularly excellent. The wine pairings were well chosen but we seemed to miss one although it came later. Service was excellent and friendly but suitably formal when required. We will go back soon!
So great. Everything on the menu except for one item can be made gluten free. Lobster bisque and lamb were the standouts. Don’t pass on dessert. Excellent kid menu and the sticky sticks kept out 5 year old quiet (better than most of the adult patrons) for our entire two hour dining experience.
Dover sole was quite good, though appetizer soup was just so-so, while the other house specialty, loin of elk, was served cold and medium-to-well done versus a medium rare request, the tasting menu appetizers and salad also okay, but certainly not great, as Mirabelle had once been. The deserts, however, proved excellent and helped mitigate the disappointments.
It was our first time here, although our guest had been there many times. Fabulous food, service, wine list and atmosphere. Each meal was perfectly prepared, served with exquisite timing. The atmosphere is lively and friendly but quiet enough to hear each other. Must try. Really wonderful.
The good: The restaurant is very nice and it has a warm feel to it. The dishes are creative and are beautifully presented.
The bad: Terrible service and our waiter did not appear to be trained in fine dining. Our waiter talked a good game and talked us out of our bottle order in lieu of a tasting prepared by him. His selections were decent but he failed to serve the 1st tasting with our 1st course (he delivered it between course 1 & 2). There were other various snafus after including the wrong check.
Overall: The food is good but not special and the service is correctable with better training and supervision.
